If you add sword charging for more deadly strike, are you going to get slowness like bows? If that's the case, people would just move away and shoot you with bows... soo spam clicking by far is an effective way to fight...

maybe more enchantment for armors and weapons... the one that makes diversity to combat. maybe add pierce to bows, or enchantment that will give you chance to do criticals without jumping. And add a "real survival friendly way" to make chain armors
Also add variety to mobs.. maybe make them kinda smarter. Increasing skeleton's accuracy based on the day thingy, the longer you stay in an area, the better they get. maybe make mobs support each other, give them tactics.. pincer attacks, ambush, stuff like that. And please... add shields..
Also, add dodge... it would be great if you add this, we can finally dodge in battles with someone in a sword fight. That way, the dodging can decide who will win(instead of the first one to hit will win)
Add ways to make traps... not the big piston trap, more of a simple craftable landmine, or a bear trap, something like that...
Add custom sword crafting?? instead of all swords look the same without resource pack...
Spells... maybe add book of spells. maybe as a rare dungeon loot, or craftable stuff.
make friends with hostile mobs?? maybe add a way so we can summon them as a team and fight for us.

Can you make bows more... customizable? like the charging speed... maybe add enchantment for that, that would be nice.

Is it possible to tag all books, then remove the tags from certain books to make only the players written books the only ones tagged?

I'm planning to get custom books using commands, but the exact method of giving it to the player is not yet set. But I'm currently planning on just using /give

It's just not the community's golden age anymore.. It's just that the community don't really stand as one these days.. back then, people stand together... especially on map collaboration and stuff.. there were maps like the code, diversity, herobrine's mansion/returns, ect.. those maps keeps the community together. I do belive this game starts falling apart since skyDoesMinecraft started the whole try not to laugh challenge and stuff like that as his fanbase was huge.. another thing i see is that this "generation" don't really stands out.. I remember seeing people like Sethbling doing insane redstones.. it keeps the community motivated to do more.. these days, it's just different..
I wouldn't say this game is dead, it's just not moving in an exciting way for it to be noticed as good anymore..

good to know there's still hope in the new generation, thanks for the reply

I'm a returning minecraft player just looking around at what the community is like now.. i must say it's not that great with so many cringe stuffs happening all the time.. I do see some "old" players are still in the community like antvenom, captainsparklez, Grian, danTDM and such, they still have contents worth to see.. unfortunately, i don't really see any "new generation" players that is great.. is it because there aren't any or are they just hard to find? if there are indeed any, can anyone mention any of them here? I also want to enjoy the good stuffs from the new generation too..

they did really great, it was after all what many people wants, right? in a way? pvp was overrated, they added pvp mechanics.. people feeling adventurous, they added more transportation.. people loved commandblock, they improved it.. most of the added stuffs are for and from the community themself, they are great listener (most of the time..) so in overall, i think they're trying to do good and kinda succeeded in that..

Oversized house-you play in an oversized house room
water temple-the button can be hidden behind stair blocks to make the button waterproof
digital land-everything is digital-ish
redstone world-use mechanical stuff to get to the button for extra challenge
hotel-basicly look around a hotel for a button
space-give the downward levitation and jump boost to stimulate space
find the button on acid-anything with nausea effect
a farm-just a plain farm with hidden button
Temple-just like a forest temple, maybe
circus-maybe add something like a player launcher to get to the button
lake-button can be hidden in maybe a hidden small air gap in the lake
giant spider web-with sticky cobwebs for obstacles
a piano-maybe instead of the button, make it the buttons and make the player play certain notes to win
a cage-just like a bird cage or something..
i ran out of ideas...

I am currently making a puzzle map based on paradoxes and i need some sort of ideas on how can i make boss battles.. if you have ideas that is based on actual paradoxes, please just mention it here.. if the idea is just perfect, i will most likely use it and probably add a special way of mentioning you in the battle.. if it is just inspiring, i'll just mention your name in the special thanks section..

do /execute @a ~ ~ ~ /setblock "blockname" ~ ~ ~ and do /execute @a ~ ~ ~ /setblock (one for every block around the player) air 0 replace "blockname"
that will set a block of whatever you want to every player and remove the block trails behind them.. they would still count as blocks and rather hard to control..
or you can probably use /summon FallingSand to make it more as an entity.. that would actually work..
for sponges, you can use /execute detect command to remove invisibility, or probably use scoreboard to keep things more organized.. I'm not entirely great at commands but i hope these helped..

only tested it in 1.8.x versions, not sure about the 1.9... for safety reasons, play this in 1.8.9
edit: at least until further test on 1.9

use 2 command blocks.. one for tnt and one for falling sand.. might work..
0
use a clock connected to a commandblock: /kill @e[type=!Player]
it will kill all entity that is not player so you can reduce the lag caused by falling sand/tnt

I've tried it.. It's quite an amazing map, there are few bugs tho.. in the arcade mode for the final part the one with the
ladder spawning after the key is placed(which is also buggy, the pressure pad would break and did not give redstone output) the ladder would break because they're being placed on glowstone.. so took me few minutes to figure it was a bug...
another thing to note is that the beginning part with the introduction of items you can actually take the items out from the frames.. would cause the game breaking..
Overall, this is a great map that makes me think hard (even when all i need to do is to actually look around) and nice resource pack!
