Haha, wow. This mod looks incredible. I'm running it now, managed to get about 20 FPS by lowering the hell out of my settings. White objects look overbright, even with the brightness at a minimum, but that's OK given how amazing everything else looks.

I watched Notch streaming development of it, and even the early version that's just to test editing the INSIDE of a spacecraft looks amazing. I will be buying it.
If you're taking suggestions for what pokemon to add next, I'd put Pikachu at the top priority.
Raichu would be nice (given that my favourite pokemon is Raichu...), but you'd need to implement evolution stones before it'd really work out.
Yes, you chould probably make it with a simple Photoshop filter, but let's face it - that wouldn't end very well.
Going into some more detail, there ARE a few specifics.
One, don't bother adding an 8bit font.
Two, don't use a filter and go "hre it don i hop u lik". If you're going to use a filter, do it DAMN WELL.
Three, technically optional but very nice of you if you actually do so, include mod support for this.
Four, it's supposed to look like Minecraft's default 16bit graphics, but in 8bit instead. Don't make a pack that looks nothing like anything.
Finally, if you broke the fire animation, you officially failed.
So yeah, anyone willing to make this?
Oh, and I searched. There's no pack like this that I could find.
So I was in my tower, sniping mobs, and I noticed how horrendously innaccurate it was. I posted about it on another message board, and was told to get SDK's Gun Mod, which ended up leaving me disappointed. Then I came up with this.
The Crossbow
Basically a better version of the bow, it fires bolts (explained later) which do 7.5 hearts of damage, fly straighter than fully charged arrows, and fly faster. It takes some time (maybe 1 second?) to reload, and during that time you can't fire. Once it is loaded, it can fire a bolt instantly.
Crafted like so, but replace feathers with string:
One crossbow. It can fire as many shots as a diamond pickaxe can break stone blocks.
The Crossbow Bolt
These are to be fired from the crossbow, and cannot be substituted with arrows.
Crafted exactly like so:
That makes ONE crossbow bolt.
You can also make a flaming bolt, which will ignite the target if it isn't dead by the time it's been hit.
Crafted like so, replace arrows with crossbow bolts, raw pork with redstone, and the recipe is shapeless and requires no specific arrangement:
Again, ONE bolt.
Reasoning behind the crafting recipes
Crossbow: It's supposed to look like a crossbow, and that's about as close as I can get with minecraft's items.
Crossbow bolt: The iron is a head, the stick is for a shaft, and the feathers are fletches.
Flaming bolt: Gunpowder mixed with redstone is flammable but not explosive and the torch is for lighting it. I guess.
So yeah, there you have it. Anyone capable of making this?
Thanks to Shaft_Master for pointing out that feathers are still fine in the crossbow bolt recipe.
@chewbacca180: Only in Creative mode, I just tried it on Survival and a Creeper attacked me. Didn't blow up, because I managed to kill it with my sword, but it DID attack.
You know, I think that these pistons work a LOT better. They don't screw up if you flicker redstone on them, which happens with a bridge I made using the mod. I also think that they should fire Primed TNT, but not players or sand.Oh well, I bet people will manage to make wave machines anyway. Somehow.
To everyone saying "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO", think of it this way. The guy who made FortressCraft (A ripoff of Minecraft on Xbox) will be really mad.

Fairly sure there's no new textures. If you mean sounds, then that's a bug. You did just copy the .jar file into your bin folder?
