Depends on the game really. I play on hard almost entirely in my main SSP game. Unless of course I forget to put it back on hard after playing peaceful on superflat hahaha. I used to switch to peaceful all the time on my old games. No longer!
I suggest you dig a hole. Just dig stairs about 3 blocks down and clear a room. Before night try and get about 20 logs. You can then turn those logs into A. a door for the top of your hole B. Tools for mining/chopping/whatever C. Charcoal for torches
If you need recipes for any of those things just go to the Minecraft wiki.
Very vague and a pain to read with all those capitals. Is it placed like cake? If so, how many slices? What about saturation?
I'm sorry you had trouble. But as I believe I have said I just want the idea to get to Mojang and let them decide on whether its like cake. Personally Id rather it not be like cake. Also by saturation what do you mean? Do you mean how many food bar things would it fill? If so I believe I said in the OP.
This is actually a good idea, because then if you substitute pumpkins for anything, we could have different pies. With properties like cake; being placed, feeding more hunger, etc.

I recently played the xbox version of minecraft (1.6.6 version, no hunger bar) and I realized it's @#!*% hard. Because of only one reason: the absence of hunger bar.
Yes, hunger pushes the game far too easy.
However, I'm not one of these pre-adventure update worshippers that keep asking for hunger bar removal.
I think they must keep hunger.
So, the solution is: Make health regeneration due to full hunger much slower.
I would be happy if we would heal 1 heart per 4 minutes when the hunger is full (on easy), 1 heart per 8 minutes on normal and 1 heart/16 min on hard.
I'd change it a little. Make it so it is on easy 10 seconds for a heart, on medium 30 seconds for a heart, on hard its 1 minute for a heart, and on hardcore make it like 3 minutes. Also the food bar goes down too fast. In order to balance this suggestion you would have to make the food bar go down 3xs slower.

Until you change it I'm gonna say no.
