A NullPointerException was thrown - this probably means that something in the NetServerHandler.HandlePlace method was left unassigned.

posted a message on Particle spawning in blocks?
To expand on dennis6981's answer, the par1Str parameter specifies which particle is emitted. For redstone dust, look at the BlockRedstoneOre class (at least that's what I think it's called). Next, I would make a very hazardous guess that the next three parameters are the coordinates, and maybe the last three are the velocity? Test out different values to see what works.

so frustrating. I'm just putting modloader, than Control pack and minecraft crashes!

ControlPack does not appear to have been updated for 1.3.2 yet, so you will not be able to use it until it is updated.

But now they have time to focus exclusively on multiplayer bugs which will now help both SP players and MP players. It is still a step back performance and stability-wise, but it should get better as time goes on.

The multiplayer server is actually internalized in the client JAR - you don't need to download the server files themselves. As for Bukkit support on SP worlds, I have no idea, but something tells me it wouldn't work.

Ghasts can actually ignite, although they take no damage. Watch one as it goes through a lava column in the Nether, it should ignite.

Yeah, I don't remember any format changes. If you're worried, I'd recommend making a backup of your world(s) before updating, but otherwise, it should be fine.

"Little Red Riding Hood" is a work of fiction, and you have not defined "little red meowing hood" to have any given meaning separate from the work of fiction, therefore, until you provide a definition, your cat is not "little red meowing hood".

This should be hard to refute logically: The person below me is alive.

posted a message on Will 12w22's features spawn in older maps? (for example 1.2.5)
Your old world and everything in it will still work. New features will be generated with new terrain, old terrain will not have any new features. You do not need to restart your map, but you may need to go far to the new terrain. You can restart your world only if you want to.

posted a message on When does updating break world generation?
For this update, old terrain should still work, but none of the new stuff (jungle temples, desert structures and villages, or emerald ore) will be in any old terrain. These things will appear when you generate brand-new terrain.

Yes, yes, and yes. I support all of these. None of these items have any distinct technical reasons NOT to stack. I suppose it does sound a bit silly to carry 16 or more beds in your pocket, but then Steve can cary for 150 metric tons of stone so...

And, @Bumber: Your signature is made of win. Just saying.

Cauldrons already stack, I think. But yes to everything else.

I usually try to build on flat places, but I have built an underground house or two in my day. I do want to think about building in the sky or in a mountain eventually.

I'd recommend using glass over slabs, while both would work, glass would look better in my opinion.

1 - Hmm. Redstone seems to be a popular choice, let's go with that.
2 - I could be cliched and say diamonds. But I'll go with lapis. It's really too rare for its uses.
3 - One mod added white gold, which looked rather nice.
4 - Some passive cave mob.
    5 - Misplacing a block.
    6 - Blue is nice.
7 - Diamond apple. More healing, and if sliced and applied to tools, gives enchants.
8 - A "dead" biome far out might not be a bad thing. Gray grass, no trees, no mobs but yourself. Maybe the draw would be a mass of coal ore.
9 - Sky dimension seems cool.
    10 - Let's go with swamps.
