I dont think Spam klicking will be removed, but I do think that it wont be the only nor the most efective way to combat.
So spam klicking will be still a thing, but almost useless in PvP, so it is only going to be useful for singleplayer and players who just got minecraft, so they dont need to craft a shield first day and learn complicetet stuff the first day to be able to kill a zombie...

Thank you for explaining it better than I did...

You where talking about the genre, not the theme.
Its like, when somone asks what the theme is for game xyz, and you say "Its a Shooter/MMORPG/RTS", you didnt answer about the theme, but the genre. Everyone knows that Minecraft is Survival Sandbox. Mass Effect is an RPG, just like Spellforce. In both games the Player runs arrount the World, does Quests, Kills Enemies, Levels Up, finds better Items and goes on... But Mass Effect and Spellforce have diffrent themes, while they have the same genre. Spellforce theme is light medieval fantasy, Mass Effect theme, like said, is Sci-fi space opera. -

While reading the comments, I was thinking...
There is not much of ingame lore that tells us a story. the biggest thing is the wierd dialogue after the ender dragon is dead... This means, exept for this dialogue, there arent many clues for what the Story of Minecraft is.
And before you say "A Story is not a Theme!", I know this. But every Story has a theme! Every! Single! One!
I can Tell, because I read and write Fanfictions regularly.
What Type of Story could the Dialogue after the Dragon dies fit in/imply.
What I remember from reading the Dialogue in the Wiki, those who are Talking to each other about the Player are Gods and something like that, and refer to Minecraft as "The Short Dream" and our real World as "The Long Dream" or whatever words they used to express it.
Thinking this further, it gets philosophical and creepy.
We could assume that the World of Minecraft was inhabited by Humans who had a Medeeval/Ancient/pre-industrial culture and then (re)discovered Magic and tried to exploit it as much as possible, makeing easey to create Portals to the Nether (or, how many People call it, Hell) where Objects with strong magical properties can/could be found, and building fortresses there for Farming huge amounts of them, finally enabling them to Create Portals to another previously unknown dimension called "The End".
Trying to conquer the End, like the Humans attemptet to do in the Nether, and were almost succesful, the Humans stumbled across Magical Ender-Energy that was too much to handle... The Ender Energy turned the People that where supposed to build Ender Fortresses slowley to Endermen, who managed to Teleport back to the Overworld, where they accidently scared the **** out of People.
Humanitys Efford to Exploit Magic backfired at them causing bad Stuff from other Dimensions to leak into the Overworld, leaving nothing but ruins, mutated Spiders and Plants (Creepers) behind. Then, Nature claimed the now almost human free Land back. Most of the left humans got a Zombie Virus they cought from Pigs that were/are in the Nether for too long or have been exposed to a lot of Nether energy. The Rest mutated into big nosed emotionless Human-like Beeings with extremly limited intelligence (Villagers) leaving Steve the only living unmutated, unzombiefied Human left alive, misteriously without any memories of his Past. (This is, unless you play Multiplayer, of course)
But After Steve takes Revange and Kills the Enderdragon (A Godlike creature that produces lotts of Ender Energy) it is revealed that Steve is in fact "The Player", only existing in a Dream within a Dream (within a Dream within a Dream? Minecraftception!), thus makeing the Real World part of the Story, makeing the Player able to go to Creative mod, add Mods and create a compleatly new Story.
Leading to a Ponit where Steve becomes/is Godlike himself. Implying that the Player (You, sitting in Front of your Computer!) is too...
This Story is only an Assumption.
To those who say "The Theme is up to the Player bc. of Mods, Maps and texture packs", that could also be said about The Sims.
Its Genre is Life Simulation, and without Mods, its Tone is mostly Akward, Children-friendly Comic Style that is supposed to be funny but somehow resembles our everyday lives in a way. But there are also tons of Mods and Custom Content that add an erotic theme, or compeatly turn it Dark and Hostile with Murderers rapists and stuff...
Also, there are Expansion packs that make it more (Pets, Whether, Seasons) or less (Vampires, Werewolves, Whitches, TimeTravel, Alien Abuctions) realistic. - To post a comment, please login.

I read, youre planing to replace Sun Damage for Vampire Players with Potion Effects.
Can I suggest that you leave the option to activate it in the Config for I can Imagine People enjoing this additional challange.
It is a little too much for me without the Night Clock or the Coffin (I Think the Coffin should not be much more expensive than a Bed. Like a Bed with more Wood) but there are tousends of more expirienced players out there than I am. (I have yet to find my first Diamond Ore block. yes, havent got anything Diamond legit in Survival. Call me Noob)

Something that needs a Look: The Nightvision makes it hard to tell if its Night or Day, and what is Shadow and what not.
I just died from Sunlight because I couldnt see the Diffrence between the Part of the Cave where its dark and safe mining Coal and Iron, and the dangerous Part lit by Sunlight.
Maybe makeing the Sunlight appear extremly Bright in a Contrast to the normal Textures of Dark Places... and the Night... So there would be a Possibility to see the Diffrence even with the Night Vision.

Ever played Skyblock? Or tried to Build a floating or flying Castle or City in the Sky or Ocean?

I Would use it.

If the Player still takes Sundamage while a Bat, it will almost instantly kill him. So there would be about no Point in Flying during Daytime. This would make it pointless to be a Bat during the Day. So why limit Bat time further?
I see the Bat transformation as a Way to travel fast and get Blood from Villages that are far away.
If a Vampire with a higher Level than 3 wants to feed from Villagers, he needs to build his House next to a village, making his Source of Villager Blood beeing three villages or less because there is no way to get far away and get back home before it gets daytime.
This makes a high chance of spawning more and more hostile Hunters in those Villages making it harder and harder to feed and survive.
Bat Transformation could be used to travel faster and therefore further, removing the Need of having five Outposts between my Spawnpoint (which hasnt changed since I first spawned for I didnt Craft a Bed bc of the dissadvantage of sleeping through the Night) and the nearest Village.
A Duration and Cooldown for the Bat Transformation would only lessen this Advantage and depending on how long the Duration and the Cooldown is, it has the Potential to compleatly remove it.
I wouldnt mind if the Vampire would automaticly transform back when the Sun rises and wasnt able to transform until the Sun sets again, but dont make the Bat Trasformation least like 10 seconds and then have a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Hope you understand my point

Do you have an Idea how Cheap the Bat Transformation is going to be, and how its gonna be implemented?
Bats are small, fast nd therefore hard to hit. But if they get hit, they mostly die instantly. But they can Fly.
I still think it would be great to have it just like that.
While it Bat form, the Player would have the Model, the Texture, the Health, the Resintance and the Hitbox of a Bat and wouldnt be able to do anything but Fly, Bite and transform back. No duration, no cooldown.
Duration would Suck because the Player would like run out of Bat-Time while in mid air and then die from falldamage.

May I suggest a weakness effect for Vampire players from Level 1 to 3 while in the Sun?
So it is less of a shock for new players to take damage in Sunlight out of nothing, for it was already a benefit to go out at night and staying inside at daytime before.
It could start weak but increase per level.

It works now.
The "Vampire Lord" mob looks cool, the Minion Babys are cute, and for I spawned some Lords and Vampires inside a Village, some Villager-looking Vampire-Hunters spawned.
Those Guys drop Pitchforks. The only thing is, the Arms are almost invisible. I think its because of the Skin not matching with the Model.
Before I became a Vampire in Survival, there where Vampires, and the Hunters where only near and inside Villages. When I became a Vampire, I stopped meeting NPC Vampires. Lotts of Hunters startet spawning everywhere in all Worlds even after removing CustomMobSpawner and Mo'Creatures even in new generated Worlds.
Now, that im at Lv4 they are more Dangerous than Zombies and Skeletons ever where. They outnumber everything. About 2/3 of what I meet in non-superflat Worlds are Hunters. In my Superflat world, they make about 45%.
I also had another Idea for a Vampire related Item.
A throwable Potion that spawns 15-20 Bats. The only Use I can currently think of is for PVP and for Trolling.
Confusing other Players and escaping from a Fight by use it along with Bat Transformation making it impossible to tell which Bat is the Player and which are real Bats.
It could be made from full Blood Bottles. But take your Time. I dont expect something like this in the next Version.
I hope there will be Coffins in the next update. So there is a Way to sleep throu the day.
Its a bit annoying to wait until Night to be able to go out.
You are already working on Coffins, if I remember right.
I imagine them Acting as Beds (setting Spawnpoint, allowing the Player to Sleep through the Day) and having a opening and closing animation and sond effect similar to a double chest when entered or left.
I also hope for multiple diffrent Versions of the normal NPC Vampires. Like diffrent Looks and female ones. Like there are Villagers in diffrent colors...
But I said most of it already...

The Report from the Third time in a row.
I didnt take a close look at those, but I cant seem to find a difference between those three...

In my Superflat World where I Test stuff out (Mostly on Villages) I spawned a "Vampire Lord" mob in (Of course it got attacked by Hunders instantly. They are or where everywhre) and the Game crashed.
For it was a Lv 1 one, and im sure that isnt supposed to happen... (I was in Creative and not a Vampire...)
After the Chrash, I tried to enter this World again, and it instantly chrashed again with about the Same thing saying.
0
As I told you, I use Mo' Creatures.
It requires a Mod called CustomMobSpawner. That could be the Issue...
Im gonna Try without it. Thanks.
0
Okay. Im doing way too many posts here, and I guess its a litte anoying. Sorry about that.
I'll try to do less Posts now. Maby every second or third day instead of multiple ones per day.
But there is another thing.
The Vampire Hunters are way too common.
In my Superflat World, where I do Experiments in Creative, they spawn all over the Place, outnumbering everthing else that spawns by a million times, and getting in my way while building. Its really Annoying.
Their Number is not much lower in my survival world. When they start beeing hostile to me at a certain Level, I wont survive a minute...
I kept thinking about Garlic.
I Agree, it would be great if it was added along with multiplayer support. But thats probably no near future.
The Way I thought about what it could do is actually pretty close to what it does in the Book. (Keeps Vampires away with its Smell. VanHelsing used it to Keep Dracula away from Lucy he was drinking from for multiple Nights) I just dont have an Idea how to get it so it doesnt involve murdering your Allies and still makes sense...
Anyway. Its now enough for today.
Ill keep reading everything that is posted here, but I wont bother you every day with everything I see or every little Idea...
0
I like most of what you said.
The only Thing I dont Agree with you is the Ritual.
I dont think it should take an expensive or complicated Ritual. Appart from Milk, I think there should be an even easier way.
For exemple eating a certain Kind of Food that doesnt require the Iron to craft a Bucket. Like an Apple (punching leaves)
Or just going into a Church...
0
Almost forgot, I discovered a Bug.
When Im a Vampire and diving underwater, the air Bubbles dont show up, but still I take damage after a While until my Head gets out of the Water.
