Can you explain it a little more? Is the computer actually "on" with fans spinning? Do you hear the post beep?
As soon as i flick the switch on the back of the power supply, there is no sound, no fans spinning, no LED's and no indication of power apart from the red lazer on the bottom of my mouse going on and off very quickly.
Did you press the switch on the back of the power supply? By default it should be off I believe.
Yeah, A bit of the previous message didn't want to be posted. I originally said that the wired plug & play mouse i plugged in would flicker on then off in a split second
I don't think it matters, just put it in the one thats most aesthetically pleasing I guess.
Ah bugger, THere is one more thing There is a PWR LED cable,
As seen in the image, there is a cable, then a female 2-pin connector, connected to a 2-pin male, then the cable continues to a double sided male-female Molex cable. What do I do with this?
anyway you like, really. Side panel fans are kind of stupid, it depends, does it have a 3/4 pin power connector or a molex connector? If it has a 3 or 4 pin power connector you can close the side panel about half way, plug it into the motherboard, then close it all the way. Or you can find a 3 or 4 pin to molex adapter and plug it into your power supply, or if the fan has a molex connector, plug it straight into the power supply via molex.
Then you just let the cable hang in the air, pretty much. Unless it is a super duper long cable or you have an extension you can run it along the outiside edge of the side panel window and sticky tape it in place or something so you can't see it, I haven't done that though. It is hardly noticeable anyway.
I'm not sure if I understand that question. You must have everything plugged in to the PSU.
Thanks, and one quick last thing, I only have 1 USB 2.0 connector, yet there is 6 USB 2.0 ports in total on the case, and there is 3 slots for the cable to go into on the Motherboard. They are called USB6-7, USB8-9 and USB10-11. Which one do I put it in?
thats a 4+2 pin pcie power connector, plug that into the 6 pin pcie connector on the graphics card, then get a seperate cable from the psu with a 4 pin pcie connector.
Speak of the devil xD Thanks
I would also like to thank you on a larger scale, for helping me out so much from selecting my parts, to now - helping me build it.
And one last thing, if it isn't too much, How am I meant to connect the fan on the side panel of my NZXT Guardian 921 RB?
But the only cables coming out of my PSU are 2x SATA with each having 3 SATA cables coming out of it, an 8-pin connecter with CPU written on the side of it, a couple of Molex cables, and 2 PCI-E cables. Could I just use one whole PCI cables, and the 4pin part of the 2nd one?
This is my first build, And I was having generally no problems building it, but when I was about to hook up the PSU to the GPU, i came across a problem.
Here is a picture:
Sorry for the bad quality, but the problem is this - The GPU has one 6-pin connector, and one 8-pin connector, too.
The PCI-E Cable coming out of the PSU only has one 6-pin connector, and one 2-pin connector.
Is there any way I can get it to work with what i've got? I don't want to purchase anything else.
Incase you were wondering, the GPU is a Gigabyte Radeon HD7970, and the PSU is a Corsair GS700 V2
Never work on anything plugged into the wall.. I'm not sure who came up with that ridiculous notion but it's incredibly stupid to work on something plugged into a wall outlet, even with the circuit disconnected.
As long as you clip to something that is bare metal the charge will be equalized between you and the PC, the PC itself doesn't have to be grounded to anything.
I'm fairly sure all you have to do is clip it to any exposed metal part of your case, then strap it to your wrist.
I might be wrong though- never used one.
Thanks for the help, I'm building a PC next weekend
While im here, any advice on things i should change? I cannot go a cent over that amount of money though.
The reason I'm asking if there is anything I could change, is because of the MoBo, as i'm not sure if it is the best quality one for the money on the market.

I have recently been thinking about creating a new screen name for all the games I play.
I had a name I liked, and started using for a few hours, until I went to sign up for PSN again.
The name was NuclearTurtle
I still do like that name, And if it were up to me, I would keep it. But it isn't.
So I would like to keep the "Nuclear" part of it, so if anyone can think of any cool sounding words that flow with it, Please help.
Thanks in advance

When i flick the switch on the psu,the mouse flickers. Then after that happens, when I click the power button, there is still nothing.

Well I just "finished" building then, so I plugged the cord from the PSU into the wall in, and flicked it on, but I got no picture...
And the PSU fan didn't spin.

And the 3 custom parts are there, instead of the allocated areas, because they do not show up there for me.
