I'm confused... What bothers you? The fact that people clear out large amounts of land in their worlds?

See I am surprised about the amount of land that Is clear but I am also confused on how much time this takes?

Understand this Is a server....If you look In this video they've cleared out a good amount of land and did
whatever with it...How long...I mean really >> That looks like It would take forever.
Other than the video a question I will ask Is how long would It take to do such things as
Flatting out a desert
or maybe
clearing all the dirt out In Flat land...
things like that >> How long do projects like this normally take...

Nope.
Starting a new world Is fun.
Mega build or not. I'd rather not keep a world for 4-6 updates and having every tool/item possible.
There's no fun to having everything you need.
That's why I either
[A] Make Multiple worlds
or
[B] Make one main world Until an update comes out
Tackle the fortress first. They are pretty rare in the Nether, so seeing one is pretty cool.

Nether fortress are no longer rare. It Is now 100% sure to be spawned In the nether. If Not which Is highly rare, There will be a nether reset button In TU9
The new map that I'm playing has everything (obviously)! I'm really excited! There are ghasts, zombiepigmen, cube magmathingys, and a nether fortress near the portal... I'm super excited but I don't know where to start. It's all kind of overwhelming...
What am I supposed to tackle first? For example, in the over-world, everyone knows you find wood, make tools, make shelter, etc... I'm pretty noobish when it comes to the nether. Do I make a base or something to protect my nether portal? In my old worlds, there were no threats but this new world has ghasts, and I'm pretty sure they can destroy the portal with their fireballs... Is there some sort of general procedure you follow for the nether? Thanks.
