This is a bit OP, but it could be done. Maybe the potion needs to be more expensive, and it could have like a 70% chance of failing?
I dont really think that this is OP seeing as you must get the player down to Either 1 heart or 1/2 a heart and then hit them with a Lvl 2 splash potion of slowness. They are near as good as dead at that low of a health level.
I'm baffled as to how this would be 'OP', perhaps your misunderstanding the suggested effect? The damage is basically nothing, and only triggers if the enemy a already on death's door. This would be used kinda like a pokeball, where you carefully lower the target's health and nail 'em when they have the barest sliver left. The caution needed to manipulate the foe's HP correctly would make a fight were you are trying to get a statue harder, not easier

I like the idea, but I think picking up statues should be either harder to do (silk touch) or impossible. You could still destroy statues, but you could only move them with a piston or by attaching a lead to a mule and have it pull it where you want it, just to add some realism/challenge to statues

How about picking them up with silk touch instead? Make them like a trophy.
Ehh I think it would be to tedious to use a mule or piston to be able to pick up your well earned statue trophy. I do like the silk touch idea but I also think it would suck to not be able to pick up a trophy statue just cause you did not have silk touch. If more people wish for it to be silk touch only then I will add it.

I picked this method of implementing this idea so it works with a potion already in the game. This also will be a bonus effect and otherwise will not change the potion at all. This being said no change to the Potion of Slowness' name is necessary
I was thinking of a way to incorporate mob or player statues in game. I was thinking of maybe having a whole separate potion for this but decided that potions of slowness could fit the bill.
My idea is that lvl2 Potions of slowness could be able to freeze/petrify mobs or players. How this would work is when a player or mob is down to either 1 heart or half a heart you could throw a Lvl 2 pot of slowness at them and it would kill the mob or player and create a statue where they died. This could work by lvl 2 potions of slowness being able to do a heart of damage only when the player is at very low health. When a mob is killed this way they will not drop anything. When a player is killed this way however their items will drop everywhere as usual and the player will respawn as usual.
Statues would simply look like its mob or player counterpart but with a smooth stone texture. You could use nametags on statues to properly label them or maybe even for Statue characters in adventure maps.
Breaking a statue with anything other than a silk touch pick will destroy the statue. Silk touch picks will allow you to pick up the statue and place it where you want.
Is this idea silly or is it a viable way to add statue décor to MC? Please leave your opinion below and if you like the idea give your support.
I like this idea. However, the loot might be a bit bunch because ruins are easy to conquer and not much reward is required.

Your probably right with the loot thing. I may try to add a picture of a concept for my idea sometime if I can figure out how to.

I have a possible idea that could be a good idea.
An idea for a structure I have is Ruin Gardens. They could generate inside forests in an open patch of land. Ruin gardens would simply be small pillars or ruins of stone structures consisting of a mix of the several stone types (Cracked stone, mossy stone, mossy cobble, chiseled stone etc...). Grass, bushes, flowers, and small ponds would be commonly generated near or amongst the ruins. If you look around you may find some small patches of gravel in the ground with a chest buried beneath. Chests would contain the same loot as in temples, pyramids, etc...
you must be new here lol. FTB, galactacraft, arcamedes ships, space wars, star wars and star trek. all great supportive mods. also you might want to look up a little game called star-made. now i'm not saying that my application is the best. i'm not saying i have all the answers. but i'm not bashing other peoples ideas either. maybe you should get a clue before you go rambling off like that. i love the sky lands idea......but i'v done that....in fact i've been playing since indev. before facebook was bigger then myspace. before i had windows vista. and i'v been modding my minecraft game ever since. there is no such thing as a bad idea....unless it's tell someone there idea is bad. you want skyland? go get one of the 5 mods that adds it. till then i'm hoping for planets and space and space ships and lasers and astroid mining and pirates and blowing up planets.

I have seen enough suggestions (Poorly suggested many of them" that ask for things that are met with responses such as: That's more of a mod thing, you want that go to tekkit, Too advanced Mc is supposed to be medieval, etc...) that back my idea that many people don't want vanilla MC to get that advanced.

I think once generation takes advantage of Cubic Chunks if/when it is added to MC, skylands being added would be the better bet/fit for MC. Space seems to attract people/ideas wanting rockets, lasers, etc all things that are to advanced imho for MC. (They are things also that have not been received well by the MC forum community in the past if you search through the forums)
I don't know if rotten flesh is a reasonable item seeing that it is zombie flesh (Zombies prefer living flesh). Maybe putting beef, pork, or chicken on the hat might make more sense. Other than that I like the idea
The vagueness burns when compared to the hundreds of other gun threads. The only guns I would support would be simple muskets and I have given my support regarding that to other threads.
I kinda like this. The recipe should use gold bars instead of sticks just to increase its material cost. I don't feel it is that OP as you have to obtain a bunch of XP to really use it to its best extent. I agree with the aura thing. I am going to wait a little while before I give support or no support.
I play on a server where they have a plugin that lets you do this. Lets just say spawners have been monopolized and now everyone is swimming in xp. I will admit it is very OP.
This idea is a pretty solid one. It could be great for a trap to flood a room and not let the person escape. I could see myself using it as decoration also. Support

No crosses. Minecraft is played my many people of many faiths so adding a cross on the church could lead to a backlash.
