I missed this somehow. Please ignore my request for 10% transparency. The transparency is perfect! Thanks again for making this for me. Really appreciated. =)

The Helena Wells your referring to was a fictional character in the science fiction tv series Warehouse 13.

    Of course. That's the joke.

I can be dense at times. =)

Yeah. The water already darkens your vision, the sides of the screen are covered up leaving only a circle to see out of, I think that's enough. No need for another filter. Though I could go for some metal crossbeams if they're small enough to look pretty and not annoy you too much.

Metal crossbeams for you courtesy of Sade1212. Thanks again Sade1212.

I've done an old style one based on these pictures:

Description: With this mod, all currently owned pumpkins mutate into old diving helmets! Also, your world suddenly stops growing pumpkins, and sprouts old helmets instead! These old diving helmets can enable you to breath underwater!!     Somehow.

This is very nice indeed! Thanks so much for making this. I really appreciate it and it looks great in game. It really has that old time diver helm feel when your wearing it. Here is a couple images.

    Well done! =)

Thank you for the Feedback Telgar and no it' s not the slightest problem, the transparency was my fault as I work with layers in photoshop they tend to add up, so this time I copied the merged picture and hopefully the center is at transparency 50% so you can see, the gag is at night u can use it as nightvision.

The transparency can be set to anything between 0% and 100% if it is still not optimal just say a % percantage and I redo it no work only fix. ^^

The blue I used in the middle can easy be changed to a tint you like, at the moment the color is in Red Green Blue or RGB R: 2 G: 252 B: 255

I suspect that 0% or 10% transparency is what is needed. The thing is when your underwater your vision is more impaired. Here is an image underwater:

As you can see vision is somewhat limited. In daylight it works just fine. It's real clear. At night it even acts as night vision as you said.

    Daytime:

    Nightime:

If you would be so kind as to make me one at 10% and one at 0% transparency that would do the trick. I really like what you did with the pumpkin blur to create the feel of an underwater diving helm. Thanks again for your effort and time. =)

thats a bit more transparent, but i dont know how to insert them

Thank you for the edit on the image. It is more transparent. You can insert it by opening your minecraft.jar file with a program like 7zip, winrar, winzip etc. and dragging and dropping the pumpkinblur.png into the Misc folder.

    [I like the 20% opacity idea, but I expect I'd prefer 0%.

I think 0% opacity might be the way to go too. When your underwater vision is impaired even at 20% opacity.

The new stuff to work underwater is fantastic :-D
    bravo!

A unexpected side effect, is that now we can have a full flooded world.

Water World ftw! I can see it now. A world completely covered by water except for isolated patches of land. I like it. =D

Except in a steampunk industrial world set above the Nether world of the Morlocks, you'd find ventillation shafts and their caps strewn all over the place. :biggrin.gif:

For some reason after the Halloween update my one and only world of 5 months reset to zero Mbs!! Yet all my constructions were still there! But when I explored further afield some strange chunk goings on had thrown up the most weird and wonderful landscape features, like the remains of long lost civilisations. So, far from ditching it for one of my backups, I'm sallying forth. Found about 20 pumpkins at the base of one of these anomalies...my first find, so I don't know if that's a normal pumpkin find at all! Anyway, they didn't look natural in the landscape, so I wouldn't have problems with finding something steampunkian littering the landscape. And without your diving helm looking something like the real thing you wouldn't have the satisfaction of looking at racks of them in your underwater base, close to your airlock construction!! :Notch:

H.G. Wells wrote such great science fiction for his time. The Time Machine was written in 1895 and remains a great science fiction classic to this day. Him and his contemporary Jules Verne were certainly ahead of their time. I'm a big science fiction fan myself. I've been reading the genre for many years and can visualize your Steampunk Industrial world. Amazing stuff!

I too had my world go from over 40 megabytes to nothing. When i first loaded minecraft after the update i almost had a heart attack thinking my world had been wiped out some how. However, everything was there and in its proper place. I guess we shouldn't get too attached to these worlds. Although it is hard not to when you have put so much time and effort into them. I fear they will be lost one day. =( Your right about the diving helm. The pumpkin should be used as a helmet! Rows and rows of diving helmets.....i love it! Thanks for your input. =)

I'm currently working on a classic diving helm for my Steampunk pack, but only 32x32 I'm afraid! Check out my thread where I give my thoughts on the idea: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=48884&start=600

To compliment the Steampunk theme mine will second as an air vent in the landscape to the Morlocks Nether domain, and as a lantern around your base. :SSSS:

Yes and i am looking forward to what you come up with Glimmar. You have such neat ideas! I am sure i will want to use your helm too. I will definitely be keeping an eye on your thread. =)

Well how much of viewing field do you need or how close to the real thing should it be?

I loosely based it upon this and tried this 64x64 (guess it must be 1024x1024pixel) rename to 'pumpkinblur.png' and place inside the 'misc'- folder inside 'minecraft.jar' this is a rough draft say what you want to have changed!:

It's in ellipse form cause the game flattens the ellipse to a circle hopefully ^^

I can not test this myself cause I run the game in 32x32 texture pack size. So either screenshots or any other form of Feedback please, thank you :SSSS:

This actually looks pretty darn good. The ellipse is almost a round circle in game as you can see from the screen shot. I like the little radio device you added too. The only thing is that i can't see clearly out of it. Is there a way to make the view port transparent? Also i think it would look better with a wider copper colored border around the port hole window. Perhaps make the background color more of a coppery shade too instead of the gray color it is. I think if you did that then this would be just what i wanted. I hope i am not asking for too much. Thank you for taking the time to make the pumpkinblur. I do appreciate it. =)

What about that the pumpkin IS the diving helm!

I guess the pumpkin would have to be the helm at that. Unless you were ok with diving helms littering the countryside in place of pumpkins. I have been playing on the same map for three months now. I had to travel a long distance before i found some pumpkins so this wouldn't be a problem for me. I can see how it would be if you were on a new map though. I guess just editing the pumpkin blur would do the trick.

This is a really well done texture pack. I think minecraft looks really good in this style. You have done an excellent job on all the textures. Amazing texture pack. Cheers.

Edit: I didn't even realize that this was a 16x16 texture pack! It looks like it's done in a higher resolution. There is no pixelation on any of the textures in game. This makes it even more amazing to me. I had no idea 16x16 could look this good. I must say, i am very impressed. Well done. Thanks again.

It looks good so far, i like the cobblestone. The smooth stone seems like it would match the cobblestone well. Yes, please continue. What i would like to see is a 32x32 texture pack done in a cartoon style. I'm not a big fan of realistic texture packs.
