posted a message on (I NEED HELP PLEASE) problems with launcher
    @Op:
Your error is most likely due to the fact that Intel cards are terrible. Your card is on the low end even by their standards, and is probably not up to running the game.

    @other guy:
It would help to know what model of Mac you have (or more specifically, which video card is in it.)

Well a .jar is not a .zip.

Incorrect. Jar files are exactly the same as zip files. The difference is that the jar file extension means "open with java" while the zip extension means "open with folder browser".

Try the command line method (Make sure to force-update first, to get a clean jar file):
    Quote from Risugami »

    1) Go to Applications>Utilities and open terminal.
    2) Type in the following, line by line:
    cd ~
    mkdir mctmp
    cd mctmp
    jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

    3) Outside of terminal, copy the class files into the mctmp directory.
    4) Back inside terminal, type in the following:

    rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
    jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
    cd ..
    rm -rf mctmp

    5) Run Minecraft, enjoy!

Have you tried giving the launcher run privileges, and the running it as a normal application?

I don't know if you noticed, but Minecraft asks you to log in every time you run it.
How do you think logging in will go if they haven't bought the game?

posted a message on Lag on Hamachi Server
    1)Open Server.properties
    2)Change server-ip= back to blank
3)Don't change settings without knowing how they work.

Anybody who wants to play on the server should go into their options and enable "Limit Framerate"

posted a message on FPS problems HELP!
Laptops with the 330M have a power saving feature called Optimus, which switches to the crappy integrated graphics card if it doesn't think you need the powerful one. It doesn't recognize Java (Which Minecraft runs through) as a game, so it doesn't use the good video card. To fix this:
    Step-by-step.
    1. Right-click on desktop and click NVIDIA Control Panel
    2. Select 'Manage 3D Settings' in the left pane
    3. Select the "Program Settings" tab in the main window
    4. Click 'Add'
    5. Navigate to your java folder (C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre6/bin) and select javaw.exe and press 'open'(this step will probably depend on your operating system but should be pretty easy to find)
    6. Where it says 'Select the preferred graphics processor for this program' click the drop-down and choose 'High Performance NVIDIA processor'
    7. Click 'Apply' in the bottom right and you're good to go.

posted a message on Not sure how to go about playing custom maps with my brother
You need to run the server software (on a separate computer, for best results) in order to play together.
Just run the server software, and connect to it by using the server computer's name (Right Click "Computer" and hit "Properties" to find this.)

To use custom maps, replace the "world" folder (located in the same folder as the server software) with the map you want to play.

The jar and the exe work in exactly the same way. The only difference is that the exe cannot be modded.

There is no way to check this.
If the code was bought before Dec 20th, it is alpha. After that, it is beta.

The board doesn't host any files. The quota is 0B.

Upload to imgur.com, post the link in between Img tags.
