You need to locate the .txt file, open it, type your Minecraft username in it, and save it. Join the server again, it should work. You could make the server a bukkit server, then get plugins to do what you want.
Check them to be sure minecrafts port is open to the right computer. IP addresses change from time to time. If they are not static, the router auto-assigns them.
You did open ports for minecraft? If not, that's perfectly okay you simply port forward 25565 (default minecraft port) for both UDP & TCP.
I already had the ports open for Minecraft. I only have problems when I connect to other's servers, such as the Craftedmovie server. I can connect to my own just fine.
What... o-o Really? On the picture, it looks like only a 1 block gap between the block and the piston.
Oh, I didn't know that's what you meant. There is a gap between the block and the piston. I though you were saying there was a block on top of the piston...
This can also be caused when minecraft wasn't ported correctly. Sometimes it can be simply caused by a change of the IP address. They do change from time to time if they are not static.
Ported correctly? Is there something I need to do to my router's settings?
