I'm hoping for this roleplay to develop so that every role is just as important. The Captain and First Officer will obviously be quite important, but other roles will hopefully play just as big of a part. The pilots are obviously needed to fly the ship, the doctors to keep people alive, the engineers to deal with mechanical failures, etc. There will probably be at least one time for each role when it is needed urgently. If you want to create a Captain or First Officer, go ahead, I'm not worrying about auditions or anything like that for those, as long as you follow the rules. The only thing I'd say about choosing which position to create is that if someone else has already created a character for that position, and there are other empty positions, it would be more helpful to create a character in an empty position. That doesn't really matter too much right now though, seeing as no one's joined yet. By the way, the order the positions are listed in has nothing to do with the seniority that characters in those positions hold, other than the Captain and First Officer.

Welcome to the War of the Survivors...

    You've already survived the invasion.
Now you must win the war.

Far in the future, after an alien invasion caused the massacre of mankind, only a small fraction of the human race survives. These survivors are the crews of the starships Assassin and Survivor, the only ships that managed to get past the alien defences. Their planet now desolate and uninhabitable, the crews of these ships find themselves alone and panicking. In their panic, internal conflicts begin to erupt within the only remaining members of the human race, and the two crews find themselves divided in their opinions. While the crew of Assassin elects to set out for a new planet to take up residence on, the crew of Survivor insists that they must remain behind and develop a more specific plan while searching for more survivors on Earth. Under such an extreme amount of stress, the survivors find a war brewing between their ships, ready to explode into conflict in a mere second.

posted a message on Far Survival (Prehistoric. Survival. Not accepting any more. OOC thread.)

    Name: Icarus Fverilin

    Age: 30

    Gender: Male

Appearance: Icarus is a fairly tall man, with jet black hair, pale skin, and pale, icy blue eyes. Having a bad habit of working late shifts at the hospital, Icarus fell asleep in his office at work while typing a report. He woke up on the island wearing his light blue medical uniform and white lab coat.

Description & History (Bio/Other): Icarus Fverilin, born to a fairly wealthy and privileged family, is a very successful man. As a young boy, Icarus aspired to become a skilled doctor or surgeon, his hopes set high. He pursued his passion with the help of his family’s wealth, becoming quite successful in medical school and soon graduating. Icarus was able to get a job quite easily, and soon was a skilled surgeon at a quite respectable hospital.

Although at first he may seem like a fairly decent man, very crisp and professional, Icarus is rarely polite, and is constantly found making dry, sarcastic comments. He is quite a stubborn man, putting his own needs before those of others and sticking to his points of view and only his. Icarus can, quite often, be extremely pessimistic, however during a few rare moments when Icarus is in a good mood, he can show a slightly more light-hearted, optimistic side, and even occasionally share an uncommon laugh with others. He can appear very unempathetic at times, however is truly a compassionate man inside, and understands and even relates to the emotions of others.

Icarus’ skills have quite a wide range of usefulness and relevance to life. His medical expertise is definitely one of his most useful skills, coming into action quite often. He is also quite hard to anger or frustrate, allowing him to navigate the issues of social interactions while trapped on an island quite well. Icarus stays calm and works very well under stress, partly a natural trait, and partly due to years of training in medical school to stay calm under stress during procedures. In contrast, some of his less useful skills are also quite prominent. Icarus is an accomplished violinist, and while this skill can provide a sense of calm to others and himself at times, it is fairly irrelevant a lot of the time, and Icarus has grown quite fond of his violin over the years, to the point of obsession. Due to his love for his instrument, Icarus has two violins, one at his work and one at his home. The violin that he kept at work was at his feet when he fell asleep, and ended up on the island with him.

Icarus does have quite a few skills, however, like all human beings, he has his weaknesses as well. Among them are his sometimes aggravating personality, his negativity, and his prioritisation of his instrument above all else. Another major flaw of his is his over confidence, coupled with his arrogance. These two together cause Icarus to never doubt himself or his decisions, putting him into extremely dangerous situations at times, just when he thinks he’s won and has let his guard down.

((Note: If the part about his violin being with him on the island is unrealistic, I can take it out))
