This mod has me really excited. I've always loved Christmas. I'm planning on starting a series on it after Thanksgiving. Do you think this mod will be close to complete for 1.10 by then? Thanks!
The issue that you are having is the custom map you're downloading is located above the cloud level. Check the Y coordinate and if it is up super high then the particles are spawning but they're just below you. Not really a solution to this but that is the issue you're having.
Coros I understand that you don't want to add in many more features but if you wanted to combine everything in to one I've come up with a way that you could. A low pressure is going to have several different parts to it and will be located in different parts of the map through different seasons. (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring). In Spring, Summer, and Fall the low pressures travel on top of you or north so that you recieve severe weather events or chilly rain. In the winter the low pressures travel on top of you or south so that you get a snowstorm or rain to snow, or just plain rain. Of course more powerful low pressures could have wind and varying amounts of severe or snow but this is just a suggestion if you wanted to go this kind of route.
Hey Coros, I am creating a storm chasing server for the mod where (using the flans mod) they chase storms and tornadoes and recieve currency for each storm they get. As you can see this would be very flawed if storms were not rare. I want storms to be the general control group with wind storm being twice as rare, hail 3 times as rare, f0 4 times, f1 5, f2 6, so on and so forth. Can you give me the suggested settings to make this happen? Thanks for the great mod! -Tanner
Hey Coros, I don't know if you've seen this mod or not but I think the idea of it would be incorporated well into the localized weather mod. http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2346379-streams-real-flowing-rivers It adds real rivers into the game and I think that real rivers and flooding would go great together. Maybe you should ask the mod creator to work with you? Just a suggestion, thanks
Coros literally said "still pondering tackling 1.8 updating, at this point I might just wait
for 1.9, going to try and gauge how soon that will be happening." That is going to be a while too. We haven't even gotten a snapshot yet for 1.9. So expect to be on 1.7 for several months :/

Sweet!

How hard would a quick update to 1.8.9 be? Shaders is a lot easier to use from 1.8.9 onward. Thanks in advance

You can edit what was in the advanced tab through the config folder located in the .minecraft folder in 1.8

make sure you're using coroutil and the correct version of both coroutil and the localized weather mod.

I don't think you understand how hard it is to update a mod to a newer version of a game. "Smaller update", lol
