Don't get me wrong, I believe that eloram has put a lot of effort into the mod bu has anyone checked the irc recently.
She deserves the donations and all but no updates for months and endless pages of its coming eventually and then she posts a donation link with no update. Does anyone else think that this is a bit rude.

I'm find for modders asking for donates and all but that could have waited until she actualy has something to show for all these delays, even a buggy and scaled down version.

Whoa...back up, she DID NOT post the donation link. I was in the channel when it got changed. A guy named Andrew, a moderator in her channel, put it up there because some people wanted to know what her donation link was. She has nothing to do with anything in the title of the IRC channel, that is ran strictly by the IRC Ops of that channel as this thread is moderated by MC Forum moderators. She hasn't been on IRC any more than she has been here. There is nothing wrong for someone to donate to a dev that has given them possibly hundreds of hours over the year worth of entertainment. Prerelease 6 will be real soon however.

Edit: I see Andrew posted in here to clarify.

For those who read slows post on FTB..he was kidding, it was all a joke. I see some are taking it seriously here so just to be clear:

http://sbnc.khobbits...gs/redpower.htm (if it doesn't lead to the right spot, check #redpower on IRC or browse the logs in the link)

That is the logs from Redpower, go look back around 16:00. Slow talks a lot about it. She is working a lot because she has to, there are 2 bugs, his post earlier on FTB was a big joke and way to many people freaked out thinking he was serious. He doesn't know when it will be released because during the week she simply can't work on it lately. Some people act like no matter how much one works or what their obligations are that they have plenty of time to also work on side projects. Anyone who has graduated school knows that just isn't the case.

It will get here, and real soon, just a little more patience.

I still don't get how anything is OP in a game where you decide how you do something given the tools at your disposal. Even vanilla aspects are OP under the guideline of what is used to determined it in this game. Minecraft is a sandbox, some mods try to wall in a small section other allow you free reign. I personally prefer multi-block structures but when the first mods were coming out they weren't all that viable or easily doable even though the first multi-block item was a double chest which is a vanilla item. I definitely lean heavily toward the mods that require multi-block structures and more and more are going that route (railcraft and TC3 as two examples) but it is possible to use items in a way from most of the mods that are complained about as "ruining balance" (whatever that is) that don't do that at all, it just takes a little creativity. I am the type that likes having many tools for every job available to me so I can usually find many unique, crazy and overly complicated ways to build systems that could easily be done in a single block but just because it allows it by no means does it mean you have to do it that way :D

When is 1.4.6 coming out? this week or next? I personally don't see a release until .6 drops but I could be surprised. I want my RP as much as anyone!

Unfortunately, that cannot be. Though forge obsoleted modloader, the noobs that make mods still support it. If you go to PMC, you won't see a single mod that noobs spent more than five minutes with a mod maker on. That being said, noobs support tekkit because the yogscast supports it. Since the yogscast is being payed to support tekkit, unfortunately it will never die.

Once FTB has their full packs out even Yogscast is switching over to FTB, at least that was what Slow announced during his stream a week or so ago when he described what the various packs will be and currently it seems only RP2 is holding up the full release of the rest of the mod packs.

You can tell how important RP2 has become to the community when everything from video series, server launches and mod packs are held up by one mod not being released.

Also, who says it's going to be Redpower 2 Pre-Release 6

Eloraam, Direwolf, slowpoke, soaryn, ecu, arishi, and every other person that has used it on forgecraft. It was currently on RP2Pre6a12 (Red Power 2 Prerelease 6 alpha 12)

@Darksire: Please drop it. Your posts are not constructive in any manner. You have said those things countless times, and I am sure you are doing this to simply incite another flame war (i.e. You are trolling).

Back on topic: Direwolf just showed another bug (which might have been, probably, fixed by now). The deployer + block breaker combo he is using for making the arm for the Quarry is producing Bundled Cabling.

Haven't watched it yet but if it is doing that, it is almost certainly a config error like when I would get MFSU's from mining a certain ore. Once they go in and adjust the configs so they aren't conflicting that type of problem would be solved.

For the post's regarding frames being overpowered....in the terms of RP they are perfectly balanced when it comes to construction and electricity usage. If anything, frames are one of the most balanced aspect of any technical mod as it is entirely up to you to make them do anything. That is not the definition of a "magic block". The magic blocks, which there aren't many of these days, were the single 1x1x1 block square that could perform absolutely insanely complex operations all by itself with no intervention other than crafting.

And for gods sake, stop calling things OP...the concept is almost entirely subjective and in my mind there are only a couple of items that can be considered that in all the popular mods. You might as well call a wheat farm and diamond armor OP in vanilla as you are god once you get that. It's a silly notion, MC is one of those games that other than the magic block (the true magic block as described in my post not what is described above just because someone doesn't like it) NOTHING is OP.

AWW.. I just realized that TC has worldgen, so I won't be able to easily add it to my world.
Unless I plant a ton of silverwood trees at strategical locations.

It has worldgen that you can gen in with a simple config setting into an already gen'ed world. Amazing ;-)

Am I right thinking it's stopped or this is just a wrong feeling ? If I ask it, it's because we can't access to the website : http://www.eloraam.com/ : it says me error establishing a database connection. Moreover, there wasn't any version or prerelease for 1.3.2, and we have not any information about one of these for 1.4.4.

So, is it really coming, or it is an abandonned mod ?

    Thanks a lot for reply

(sorry if my english is bad, I'm french)

    Romain

Most info/discussion takes place on IRC at #redpower and #direwolf20 as well as twitter @therealeloraam but Direwolf20 retweets everything she posts. Also Direwolf20 and friends talk about it a lot and use the pre-prerelease version in his Server Play series on youtube.

Her website has been down for a couple days now but it's definitely coming.
    Quote from cutegremlin

The website is down because eloraam has no need for it anymore. Mod api has a direct download capability through you minecraft client and there is no point in paying for the website to keep the old dl going.
The next update will be 1.5 and red power will be able to be downloaded and installed through your client 1.5 in around 4 or 5 weeks time

This is incorrect, even though it says so on the MCF homepage in that discussion, Dinnerbones took to twitter and squashed that. That's not coming for a while.

Close enough for me, just doesn't have a sickle, something I don't generally use anyway. I like chopping the wood out then setting it all on fire and watching, far more entertaining.

Remember when you could burn down an area further than you could see with an accidental Flint-n-Steal to some leaves? :D I destroyed my entire first build of over a dozen wooden structures that way back in the early days of MC. It isn't nearly as fun now using fire to trim tree leaves, it is a whole lot safer though ;-)

Nobody she associates with have started talking about good news (aside from DW in a video recorded before 1.4.5 came out) about us possibly having it by now. I'm sure we will know about it before it's listed as a download.

Good news is, aside from knowing what it will cost resource wise, I have been able to plan my windmill farm layout based on the size off the pic and conservative estimates from above on how much energy they produce. I have also prototyped a few tube in frame builds the best I can without knowing the specifics. The possibilities from integrated tubes in frames alone is amazing. I gotta admit, the sorter changes are nice too. So many plans that when I finally get it I am not going to know where to start and will end up spending the first 30 mins staring at the screen :D
