Not a single seed dropped. Ok "Plan B", make a wooden axe but don't use it on the tree but have it as a weapon for when night falls, hoping for a skeleton (bone meal) or a spider (string) to improve my food situation. In the meantime I built (with the 5 wooden blocks from the tree) a crafting table, wooden axe, and wooden pick. I have found a good seam of coal and some iron just below the surface of the island. I started digging down from the bottom of the blocks that make up the top of the hill. I also crafted a furnace to cook down my iron.

Night came & went but no mobs spawned. I hear the sounds of mobs somewhere near (perhaps those caves other have talked about). We shall see!

An alternative is that there are a few clumps of grass on the couple of tiny islands within rendering distance off to the east, but that may be considered cheating in some people's books.

Are you on hardcore mode? Cuz if you are, that's a real shame.

Also if you go to the Nether, using a portal just underneath (like basement level) the island, there's a Nether fortress. My friend says there are no blaze spawners, however.

Currently am starving. My health hovers precariously at half a heart.

My wheat farm has been expanded to about 6-8 wheats. They need to grow faster. :C

The seed was shown to me by a guy who I know through college. I took a picture of the seed and generated a world to confirm.

There are a few bits of tall grass on the island alongside the sugar cane. As long as you get one seed, with a lot of patience you can begin a wheat farm. (Hopefully you won't starve to death before long...)

Also, there's a couple of islands off to the east within a 16-chunk render distance. Very uninteresting except for a few strands of tall grass (if you were unlucky enough to not get anyway within the spawn island) and a bit of exposed coal.

Coal can also be found underneath the island if you dig down south into the little "hill"/raised portion of the island.

That's a very vague and unhelpful description of your piece of meat, because cuts of meat tend to not be of even size and weight. What kind of cut of meat is it? What do you intend to do with it? Why do you need 2 pound pieces? Do you need to cut all your meat into 2 pound pieces with no remaining meat left? (I should note that this is a mathematical impossibility.)

Unless this is some kind of strangely worded math problem. 7 divided by 20 is 0.35, meaning that 0.35 lbs equals 1 inch of meat. 0.35 times 5 plus 0.25 equals 2.0. Thus you'll need to cut 5 5/7 inch pieces of meat to have 2 pound pieces. You will have three 2 pound pieces, with a remainder piece of meat that is 2 6/7 inches long, and weighs 1 pound,

This is of course assuming that the width and height of your piece of meat do not vary. If they do, then I'll come back to the point that you need to provide more information.

I also acknowledge that this post is 2 days old, and that your piece of meat may have long since been cut and perhaps cooked and consumed. I just wanted to type this out because I am bored, despite having better things to do in my life.

General:

• Good writing is all about execution. You could have a fantastic, logically progressing, emotionally investing plot, deep and intricate characters, witty and wonderfully written prose, and a creative, unique setting, but if you can't pull it off and utilize that potential, your story is going to suck, and your readers are going to be disappointed. Alternatively, you could have a fairly standard setting with fairly standard characters and write the next big novel. Anything can be written well if you have the skill to pull it off.
• Research, research, research! Nothing is more painful to the reader than the obvious failure of the author to research their material. Nothing as an author shows how much you did not care when you fail to research. Note that good research adds verisimilitude to your story. It adds that layer of realism that can really immerse the reader into your setting.

Characters:

• Make sure your protagonist (main character) is both interesting and part of the main action. If your plot revolves around a war going on, your character should be one of the soldiers or leaders of that war, not a civilian living in a sleepy cottage who only gets to see the action through weekly newspapers. In other words, your protagonist should be the person most invested in the main plot.

Plot:

• Any information that the characters need to progress needs to either be obtained (preferably with blood and sweat), or already established earlier on in the story as information the characters already know. Having characters suddenly know things without warning or explanation is both cheating and bad writing. Remember, while you may be all-knowing as the author, the characters only know what you've established that they know.
• Plot should progress logically. Actions need consequences, and consequences need reactions. If your plot cannot develop without deviating from the path you have already established, either explain why the deviation happened or rewrite your plot.
• Resolve your story with something emotionally satisfying.

Prose:

• Brevity is wit. Don't take 10 words to describe something that can be done in 2. You'll find your writing is much better for it.
• Don't go overboard on the purple prose. To define: Purple prose is intrusively ornate prose. When done correctly, it can enhance a scene, but when overdone it detracts the reader from the story because they have to get through paragraphs of description to progress. Alternatively, don't make your writing too dry. "Beige prose" can be terribly boring and dry to read and can fail to immerse the reader in the story as it doesn't do very well helping the reader visualize. To summarize, balance your prose between utility and eloquence.

3. With that in mind, if your image(s) is very large, do everyone with a slow computer a favor and hide it under a spoiler
4. Be creative - Don't just post an image that you made on MS Paint with the required lyric. Make a pun. Make a reference, find an image with the necessary words.
