I'm attempting to create a public modpack with Rotarycraft (plus electricraft/reactorcraft) and Galacticraft at it's core. I think my approach at balance is a bit weird. Basically I'm trying to completely change how and where ores are generated. For example:
I think that lets me reward players for exploring space by making it VERY worth the effort. However I still give them a way around that. It definitely changes how they can progress through Rotarycraft. Making a fusion reactor would be much more difficult without going there. Same for the turbine generator. The magnetic ore finder would be fairly easy to make in the overworld, but it's not the most useful item there anyway (better deposits of iron in space).
So would that be o.k. to do, or would I be overstepping my bounds as a modpack maker?
I'm not asking for modpack permission yet. I still need to do much more testing. I want to find how all the ore gen changes affect Rotarycraft so I can make that clear to players. I also gotta make sure I can tell you about the possible effects when I do ask for modpack permission.
