Yeah we did the server launch this morning, so I'm just not bothering with it now. I'm actually going to just use a plugin in the future to do this stuff rather than trying to figure out why a mod isn't working.

So the server wipe happens tomorrow. Here's how things are going down, at 6am Central I'm going to load all the files for LiTCraft 1.2 instead of the server doing it's normal scheduled reboot, it'll be taken down at that time. I'll make sure everything works and that there are no issues with the transition from development to production server. The server should be ready for people to join sometime between 0630-7000.
A lot of work has gone into this new modpack version. We have removed 8 mods, added 17, and updated another 44. We've also updated forge to the latest stable release, so you'll notice the loading screen is far more informative than it used to be.
Along with the changes to the mod pack, we have done a ton of changes to the mod configs.
- No more ore gen of multiple types of the same ore.
- Mining biomes now only spawn in the mining world.
- Big reactors now uses hardmode recipes and consumes a little more fuel to balance it out.
- ComputerCraft wireless modems were changed to make the range more realistic based on altitude and weather conditions.
- Galacticraft uses RF now instead of GJ.
- Galacticraft bosses have been made more difficult to make fights more interesting.
- Got rid of taint spread and warp effects in Thaumcraft.
We have also made some changes to our donation teirs to cover the issues with making sure we are abiding by the EULA. No longer will ANY in game benefits be offered to anyone. HOWEVER, we did get rid of Mystcraft and replace it with RFTools. So we have fun to explore dimensions for each teir on Patreon.
- Donors have a winter wonderland moon that orbits a small planet to explore.
- Supporters have magical land filled with exotic animals.
- VIPs have the chaos world of floating islands and multiple suns and planets.
Keep in mind that overworld generation and ores are in these worlds, so you will still have better luck mining in the mining world that everyone has access to rather than the aesthetic exploration worlds.
There is also a new spawn, you'll notice lounges for VIPs, Supporters, and Donors. The player lounge also has the public worlds, which includes a sun world that is forever noon for your various clean energy options (IE, solar, wind, and water) for you to explore. A mining world with higher ore generation that can be reset at any time. This way we no longer need to have massive holes in overworld (overworld oregen is stunted) and we have a world that can be reset at anytime without affecting the rest of the server.
Lot's of fun to be had this weekend guys! Hope everyone enjoys all the work that went into setting this up. I'd like to thank NISagent, Thatguy_2_501, and HexThirteen for they're work in helping me catch the bugs and test config options for making things more fun to play while still adding some longevity to your experience on the server. See you guys tomorrow, have a fun and safe 4th of July and we look forward to having you guys enjoy some independence weekend fun on the server!

I'm using ChunkGen
Jun 28, 2015Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Did another test last night, this time I did /chunkgen 950 1096 1000 1000
I put the coords in there because I noticed that ~ ~ wasn't actually starting where I was standing, it was starting at 0 0 instead. But yeah, I looked at the region directory before I started, and after. Before it was only 5mb, after it was 77mb.
But here's the map. But if this is really what's happening, this does me no good at all.

JM uses the server name you provide in multiplayer settings to create the data folder. Special characters are replaced if they can't be used in folder names. If the names you're using all wind up being the same, what you describe could happen.
Look in .minecraft/journeymap/data/mp and you'll see the folders I'm talking about.
Question, I used a chunk loading mod to load 250 chunks in every direction around me. It looks like it worked, but when I hopped in single player to automap this is the result I get: http://i.imgur.com/OfynQu4.png
It seems like automap isn't actually showing all chunks, something I need to do to fix this?

Use a decent map mod (journeymap for instance, bring up the world map and there should be a "tools" or "utilities" button, you want to auto-map and "all" not missing... sorry if that's confusing, I'm bad at giving directions around GUIs when I'm not looking directly at them) or a server mapper. See if the chunks generated.
Or you could look at the actual region files... but that's both complicated and not worth the effort as compared to just using some form of mapper.
I followed your advice, here is what I got:

Yeah, I have journeymap, I'm trying to find all that. But how does changing a map setting change the fact that when I'm flying along chunks stop loading that are supposedly preloaded? I spent all day loading 1k chunks out from spawn, moved about 15 chunks away from spawn after rebooting the server, and suddenly there was just nothing, it's like I found the edge of the new world.

Well, I did the same thing, except with dim 0, and this time the server kept timing out. Then the server couldn't boot back up because of a saved state error. So when I fixed that, I came in, the chunks are definitely not loaded. I donned some speed enhancements and took off north, got about 15 chunks away from spawn and chunks just stopped loading, turned around and tried to get back to chunks that were loaded and got kicked out. The server started spitting messages about not being able to keep up.
I supposedly generated 1k chunks around spawn... I didn't even get 15 before I starting finding chunks were not loaded. How do you verify the chunks were or were not loaded? The logs say it did it, but looking at the way chunks are loading as I go (or sometimes not because I'm moving to fast and have to go back), I can't see this as any sort of improvement over just not running this mod.

So the command I did was /chunkgen ~ ~ 256 1000 1
If it generated any chunks, it's definitely not apparent. It said it did it, and it was done. But when I hopped on and tried flying at mach5, the chunks were generating as I went along and the server crashed....
So, what and where did it generate if not around me?
Jun 20, 2015Posted in: Minecraft Mods
So, you are using the z coordinate in game as your y coordinate in the mod right?
Also, for some reason, evertime it gets to 0.124xxxx percent it's resets to 0.001xxxx percent. It never goes above 0.124, is there any way to tell how much it's actually generated out of the entire request?

And again! what the heck am I doing? I was literally just digging through some rocks and it crashed, last time I was placing a stone and it crashed.

I can't figure out what's causing this. It's happened 3 times today, and 4 times yesterday, but it's a new thing because it just started. But I can't figure out what's causing it.
