posted a message on VibraniumCraft SMP (Status - Accepting Applications) [HermitCraft Like Server]

Hello! I would like to apply for the server.

    • Minecraft IGN: TeiscoDelRey
    • Skype: FireNationWacko
    • Age: Fourteen
    • Location/Timezone: Illinois, USA; central time
    • Rate and describe your Minecraft knowledge/skills from 1 to 10: ehh... Knowledge? I know a lot about crafting, a few 'hidden' mechanics, but not much command block magic. I think I personally would rate it around seven.
    • What makes you stand out from other applicants?: I'm... really not sure. An awful lot of us seem to want a simple vanilla survival server, and that's what led me here.
    • Why do you want to join VibraniumCraft?: As stated above - it's vanilla (a giant plus for me, I normally stay away from survival servers with excessive plugins) and survival (I see very few survival vanilla servers these days.) Plus, it was described as HermitCraft-like, and I recently started watching a HermitCraft series and loved how the server was.
    • Describe yourself: A bit energetic/talkative at times, although that's become a bit toned down recently. I will often stay silent while at work on things (I think; I don't know myself too well in this area.) I will try my best to be an active and hardworking member of the server.
    • Any additional information: I am a Catholic, I don't swear, I try to steer clear of 'adult' topics (see above, I'm fourteen) and I try to be compassionate to everyone. I'm a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, as my Skype suggests. Also, I like bacon.

In 1.9 you can directly place ender crystals on bedrock and obsidian; if you need it on a different block, you can use, as Dippid pointed out, the /summon command.

I'm not sure, but I think you can use /summon EnderDragon and /gamerule mobGriefing false to have a dragon that moves but doesn't destroy blocks, simply passes through them.

"kb" being kilobytes? As in network speed?

I believe s/he means knockback. Some hackers use hacks that prevent them from being knocked backward when attacked.

posted a message on For those of you complaining about 12 year olds playing minecraft...

Habition's comparison to MLP is actually quite accurate. Both are made for all ages (MLP was made so that parents could actually enjoy watching with their children) but there will always be those who ruin/misuse both. In Minecraft's case, (in my opinion), the complainers themselves, and for MLP, much the same thing. (What Habition said.)

While I get your point, I think it would be more prudent to make a thread describing ideas on how to improve these areas. However, the list is a good start on doing so, because it defines the 'what' behind the problem(s).

    Cheers! :D

posted a message on Abandoned Mine

Mineshafts aren't that plentiful in my world, but man, are they big, which is why I generally avoid them. If I start mining in one, I'll just start going mad if I don't clear the whole fleeping thing out xD

However, I do understand that many people like the mineshafts. To each their own, I guess.

    Cheers! :D

I would suggest compressing the map's folder (found in your minecraft saves folder, normally in .minecraft) as a .zip file and uploading it to a file hosting website (perhaps MediaFire?)

and then link to the download page for it from your forum post.

I'm not sure, but I think you might be able to directly attach the .zip file to your post as well. Make sure your post has a description and pictures! And this post should probably be in Maps Discussion.

    Cheers! :D

posted a message on In-game purchases

There aren't any new things to be unlocked ingame - once you've bought an account, you've bought the whole game. However, there is a lot of awesome Minecraft merchandise (plushies, shirts, etc.) that you can get by heading over to https://minecraft.net/store . About gift cards, I think that's a thing, but I don't know any more details on it.

    Cheers! :D

posted a message on Command Block Major problem.

I think DarkJ is right, I'm pretty sure gravity depends on whether or not the mob has AI.

Wow, we have practically the same avatar, just different styles xD

Is it okay if I build an adventure map around this, with this being a major location, as long as I give you full credit? :)

    • What’s your minecraft name? - TeiscoDelRey. :D
    • How old are you and what country are you from? - I am thirteen and from the USA.
    • Describe your play style: - I don't really have anything in specific, but I like fighting hostile mobs. Not that good a builder. I try to be kind to others, but I will sometimes crack when people misbehave. :/ I am against swearing, although I try to ignore it when others do it.
    • What’s your previous server experience (e.g. any previous bans)? - I was muted twice, but that was just a plugin glitching out. I have played on a lot of servers, and quit most of them due to boredom, griefing, etc. but I feel that this is the best survival server I can find. :D
    • Do you accept the rules? - Wholly and totally. They are entirely logical.

Note that I might ask a lot of questions on first joining, simply so that I may understand everything perfectly.

posted a message on Brand new to Minecraft.. Which version should I start with?

I would recommend 1.8.8, as it is the latest stable release. If you want less features, but (on average) less lag, try 1.7.10. Once you've got the hang of it, you could perhaps move on to the 1.9 snapshots. Make sure to back up your worlds before doing so, because they are far from glitchless and stable.

As kysler said, you could also try out mods, but I would not advise this for someone who is only just starting Minecraft.
