    Hey all,

    I used to be working on a map series a while back (maybe 3 or 4 years ago now?) and had tried on multiple occasions to reboot it all through different means but never really felt dedicated. After all this time I am finally ready to tackle the CTM map making process once more. I already have one map out but it is really just not great (I desperately need to update it, and I'm pretty sure at one point I was in the process of remaking areas until abandoning the project altogether).


    ANYWAY my real question is this: I've been gone for a while and was wondering if anyone could help me out with creating custom mob spawners. A lot of Sethbling's old filters no longer work (at least what I've tried) and I couldn't find other tutorials online. Is there a wiki page that could help me out?

    It has been far too long, being alone in this tomb. This monstrosity that is inescapable to the lost spirits, can only be transcended by the hero. The hero is trapped, deep inside. Yet, the Awakening will begin soon. Despite the name, the Awakening is a very unfitting name. The hero is rising now, restless. The time will be soon. We've been here for far too long. Maybe we may finally rest.

    Hey guys, I've been afk for the past week and a half.


    Anyways, while making my map (first area is coming along nicely), I thought to myself, could you rename a chest with bold and colored text?


    Has anyone else done this? I haven't seen it used in a map. It is a little glitchy, because all the chests randomly stopped displaying their color and then they started show their colored text a few minutes later (the text was still edited but it was gray).



    Edit: it appears the colored text turns gray when you turn on the GUI for Too Many Items. I found this out 2 seconds after posting this.

    In all honesty A LOT of maps are underrated on here, if I really had to pick a specific one it would be Insomnia, or Chipmunk's maps. Both I like and pertain to my style :)


    Ragecraft II - Insomnia? That's definitely NOT underrated.

    COMMUNITY QUESTION:


    What is an underrated CTM map (i.e not mentioned often) that you feel is amazing.


    I can't speak for everyone, but personally I think every amazing map is addressed to the CTM Community and they are then given a lot of praise for the map. But this question you asked has also made me curious if there's any underrated maps.

    We should have an actual poll to see which 7 maps should make up the "7 Wonders of CTM Maps". I think it'd be cool, and cooler if it was limited to one map per series (subject to change for maps such as RC3, which most people have yet to play and the spot would probably go to RC2 since it is open to the public currently).

    News for anyone who cared at all about my maps:


    I am going to start a new project. I know I know. I don't have a map completed right now except for my Jam map.


    The reason is because my other maps will need major work because I've looked back at the two I was working on and it was kinda sad. Making a new map will let me use my full mapping abilities since my old maps need major remakes to them. So, I want to start with a new clean canvas before going back to a messy canvas and fixing what was wrong.


    So, I won't have a map out until this new map comes out. But I promise it will be a fun map (I don't expect this map to be innovative, just enjoyable).


    I hope any of you (if any) who might have wanted to see my map completed are occupied with other maps at the time. I'm hoping this map comes out really well!

    2.) Ctrl + C

    3.) Click "save" in the little box that appears.

    4.) A pop-up will appear to save the spawner as a schematic.

    Why are some of those letters in bold? I don't get it? Is this a reference back to something or am I just blanking on this?

    im referring to people who make maps similar to NTWICCTM and advertise it like "A hard but fair map!" "Revolutionry gameplay!" "A new twist on the genre!" That kinda stuff.
