Doesn't really work well for me. The problems is I want the dungeon in a very specific place, but it's very hard to adjust this. And of course I don't care where it exactly ends, but where the tower is placed. So I would like an option to specify the coordinates of the tower instead.
And I would like to make a dungeon which is in a hill, so it would need to be smaller at the top and could be huge at the bottom. So some option "As big as possible in this place, max <x> rooms length/width" would be great too.

Edit: If it's in github I would like the exact url, so I could check it out. ;-)

    hem... what's gitub? :biggrin.gif:
If the next version is ready yet, I would like to try it.

It's probably still buggy, otherwise he would most likely release it here.

Then could there maybe an option to raise not every block in the brush to one level above the block on which I place the mouse pointer, but every block one higher than it was before?

That's what the raise tool does, if you set the falloff to "constant" (the third one).

I'm an idiot. I forgot the "height" tool, always used "Raise mountain"

It's quite hard to make a river which isn't level. But I want to make a little lake in a high place and a river which goes down to a bigger lake. I don't know how you could improve this, just wanted to note it.

Then could there maybe an option to raise not every block in the brush to one level above the block on which I place the mouse pointer, but every block one higher than it was before?

Edit: After the world finished exporting I can say that WorldPainter is actually useless at making river which aren't level. I'll need to fill them with water manually, which is a pain.
The only idea I still have to try is to make the river more like a row of lakes and then connect them manually. This could maybe reduce the amount of work necessary to finish it.

@ greeny0604 & wallofchaos: don't worry, plenty more is coming. :-) I want to at least add pine trees before I officially release the first version. I'm currently working on importing the landscape from an existing level, and then merging the changes back to the existing level.

It's very complicated though, so it may take a while. And there are lots of plans for the future, including epic trees and many of the suggestions posted here by you and others. They will kind of trickle out though, since I have a day job and can only work on it sporadically. Be patient, good things are coming!

Nice. I'm always Patient :smile.gif: Just curious was all. thanks again. im still having fun and seeing weird things happen like random biomes. sometimes I'll get a lvl that starts as grass and suddenly changes to snow. crazy. :smile.gif:

While it is already that great it is easy to wait. :-)

Would be nice to be able to adjust tree height too, not only density. But I guess this is a lot of work (I don't always think it's easy, only when I've a reason to :tongue.gif:)

Wait... does this thing naturally generate ores now!?

    It can, yes.

Another thing I could have used recently: A tool which can replace everything one material with another. And preferably as an option also only inside the brush.

Then I would like to be able to make my own "Falloff"s and "Brush"s. It doesn't really need an editor, although it would be nice, if I could just make a picture in gimp that was already great.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. But I'm planning to support something like what Icksel asked for (top of the page), does that sound like the kind of thing you mean?

No, I don't think so. What I mean is, at the moment the only brushes it has are a circle and a square. I would like to make my own brushes, like a triangle or whatever. Same for the falloffs. My suggestions is to load the form of brushes and falloffs from image files, so everyone could add their own, using any image editor.

I think this wouldn't be too hard to implement.

That's always a dangerous thing to say to programmers... ;-) It's actually non-trivial, and while I plan on adding it some day it won't be soon! I want to get the basic functionality finished first.

I believe what I mean should actually take an hour or something like that to implement. Depending on how you do it at the moment maybe longer or shorter.

And when making a mountain it stops when the center reaches the top, but I would like it to continue and just leave out the part which is too high.

That's actually hard to do, because the mountain is raised to one higher than what's already there, and since the terrain can't get higher than 127, it can't continue growing past that. I'll keep it in mind however.

Couldn't you just raise it higher than 127 and then cut off what is too high?

Edit: Maybe you could add a smooth tool for materials, not the landscape, too.

Edit2: And I really miss the select tool I mentioned. Could have used a way to select every adjacent block of the same height.

I can't change the intensity: Please fix this. And add some keys to increase/decrease it temporarily.

You should be able to change the intensity by dragging the slider whenever you have a terrain type selected, or a layer. What is preventing you from changing the intensity when you have one of those selected?

Then the intensity is not I believed it was - I thought using it I could adjust how fast you heighten mountains/smooth stuff/... Then this is another feature request.

Then I would like to be able to make my own "Falloff"s and "Brush"s. It doesn't really need an editor, although it would be nice, if I could just make a picture in gimp that was already great. To make clear what I mean: For the first "falloff" it would look about like this: and for the round brush about like this: . I think this wouldn't be too hard to implement.

And when making a mountain it stops when the center reaches the top, but I would like it to continue and just leave out the part which is too high.

I'm trying to make a nice map, and this is the best tool I've found so far for making the basic landscape.

    Suggestions:
[*:1mhzlq0p]I can't change the intensity: Please fix this. And add some keys to increase/decrease it temporarily.
[*:1mhzlq0p]Add a selection tool. Only selected areas can be changed. Add the possibility to select all blocks above/below level x, all ice/snow/grass/ blocks, ...
      [*:1mhzlq0p]Add some documentation. ;-)

    Same for me.

    Edit:
Forgot to mention: I've got Java v1.6.0_22, Ubuntu 10.04, Firefox.
    Edit2:
    Problem solved.
