Because of how viruses work, this generally isn't possible. Attempting to remove the bad part of the program is still removing a piece of the program. It's like saying "can you cut this cancer out of me without removing a piece of my body?" Well, no, because one is part of the other so no matter what things are getting removed. And unlike people, programs need to be 100% intact in order to function correctly. So even if it could be done, you'd still have a broken program at the end of it.
I suggest finding a fresh copy of whatever the original program was. Hopefully its still available. If not, looking for an alternative is probably a lot easier and saner than attempting to perform program surgery.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hello,
We appreciate your honest opinions on the new update,
But this thread could benefit from some more detail?
That would be appreciated

Hi,
This was done using a mod called WorldEdit.
A download link can be found HERE: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/worldedit
And is compatible with forge 1.17.1
Hope this helps.

The idea of getting inspiration to make whatever you want is endless.
You can look at real life buildings and get inspiration
Grian did this on the Hermit Craft series

I doubt that Mojang will add this back in as they tried to patch it.
there are plenty of mods that bring back the farlands.
