    I just installed Thaumcraft 4.2.3.5, and for some reason I can't make iron nuggets from iron. What's up with that? Is that a common issue?

    I assume "Early version of the new Transmutation System" means EMC. It might take a while before pre2 lands, though.

    Does anyone know if there will be an upgrade for more space in the alchemical chests? Just curious since the space is half of what it used to be. Yes, I know about the alchemical bag thing. But I'm more interested in just normal chest space. I'm not complaining if there isn't, though. It's still pretty good for storage, blockwise. :)

    And I hear that pahimar only has around 1-2 bugs left until he releases pre1g (both about Minium Stone transmutation). Also, his Wavefront Object PR got accepted into Forge!

    Personally, I'm a bit worried about sticking too much to EE2 stuff. It seems with EE3 we are delving further into traditional alchemy. But stuff like dark matter feels more like modern science, than traditional alchemy. I actually hope he will not implement dark matter(though he said he will), and instead make something just as good that feels more in line with the alchemy theme. There! I said it!

    True, but I'm not thinking along the lines of machines and such. This lightning rod, for example, could infuse a sword or some other item with electricity, or could be a requirement to bring the golems to life(just like Frankenstein). Those are just some wild ideas from the top of my head… but I would like stuff like that much more than just throwing things into the crucible and waving the wand.

    This would also add some more danger into Thaumcraft. A lightning rod might perhaps kill you if you go to near it or something like that.

    The Thaumic lightningrod

    The thaumic lightningrod is a very facinating device, its capable of harnessing the energy from lightning so thaumaturges can use it for powering their devices.
    The Rod is basically a wand of lightning, it will attract lightning and harness it,but after harnessing it it needs a place to be stored, so the rod has a buildt in Quicksilvercapacitor that stores the energy. The energy can be used to power a range of machines from many mods.

    That's actually really cool. But I can't remember there being anything in TC3 that requires power of any kind(except vis). I would like there to be, though. I'm getting tired of the same old research bench and crucible work. Thaumcraft should have more stuff like this, too. I would rather have TC blur the lines between science and magic, than to delve further into magic. Anyone agree?

    I don't see why everyone wants the condenser. All I need is the Minium Stone.

    Looking forward to the rest of the mod though, especially the ocarina, which reminds me of the one from A Link to the Past. I've been thinking a bit about this… it would be neat with some more items from the game, like the silver arrows. They seem to fit the alchemist theme pretty well, as silver is a symbol of strength in alchemy(correct me if I'm wrong).

    I really like this mod. It's actually one of my favourites at the moment. But to be honest, there are a few flaws:

    1. I dont care what you do with the nodes, since right now they seem to be little more than fancy wisp spawners(I love wisps though. Don't remove those!). I don't use jars too much, either. Usually I just let it into the atmosphere, unless it's rare. What's the worst that could happen? That's right, mostly just more wimpy wisps. Magic doesn't feel dangerous enough. Why not add more dangerous elements to the mod?

    2. I'm getting a bit bored of the same old routine. Research -> put things into crafting table -> throw things into cauldron -> wave wand -> get cool item. Sometimes it's a bit restocked, and sometimes you only do parts of it. But it's basically always the same old routine, and the process stops being fun after a while. So now I only do it for the items. It was so fun when everything was fresh and new to me. Perhaps you could add some more processes to be involved in the making of higher tier items, instead of silly stuff like demanding nether stars? I actually gave up advancing in thaumcraft because of the endless grind for wither skulls. The amount of hours involved simply was not worth it for me.

    3. Hard to get silverwood saplings. I just destroyed two whole trees and didn't get a single one. Not very sustainable, is it?(no)

    This is why I like EE. Four stacks of cobble stone becomes one iron ingot. That saves a lot of space. And if I need cobble stone later I can just transmute back.

    I have the same problem. The infernal furnace stopped working when I updated to the current version. The wand stopped recharging as well, and the googles don't work. It would be nice to at least know why. :(
