Nnystyxx, am I alone when I say that i think that it would be really cool to see a horse infusion for making a Pegasus or some kind of demon bat horse?

I did actually originally plan to make a flying horse, although it would be more along the lines of replacing the horse's hooves with thaumostatic devices. The plan was abandoned because the harness and its associated mechanics (haste enchantment, girdle, etc) already fill the flight niche pretty well - making a flying horse would either render them obsolete (if it was faster or didn't require fuel) or not be worth lugging an animal around.

Since the Endersteed is the only mutation species that can be mutated into a more advanced species, I would like to suggest another mutation mutation. The Guardian Panthers are a great way to enhance barely useful ocelots. Considering their size I was thinking it would be wonderful to further mutate them into a ridable variety.

This one is a much-requested feature, and I'll definitely try to implement it in a post-1.2 update along with other creature meta-infusions.

I hope you can make it so the dimensions wouldn't be too laggy, I plan to make a server with this mod on it at some point and I don't want it overloaded by node dimensions.

All pocket planes technically spawn in the same dimension in order to minimize resource use, but they are separated by opaque and unbreakable barriers so that the player does not notice.

Here are (most of) the new devices for 1.2. Golem animation powder lies elsewhere in the tech tree.

    [further shrieking]

Node manipulation has been a relatively untouched aspect by mods until now, so this is very exciting news. Feel like tossing another little teaser at us who have been fervently dreaming up hypothetical node-dimensions? Nodimensions, even?

This is the part where I'd post a picture and some lore for the Teleological Recombinator, except that I haven't quite gotten around to rendering it yet. :P

The Recombinator is a slightly unpredictable device which greatly accelerates node bullying and adds a chance of fusing the siphoned aspect with one that the node already contains. If you'd like to reduce the randomness of the process, feeding it essentia increases the chances of producing that aspect (assuming its components are present).

    Quote from Chiyuri»

What happen if there is more than one aspect in the node being used to make a dimension?

The algorithm generates each aspect's terrain, ore/fluid/etc. pockets, structures, and miscellaneous dressing, some of which may overwrite individual blocks, to produce a hybrid dimension. So a node with all six primal aspects may generate with water at sea level, a layer of dirt and stone with a layer of netherrack and lava beneath it, clouds in the sky, and ores of all six shards. Depending on how the Perlin noise comes out, mountains of netherrack might rise out of low-lying earth.

Things get a bit more exotic when compound aspects are included, of course. You might end up with quicksilver slimes fighting very confused wolves atop a tower of books, brains, and trapped human souls.

Once we get these node-dimensions, we need a reliable way to produce nodes with compound aspects.

Did someone say "horrible meat dimension"?

Flesh slimes, giant brains, and the world's least appetizing terrain await if you decide to use a Corpus-heavy node.

One of my colleagues has apparently forgotten to take his anti-warp medication for some time. The past few weeks have been filled with rants about transforming an aura node into a stabilized dimensional breach, and how on the other side lurks a "frozen infinity" or the "potential for cosmic creation" which only awaits the proper catalyst. He claims that by passing a primordial pearl through this breach, one could precipitate the formation of a (small, finite) dimension which reflects the aspects present in the parent node. His eyes were wild as he described a so-called "pocket plane" overflowing with life, and another whose mineral composition is richer than any natural ore vein.

Even more outlandishly, my colleague claimed that such "pocket planes" were close enough to our home dimension that they could be accessed with a simple wand focus. This would be an unprecedented triumph of thaumaturgy... were such a thing actually possible. The Institute will have to watch this one closely, lest his delusions become more pronounced. We may need to forcibly administer sanitizing soap.

Folks have been reporting difficulties with the runic shielding recipe in particular, so I'll take a look at it for 1.2 - it's probably a mismatch between the item list shown in the Thaumonomicon entry (which is just a dummy infusion recipe) and the recipe the vat actually checks.

    Today was an historic success.

I had heard that an old colleague of mine developed a method of suppressing hungry nodes, and suspected that perhaps her device could contain the planar rift created by an overly-transduced node. After a single "vortex attenuator" proved inadequate (though it did slow the rift's rate of consumption), I rebuilt my containment chamber for a third time. Running out of nodes, I decided to take no chances - six beams converged on the rift as it formed.

I am now in possession of an unprecedented asset - a stabilized dimensional breach large enough that a fist-sized object could survive passage. The possibilities are... staggering to contemplate. Who can imagine how physical matter will react to being immersed in a sea of endless vis?

Meet the first of several new gadgets in 1.2: the transduction amplifier! Perfect for when you need just a bit more oomph from one of your energized nodes. It looks like turning on one is safe enough...

...and activating two or three pushes the node even further, at the cost of flux generation and bolts of hazardous energy. Turning on number four can't be too dangerous, right? It's not like an overloaded node can tear a hole in the cosmos or anyth-

    Whoops.

TH 1.2 is coming along nicely! In addition to stomping bugs (keep them coming, folks - I may not have time to reply to each report, but rest assured I'm listening) and rebalancing a few mechanics, 1.2 will allow aspiring thaumaturges to access freeform golemancy much earlier - no primordial pearls required. This alternate method will demand a few costly materials, though, so the animation focus will be more efficient once you gain access to it.

The real meat of 1.2, however, lies elsewhere - beyond the known cosmos, truth be told. In the words of Crimson Praetor Nessuimadreth:

Open the eye, pluck out its shining heart. Those-Who-Came-Before shaped worlds with it. Now we shall ascend to their ranks, for any node can become an eye if opened wide enough, and any eye can serve as an engine of creation...

Hey, I'm having an issue where horses infused with the Instilled Loyalty can't be ridden as a tamed horse. They also can't be tamed in any way. Is this a known issue?

Interesting. Instilled Loyalty completely replaces a creature's AI with a wolf-like list of tasks (so creepers no longer know to explode, and so on) but it shouldn't affect right-click interactions. I'll take a look at that.

1.1.1 has been officially posted. It fixes the nightmare crash as well as a rare issue where cloning/resurrection attempts would drain essentia endlessly.

Does the phrase "WARNING: Unable to override golemancer's bell! Animated golems will behave unpredictably!" appear in your Forge logs?

Interesting. Thaumic Horizons uses a Forge substitution alias to replace the bell with a slightly modified version, which is necessary for animated golems to function. Something seems to be tampering with this part of Forge. Based on the above I'd guess NEI, but are you using any other mods which affect item registration?
