My app is formatted correctly, I shortened a couple questions without removing any of their meaning. And you kids have to realize that servers should be treated like business's, TLDR does not encompass a 2 minute read

On a side note, I never received any confirmation of being Guard with my 2 page app and plethora of qualification trumping 99.99% of the people who play or will apply. Good to see that emotion is taken out of the system and its being run professionally :iapprove:

Things like that are not professional and would also not work. One C would tell everyone and each new player would use it. For this to work in a organized way theyd have to some how check who the old players who were donors were by looking at sales records or what ever and manually set a region that allows them. Wayyyy too much work.

There is no way of doing that practically. All the ideas of rewarding past players or donors sounds great, but the reality is that its near impossible to achieve

Just a tip, once the server is back up and there is a stable player base (1 - 2 weeks after opening) have a series of opening events. Hype them up from day 1 with a date, signs, announcements, etc. The event will make people play more / be fun and a great start to the server.

    1) Username: SupremeSloth

    2) Age: 19

    3) Time on server: In total, I played on convicted for a little over 3 years

    4) Have you read the Server, Prison, and Guard Rules: I have read the rules and are familiarized with each

    one. (noakii)

    5) Any experience with the prison genre: My experience with prison server expands beyond the 3+ years on Convicted. I also played a little on Killion simultaneously for about 6 months, and explored a few other prison servers. All of these thing puts together gave me insight as to how servers other then convicted function (including the staff, player base, rules / regulations). This will prove to be useful as we can not predict the changes in rules in players for convicted. I am prepared for every and anything

    6) What is your time zone: Eastern-Standard Time (EST)

    7) Why are you the best choice for guard:

Hard work, skill, and experience are traits every guard should possess. As mentioned above, I have over 3 years’ experience with convicted and another 6+ months on other prison servers. My knowledge for rules, especially on convicted is vast. I've had the time and necessary effort to analyze what makes a good, bad, reputable, abusive, etc Guard. Before the shutdown I had been a Guard for around a year, I enjoyed doing this more than playing on my FREE main account, as that was getting boring. This means I put in a lot of hours utilizing the knowledge I had gained about Guards. Skill is one more aspect of a great guards; this stems from ability to make capital gain, work well in important or urgent scenarios, and of course be a great PVP'er. While there are many other traits, these are ones which are beyond important for any guard to function and have a higher level of Gear / weapons. I had attained all of these to a degree higher than almost every player during my time on Convicted. I was not only one of the wealthiest (with an unparalleled collection of rare items and others), I had worked on my pvp as if my "life depended on it;" While literally that is not true, Convicted was very important to me so staying alive and keeping anything in my inventory or winning a fight was beyond necessary. Urgent or intense situations are another area in which I excelled, during my guarding times I was always well equipped (sharp 4, extra potions, powerful bow / arrows minimum). I would easily disarm any small occurrence, as most people did not have the ability to fight me. But especially for large break outs with 3 - 6+ people, I never backed away in fear of dying. I always rushed to the scene and had a large impact.

While I will not have my Sharp 4's and enchanted bows as soon as the server starts, I plan on working hard on my regular account to rush to the top. Another key thing to point out is that most guards are average players who only use basic gear, maybe a sharp 1 or 2. This is due to them not working hard, or not having the skill on their account (not being able to afford anything else). So in a sense, I will not be a regular guard, I will stand above and be able to enforce the rules with more weight. This is due to me working hard on anything I do, not just convicted. My knowledge of not only the rules, but every possible situation that can occur because I've experienced them as a Guard and a Free are more traits I possess.

Anticipation and excitement are another two large factors which will make me a great guard. Even from the time I left convicted (before my ban), I still wanted to play. I was never bored; I just had decided that I must cut my time on the server dramatically. But while I am in college / run my own business, I still have time to play for hours each week. Minecraft is the only game I play, and Convicted is the only server I played on for years (**I did play on a PVP minigame server for the last few months. This server had not community or social aspect so I do not consider it the same as Convicted. But what it did was not only keep my pvp skills, it sharpened them. My bow and swords skills are much better then before). Once It was finished for me, I had pretty much left minecraft as well; The same will apply once it opens. I am looking forward to playing as a guard and actually working my way up to the top once again. It will be a fun experience starting from the bottom and working through all the struggles of mining for hours, pvp'ing to make financial gains, and much more.

In short, Convicted is a server which I have devoted a lot of my time too. It remains as my favorite server, and I am anticipating being able to play again. My minecraft experience coupled with my Convicted knowledge and skills will put me on top. Shortly after the server has started I will have the equipment to supply to my Guard account which will set me apart even further from a regular guard.

Thank you for reading my application. I hope any controversy in the past will be forgiven; as it is for everyone else. And as a side note, I am a business / finance major and own a business currently. If anyone on the server needs helps relevant to this, especially any Convicted staff feel free to ask me. It's almost fun for me to help anyone with a legitimate business, as it has been a passion of mine since I was a kid. If convicted needs ideas to bring in money / players, or anything else, I'm here.

    8) Do you understand that nagging Wardens. . . immediate decline: Yes, this rule applies to nearly everything. I do not plan on messaging a staff member or anyone else pertaining to my Guard Application.

    9) What is your current prison rank: Currently I do not have a rank (as the server is down), but I plan on playing on my StealthSloth account and working my way to free extremely quickly.

So essentially the extra time is b/c most of the staff building is working slowly. Im going to be honest and agree that people have lives, responsibilities, and the lack of tangible reward presented kinda sucks. But this is something you agreed too. From my own experience, a plan (super tiny scale version or drawing for structure / layout), person in charge, 1 - 3 skilled builders, and world edit could have an entire block done (besides tiny details which could be all finalized later) in a day.

So this entire server could be erected in lets say 1.5 weeks if everyone worked there *butts* off. But like Shan said, that isnt the case. A small payroll was actually something I had planned for my prison server which I never got around to finishing. So a Bi-weekly pay for alpha guards and Admins / Devs (3 - 10 dollars every 2 weeks depending on your ranks). A similliar concept could be applied to the building process.

Spend 30 minutes (will probably take less) making a bulletin board with every task that needs to be done (examples: Donater block structure, signs in (x) area, regions, etc, etc) and assign a physical dollar value to each one. Could be anything from 50 cents to 5 dollars depending on the workload. This will of course require a 20 - 50 dollar investment out of Vipers pocket (which in reality is literally nothing, unless youre a broke child, which Viper isnt). But it will add a fun aspect for the builders, actually make them want to work and get the bigger (high paying) jobs done. And speed up the process of completion.

idk, just more ideas. Im not even sure if Ill be unbanned once its done, but I dont mind helping. A couple minutes out of my time to help anything business related is never a problem.

Speaking on the whole Opple problem, I acknowledge why many people dislike them. With all the plugins in MC nowadays instead of blacklisting them, why dont you find a plugin which allows you to change the buggs when consumed. If this exists it could be used to tailor the opples effects, and not just for regular use. There could be special days where different items do different (or some times secret) things. Like Maybe eating an opple on a certain gives you speed but drowsiness, or eating a fish gives you *insert here*.

Fun, unique, and creative things like this is what will keep it up, bring in players, and bring in donaters (revenue).

*and just a note, even if I come back or not. Dont wipe donor, its 125% the cost of the game itself, Im sure people dont want to pay again. Ive been preaching this since day 1, have donater which gives you regular perks (donater area, buffs, mines, etc, etc). But in addition, have items or things online that you could buy with real money. This is how EVERY large server functions, it allows people to spend endless money after donating (or before) on maybe In game money, a sword, a perk, access to an event that allows you to get money or special items. These 1 - 10+ dollar items will not only bring a LOT more money for the server, but again, bring in more people because it adds a new (more fun) aspect to the game.

    *examples

    -Sharp 4: 5 dollars

    -10k BP - 10 dollars

Im sure you guys have ideas, but you gotta analyze how the really big servers run and operate and take some notes. There are servers that bring in thousands if not tens of thousands every month because they always have new creatives ideas and purchasable stuff.

I have a suggestion regarding Donor that I feel be unpopular, but I feel it is a reasonable compromise nonetheless. It is no secret that the server needs money to operate, and it has been relatively lacking in income in the last few months before its temporary shutdown. I propose that to help with income, Donor is taken from those who have already donated and offered at half-price or quarter-price for those people. In addition to the same perks that were given before, those who re-donate could receive something special but non-OP, kind of like a commemorative item. Something like their name or player head on a board dedicated for two-time Donors outside the prison, or a special book thanking them and discussing the new server, or their player head, or a combination of the three, or something else if there are any other ideas about it. This way Convicted will get a surge of income that can be used to keep the server afloat for at least another several months, if not a year, while providing acknowledgement and special but not game-breaking treatment for those who have donated before the reset.

Problem with this is that they'd have to have an entire differnt framework on the site to make donor cheaper for account that already had it. It really is not simple at all. And forcing donors to pay again is a bad idea. Because most wont even play again because of anger.

And to address the whole side where you claim its donating, so its okay to make them "donate" again. 99.9999% of people who paid did not do it for the sake of the server, it was for prestige and perks.

20 minutes if a HUGE understatement. An entire server revamp could be done in a couple weeks if everyone puts hours ever day. Like 2 - 5 per person of non stop work
