    I agree with the gingerbreadman and the marshmellow chickens, though marshmellow chickens should be called peeps (like the easter marshmellow candies). a saddle isnt a bad idea :).

    May i also suggest gummy bears since 1.10 added polar bears i think it would be fitting. :D

    as a server owner i hate 1.9's combat update and will not upgrade to it until a mod comes out that forces it back to 1.8 status. most of my players dont want to upgrade b/c if they have bad connections or crappy computers, timed strikes are going to get them killed a lot more than they would have before the update, simply because of lag.

    Ask anyone who's ever had their MC start chugging in combat, the instinctual reaction is to spam click hoping you'll hit that creeper before they explode and kill you b/c you cant get out of the way b/c your game is happily freezing. Lag is still a real problem on multiplayer, especially with forge. I dont see how timed strikes are going to make combat any easier when your connection isnt the greatest, or the server/client is lagging.

    my other complaint about the new combat system is i run with mods and pretty much always have. your just incentivising me to use my sword LESS and use an assault rifle or crossbow MORE. Not to mention that if i was hungering for shields and dual weilding theres battlegears mod... Now that weapons generally do the same damage with a good timed strike theres no point to go after higher tier weapons. reducing armor values is only going to make me use more post diamond armors given by mods like obsidian armor from mekensism or power armor...

    Combat was fine the way it was in 1.8. all they needed to add was shields and dual wield and everyone would have been happy, but what they gave us is something that feels more like a bug that needs patching rather than a combat update.

    Currently I am compiling a list of developers who can help maintain a massive forgebukkit server and I plan to have 3-4 java coders by the end of the month. While I cannot fully help you maintain EBXL, I can however deal with porting for updates and downporting for older versions of existing mods If i manage to get this team of coders soon. This isn't the only mod that I cannot use with my server currently for either being too old or too new.

    The biggest problem with using forgebukkit is it was discontinued after 1.7.2 and the 1.7.2 builds are highly unstable, so i am truely stuck with 1.6.4. If you manage to get ahold of nightshade, let me know. I have used this mod ever since the golden days of 1.2.5 and I do not wish for it to die.

    p.s. about the merging with EBXL, that was announced over a year ago and I do look forward to a full merge (a couple of tools don't really matter) but with my servers release planned soon, I cannot afford to wait around any longer.
