Sounds fun, the first thing you should always try is deleting .minecraft, and using no mods. If that works, try to reinstall them,

The thing is, - if drive space is the issue, making another world won't help you.
They could just make the size bigger on the first worlds.

Find them correctly, there are plenty of - even online - map generators that when given the seed will display your chunks. All you have to then do is dig a hole and wait.

No matter what you might think of the land above, the underground has become world in itself. And even as an Alpha Dog myself, I do really prefer it this way. I like the fact that no matter what we build, it will always be dwarfed by the endless underworld beneath. The cave systems we have now really add to the atmosphere of the game and epitomize what Minecraft Survival is all about.

The world generation is improving a lot, it has gotten a tad worse in places (such as the mountains aren't as cool) but in the general scheme of things, it is much, much, much better. Think of before when you'd walk outside of your house and see a bunch of biomes right there, a 5x5 desert, and a couple blocks of snow - - the generation makes sense now. Some people might not like it, but me, KingTrygon, and the devs obviously do. I don't think it's changing.

I believe that adding new options such as biome limiters, cave sizes etc. Any options at all would break a lot of stuff for me. I don't really know why, but it just isn't right for what I think is.

Since you're using a mac, nobody really wants to help you.
