Why has my journal post turned into a contentious jumble of troll calling and whether I hacked or not? It's kind of sad, I just want to share this experience.
Yes, but, um... the far lands aren't a thing anymore. They were in beta versions. They no longer exist, which means that if that is a real screenshot, you are in a VERY old version.
Everybody, there is something that needs to be addressed. As a fact, about %70 of the Minecraft community believes that Herobrine is a real thing and has actually been in the game. There are large reasons that this is not true. The whole "Herobrine" thing originated as a hoax. Now, as a part of the Herobrine belief, it is described that this supposedly blind being originated as a glitch. Now, to anybody who believes in such, let me explain to you what a glitch is: a glitch is merely an error in the source code of a computer program. In some contexts, they can be more crucial than just a bug, but a glitch is just an error. In the Herobrine story it is said that Herobrine originated as a glitch. To those who suggest that Herobrine originated this way, it is being implied that a source code error produced a sentient being there to kill your player. That is way over far-fetched. If any of these myths about this mysterious "in game" character were real, this would all have been intentional. Mojang is not behind this. Now, I know you are thinking, "what about in the release notes? In every update it keeps repeating, 'removed Herobrine.' That's always been there!" Well, that was a joke created by Mojang after the Herobrine concept became a large community icon. Herobrine wasn't in the game to begin with. He has never appeared in any version of the game, and he won't unless the user has intentionally modded his own client to see what Herobrine is like.
How do I know all this? Besides the fact that I'm not very gullible, there is an entry on Minecraft Wikipedia that explains the origin of the hoax and how it came to be. For all those that are interested.
My goal here is to increase awareness of how much of a joke this whole thing really is. If you agree with me, please like or comment down below. You should also share to increase the much needed awareness. To those who disagree, you may express so in the poll above, but please do not write down hate comments. Polite and strait forward debate is welcome.
I know you're a troll because you've put a picture of herobrine in the picture and you're just trying to get attention.
Wow! You are probably the first user who doesn't believe in Herobrine. People these days... they're gullible, or so it seems. %65 of the community believes in that hoax. It's pretty crazy. You've officially won my respect.
To just clarify, with Optifine it was a thing prior to 1.8. Prior to 1.8, and to my knowledge, the game only made use of a single thread officially for loading the world (mods could use their own threads for their own tasks, for example I know that the function of the Equal Trade foci / wand in Thaumcraft runs on a separate thread), Optifine allowed for multi-core world loading by using multiple threads to load the world.
Without mods, no, 1.7 and below are single-threaded and make use of only a single core (to my knowledge). With mods, yes, technically.
So to clarify, they DID add threads in vanilla Minecraft in 1.8?
1.7.10 and below don't take much use of multi-core processors (except if you have Optifine), but 1.8 does. Each dimension is running in it's own thread.
I must say: it's nice to see someone who hates Intel GPU units. They're not very good. To anyone reading this, if you can, buy NVIDIA type GPU. It is definitely worth it. Also, something to add, from what I've heard (don't quote me on this) Minecraft does not actually take into account the number of cores your CPU has, so CPU cores don't really change things much, but if you have Optifine then I believe that actually contains code that will make that possible. Again. I'm not too sure.
I beg to differ. These are really good considering you're still new with Blender! Let me tell you, as a Blender user myself, no matter how much you learn, there's always more! Keep up the good work!
I mentioned I was astonished at how long those renders took, and I have to admit, I see why now. Prior, I had never really changed my samples. Good looking images come at a cost.
Also I don't think there is anything dangerous in the .exe files. I use three separate anti-virus/malware programs and none of them dislike them. I just have problems getting them to run reliably in Windows 7.
That is, of course, just my experience and my opinion and is worth what you paid for it. YMMV
Hmm... I use Norton360 for my anti-virus software. Interesting. How do I run the .jar on a Windows PC? I use Windows 8.
Um, I think I should mention that my anti-virus software thinks AmistExporter.exe is unsafe. I think everybody should know that to keep their computers safe.
I've watched your animations and none of them seem to be anywhere even close to the complexity of even my stills, and don't seem to use Cycles
Yes, I am not a pro at Blender. You're work is far more advanced then mine. There's so many aspects of Blender that I haven't even begun to scratch, such as video compositing and it's internal game engine. Isn't it a miracle that Blender is open source? XD I just generally don't like using Cycles. Although, I admit, it is pretty useful for some tasks; but less useful for others.
Even if you aren't a huge fan of my animations, thanks for taking the time to look at them!
And yeah, maybe they wouldn't render nearly as fast as I thought. But I'm still shocked that your stills take several hours to complete.

Well, derp. It's real. It is a old version. That is proven by the absence of the hunger bar. Exactly which version did you create that world in?

You just LOVE trolling, don't you.

Excellent question there!

Is there a release that works with 1.8.3? One that can find ocean monuments?

DOF? What does that stand for?
