I also have this problem, but I got around it.

If you're behind the router, then you should put your LOCAL IP in the server.properties file, not the external.

Anyone who wishes to connect to your server must use the EXTERNAL IP to connect. You can use either if you're connecting from within the network.

If it still doesn't work, check your port forwarding settings.

    Good luck. :tongue.gif:

Maybe its just me, but pyrokenises is working with my axe, not my sword!

Not sure if this was noticed, but just pointing it out. I seem to be suffering from the same bug.

Gah, nobody reads the OP anymore...

Thats because the later pages are just so much fun! :3 Besides, we can brainstorm without limits, then elminate the impossible ideas or modify them to fit our current limitations. That way, we generate a greater range of rune ideas than if we simply began with the constraints.

Also, curse your mind-reading rune, I was going to post the 3.0 outline today! :tongue.gif:

There's an alternative cauldron idea that I suggested to Llama a few weeks ago that I think he's still implementing? Instead of using a chest, it would simply incercept the packet of you placing blockets and add them to the virtual brew. When the right combonation of items was put in, you could scoop the potion out in a bucket. :smile.gif:

Aha, that'll work fine with Arnoldinus's rune, if it intercepts all blocks in a certain location. Pity about the non-block items, but it should be more than enough to make several awesome potions. :biggrin.gif:

Well, the fire under the cauldron is interesting. But for me the cauldron is too huge with your version. I voluntary proposed a quite small cauldron because it can be more easily inserted into buildings this way. And more, if the idea of making rune with a cauldron in the center is kept, we'll need at least a 7x7 rune with your big cauldron whereas mine only need at least 5x5.
An other reason : if you need a high tier cauldron, your version really need a lot of precious materials ! :biggrin.gif: Mine already need 17 tier blocks which is quite important if you need gold blocks i think...
Yours use 16 more tier blocks so : 33 tier blocks ! x) Just hope you won't need a diamond cauldron with your cauldron... x)

Hmm, I didn't think of that.... How about this, then?
    1st row:
    :Black: [] :Black:
    [] :VV: []
    :Black: [] :Black:

    2nd row :
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:

    3rd row :
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :chestfront: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:

This means it still has the fire and supports, while keeping size contraints down. Only downsides are the increased vertical height and the fact you can't use it without a stepladder. Though walking up a small staircase or a ladder to look into a bubbling caldron seems pretty neat, I don't think it would suit everyone...

Unless we can think of something else, we may have to dump the fire idea. :sad.gif:

What about a kind of cauldron which could be used for alchemy or spells ? I'm thinking about something like this :
    3x3x2
    1st row :
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:

    2nd row :
    :Black: :Black: :Black:
    :Black: :chestfront: :Black:
    :Black: :Black: :Black:

Maybe we can add torchs on a 3rd row. Doesn't matter, it's just an exemple.

During rituals we put some items in the cauldron (so in the chest of course) and after that we activate it. This will produce some magic effect depending of what we put in the chest.

    This way it'll be interesting to create differents alchemy's recipes like for exemple : 10 iron ingots + 5 redstone => 1gold ingot or 10 dirt + 10 gravel + 1 redstone => 10 sand ....
    Possibility are multiples.
Basically we put the ingredients (ex: 10 :Iron: +5 redstone) in the cauldron/chest, we activate the cauldron and when we open the cauldron/chest again the ingredients have disappeared, transmutated in the result (ex : :GoldBar: )

Possibly we can add that some recipes need a high quality cauldron. So for exemple the transmutation of iron to gold could need a cauldron composed of tier3 materials. Or some recipes could need a cauldron composed of a specific material.

An other way to explore : it could be interesting to create runes which incorporate cauldron in the center. Like this we'll be able to use non-blocks items (like sticks, bread, eggs, armors, ...) in the magic rituals. We put them in the cauldron, trace the rune and activate to produce some rune effect. The ingredients are consummate in the process of course.

That sounds awesome, but what about this?

    1st row:
    :Black: [] :Black: [] :Black:
    [] [] [] [] []
    :Black: [] :VV: [] :Black:
    [] [] [] [] []
    :Black: [] :Black: [] :Black:

    2nd row :
    :Black: [] :Black: [] :Black:
    [] :Black: :Black: :Black: []
    :Black: :Black: :Black: :Black: :Black:
    [] :Black: :Black: :Black: []
    :Black: [] :Black: [] :Black:

    3rd row :
    [] [] [] [] []
    [] :Black: :Black: :Black: []
    [] :Black: :chestfront: :Black: []
    [] :Black: :Black: :Black: []
    [] [] [] [] []

The :VV: could be either a fire or a torch. (For fire, there would have to be another layer beneath with a log, but it would look a lot better).

This way, our caldron would really be cooking!

Also, could I take this oppertunity to request a "dispel" rune? Something that could only dispel school-unrestricted spells would be nice. Asking because I almost always use the longest lasting flight spell, and most of the time it is more than I need, making moving around difficult. Plus, if we somehow rig it up to work with pressure plates and the like, we could make awesome spell-removal traps.

Not sure if its possible, but just a thought.

I've been playing, mostly. It may also be the fact that most people who are new to the mod wouldn't expect it to update as fast as it usually does, so they're more likely to drop in now and then rather than every day.

Also, the server I'm running is the plain .jar, with a .bat file launcher to increase the ram used, and the only mod running is the latest runecraft. >.> Not sure if that really helps much, but... *Shrug*

To describe it in a little more detail, my character speeds up in everything. Running speed, jumping speed (From liftoff to touchdown is about a quarter of normal time) and I think swing speed, though it's hard to tell. (Edit: Swimming speed too, which is incredibly useful. I want to try and use Flight next time, see if I can fly faster than a speeding bullet. :tongue.gif:) Its funny as anything to run past other people on the server at super speed, though. :biggrin.gif: I think it may have something to do with server stress levels; lots of teleports at the same time, and teleporting when lots of chunks have been generating, (teleported a long way, too) seem to be the two situations it occurs...

Also, currently having no issues running 2.0. Had some minor difficulty connecting (3 timeouts before I got in) but that may have had something to do with the fact the aforementioned chunk generation spree. Its my own fault for trying to sail around a continant. >.>

I still didn't find the end of it... :sad.gif:

There is an occasional glitch I get when teleporting, which only occurs when I teleport using the /tp command, and there are two or more other players near to the point I appear.

When this glitch happens, it gives me super running speed for a couple of minutes. Lots of fun to run around with.

Would it be possible to make this a rune effect? If so, I suggest the following rune.

    [] [] :Yellow: [] []
    [] :Red: :GoldBar: :Red: []
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:
    [] :Red: :GoldBar: :Red: []
    :Red: [] :Red: [] :Red:

    :Yellow: = Tier Block
    :GoldBar: = Gold Block
    :Red: = Redstone wire

Suggested Names: Haste? Expeditious Retreat? :tongue.gif:

Maybe Boost? I dunno, not good with names.

Edit: Turns out I don't need two players, it happens if I just tp.

Found rune, got it on the second try. :tongue.gif: I think you may have given us too many hints.

This one could really come in handy, I think. I ought to experiment with some high teir material, all I've tried so far is cobblestone.

I also was crashing whenever I used hidden passage, but redownloading minecraft_server.jar and reinstalling the new version seemed to fix it. I think it has something to do with installing over the last version of Runecraft.

Maybe make it possible to decide on chunk height in server properties? Or something similar.

Means that every map would have a layer of bedrock, but find one of those holes down, and suddenly you have an entire new region to explore.

Being able to set sea level/surface height would be good too, because then you could choose how much sky/underground you wanted.

And because its you deciding, you can set the height to whatever runs best on your computer.

Hey, quick question about the mod. Is it possible for an alturnate set of runes to be created, so that people playing on a server wouldn't be able to just come here and get all the combinations? Essentially, we could chuck a file in that makes every rune a secret rune.

Combined with the school and leveling system that was talked about, this would make runecrafting significantly more difficult and interesting.

Multiple sets would also help make it more difficult for people to "cheat".

Other than that, keep working on this mod! It's definitely one of the more interesting ones out there.
