posted a message on When strip mining, how do you choose a site?
I used to strip mine, however it gets very boring, so i now just mine in random circles (squares) and always end up right were my mine shaft came down too, so its not a far run back to the surface for what ever reason. This way i find pretty much the same resources as frequently as strip mining but its less boring for me.

good luck mining diamond with creeper

its possible! (extremely dangerous and could waste a bunch of diamonds but possible!)

What about finding a village and using their tilled soil?

Pickaxe is the most important by far IMO.

i guess my argument is that, you can get stuff with using explosions to pick up blocks, however no other tool will let you farm, you can find farm land but you can not create. you can always create block pick ups (with the exception of obsidian!)

    totally the hoe.

i actually agree, because no other tool will let you farm the land except for the hoe, with mining, if your clever you can always get creepers to blow up rock and collect it. and of coarse axes can be replaced by hands, and shovels too, but with out the hoe, all you can farm are like what? trees and sugarcane?

I don't understand why they cant have more then one in different regions of the world in a given year? like there are a ton of fans in the USA and Europe! they surly would make a ton of money by having 2 in one year.

Thank you for taking your time to test it. Spawns are random. anything could happen. So do you believe its possible?

well under normal circumstances its not possible to die every time you spawn, however if you spawned in the bottom of a ravine that was underwater than you could die from that!

posted a message on What new mob would you like to see in the next major update?
    Quote from Samiboula

Uh, no. This isn't skyrim. Imagine having just spawned in and you're on wooden tools, and a huge flaming dragon comes. You won't stand a chance, it would be terribly unfair.

That would be HILARIOUS however that is more for a mod rather than vanilla.

i want to see a new aggressive mob along with a new passive or neutral mob. A new enemy makes for new excitement!

Okay so with the exception of the ocelot and he wolf why do we only have farm animals? Like minecraft feels like an uninhabited land but we have these very iconic anthropogenic animals around!

    WHY?

posted a message on Is air a fluid like water and lava?
    Quote from Bumber

It would have data values if that were the case. It doesn't.

As for a less technical proof, air can appear out of nowhere if you retract a solid block with a sticky piston to create a sealed 1x1x1 empty space.

i thought air had the data value of 0? haha anyway I am really just joking around. like you can spawn in the ground and mine out a block and then you have that empty space which is air. obviously air is a void rather then a source block of some sort

Actually it is possible. you suck

I am sorry man, But because of yours and dontstealmybacon's disagreement i decided to test it out my self, you would need to spawn at level 10 or lower to die from suffocation. of coarse if you spawn and you lose time trying to figure out were you are you would die is "shallower water" (being like 40 blocks deep) but unless you spawn in a very deep ravine (which would seriously suck!) your not going to die from swimming to the surface.
Any way to put it in perspective. the lowest ocean level i could find (that wasn't connected to some underground formation) was 43 blocks deep and the surface being at 63 blocks high, a 20 block difference. you are able to swim about 50 blocks high through water before it kills you. so anyway you need to be a diamond level and deeper to drown.

thats pretty weird, i guess the first thing is to re-install minecraft, and if that doesn't work then maybe it is a driver problem on your computer for your mouse? try updating or rolling back it (although they don't tend to update those kind of drivers often)

    good luck!

how do you know its nothing? what if it is just a really fast moving source block? so once you break a block it fills it in right away?
