posted a message on Where the heck do you find beta 1.7 mods?

Hey! So, long story short, I've been a little empty feeling so to have some fun, I figured tomorrow I'd have a 'kids day' - I'm gonna play a lot of games I played during my childhood, and though this one was definitely not during my 'childhood' per se, I'm planning to play some Minecraft, my personal favourite version, Beta 1.7, with a few good mods from back in the day - However, I can't seem to find any b1.7 mods around, not an ancient list, nothing really. Ideally looking for threads/lists, does anyone by chance have links laying around? Or even just individual 1.7 mods c: I'd really appreciate it, thank you so much

posted a message on Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Medieval Builders!

Hello friends. I am attempting to build a few medieval cities, and would definitely like some help! If you're interested, for the first city that I'm working on, here's some details:

This city is among the oldest on the continent. A stone statue of a man sits in front of the castle. Many peasant houses are within it's walls, along with a coal mine, brewery, and a strip of stores. Outside the wall, there is a very large farm.

Anything can really be added to that, if you're interested in helping just leave a message or send me a PM!

posted a message on Cannot Find Game From My Childhood, Help!

More than likely, yeah. It looked like an arcade game. I know from random searching I found another game I played on there when I was young, by the name of Gauntlet. Along with another one with cows and stuff, and many others. This game is the last one on my list and I willl have found all the Mame-games I played as a kid :P

Hey, so when I was little there was this thing on my family's desktop - Mame32. Not sure what's up with it nowadays but there was this one game on it I recall playing, it had a noir sort of feel to it. I'm pretty sure it was pixelated, and for some reason I recall this one area with a stage and curtains, and one of the characters had a revolver or something like that, and it worked really well.

Am I spouting nonsense or does anyone know what this game is?

posted a message on How do I impliment some Java methods in this?

So I'm learning Java in school and I'm having a freakout because I've got 20 days to do an entire module of Java programming. I've done some basic Java stuff already but this stuff is weird and new to me and unlike the other two modules I've done this has little to no explanation as to how to do it. It's like "Here's instructions without teaching you how, have fun" and I'm so confused *_*

    "
Your job is to re-write the program with at least 2
methods. It is up to you to decide what methods you
    need and what they do.
    ...
Remember, it is up to you. Use 2 different methods in any appropriate way and you get full marks."

Alright so then after that there's the following code:

     import java.util.*;<br>import java.text.*;<br>public class Loops<br>{<br> public static void main(String[] args)<br> {<br> Scanner numscan = new Scanner(System.in);<br> Random rand = new Random();<br> int x = rand.nextInt(20) + 1;<br> System.out.println("The computer has picked a number from 1 to 20, try and guess it.");<br> int guess = 0;<br> int total = 1;<br> while (guess != x)<br> {<br> System.out.print("Enter your guess: ");<br> guess = numscan.nextInt();<br> if (guess > x)<br> {<br> System.out.println("Your guess was high");<br> total = total + 1;<br> } else<br> if (guess < x)<br> {<br> System.out.println("Your gues was low");<br> total = total + 1;<br> } else<br> {<br> System.out.println("Congratulations, you guessed it in " + total + " tries!");<br> }<br> }<br> System.out.println();<br>}<br>

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.. Like, what even are possible methods that he means? I feel like I'm missing part of a puzzle.

(Also, sorry the code shows up funny, not sure how to format it >.<)

posted a message on Want to help work on a comic book maybe?

Hey! So, my team, in a few years time, wants to make an entertainment company - Publishing games, comics, novels, etc. We decided that whilst we wait and work to get enough money to cover copyrights for our titles, website upkeep, and resource expenses (just to name a couple) we plan to make as many things for future sale as we can.

Now, for a project we're working on (oh the horror genre) we've been making a weird open source/public domain huge crossover event (meeting our own characters) and possibly some characters that we're able to get permission for. Now we'd love to have people suggest public domain/open source characters, or, Hell, even submit your own if you really feel. Anyways, just private message me if you're interested in the project to a higher degree, and I shall reply when I can!

Character would be great. Like, as an example, let's say a character from.. Hmm.. I dunno, Criminal Minds, cameos in an episode of Dexter. Or even just mentioning things about another thing like how in the games Half-Life and Portal, Black Mesa and Aperture are mentioned to be competitors.

I've been working on a crossover web for quite some time now, and so I was wondering.. Is there anything at all that even potentially puts the show Dexter (NOT Dexter's Lab) into the same fictional universe as anything else?

posted a message on The Best/Most Popular Mods of 2014!
Hey guys! I'm trying to get back into Minecraft after being practically absent since 1.7.2 (official, not beta :P) from the game. I was just curious, new year and all.. What do you think are the best mods of 2014?

Curious as to what people say is the best. In the mean time, I will try to figure out what granite and the new blocks do, because I'm determined to find out without the wiki or update list-thing XD

posted a message on Time in the Marvel 616/mainstream Universe ***Headaches Galore***
I'm an avid comic fan :P I read a great deal of Marvel's new comics and have read lots of their old, but... The way time works REALLY bothers me. Maybe it's cause I'm a continuity freak who makes giant chronologies in his spare time, but the thought that 52 years of content has been compressed into 15 comic years just destroys my brain. And another issue is, let's say you pick up an X-Men comic. You might not need to read the series before it, or after, but what if you like it?

If you like it chances are you'd be interested in prequels and sequels possibly, and since there's almost certainly NO mention of time at all anymore, you'll have no clue what goes where. And with all the retcons and going back and making origin issues or changing when things happened or any other things.. It confuses readers. XD

posted a message on Opinions on pirating and uTorrent
I was buying when they were that price. When they were that price, I bought Borderlands 1 and 2, every single PS3 Ratchet & Clank game, Jak & Daxter Collection, LBP series, various Assassin's creed games (after trying the first one I bought 3 and 4 brand new), and as for PC I bought my copy of Skyrim, and as you know I bought Minecraft, I've put a good $60 or more into TF2, I've put a lot into SWTOR, and I've gotten various other games.
