Thank you for the compliment, but I think Muskets fit in much better. Crossbows seem to be a more modern thing, even though they were around at the time of the Musket. I don't know, I'm a fan of The Walking Dead, so I wouldn't mind a Crossbow, but I think a Musket just fits more.
Crossbows have been around since the 5th century BC in China, and were heavily used in medieval warfare so they would fit BUT that's a whole new suggestion thread.
The obsidian forge does not heat up ingots properly, and even with inferno coal it may or may not work. It doesn't even start heating up Deep Iron at all! Help?
Longbows: Much more powerful than a standard bow, it's a HUGE bow as tall as you. Drawing back and nocking that bow may take a while but... It is also more expensive because you are making a bow that is as tall as you.
Recurve: A bow that has reduced power, but can shoot faster than a standard one because of it's design.
Composite: A bonus effect is granted to any bow that has bendy material suited for each other, e.g. wood + bone. This effect gives a bonus to durability.
Crossbow: A devastatingly powerful weapon, loading more durable bolts, and it's ammo can go through armour very well. It's main problem is that it takes a long time to pull the string and load it, but fortunately one it's locked and loaded it can be fired at will, anytime!
Spear: A pole weapon, grants the best reach of all weapons, does more damage while on a horse, and is cheap! Problem is, it's kinda easier to break and also the damage isn't the greatest when not mounted.
Mace: A brutal blunt weapon, it deals massive damage to unarmoured foes, but it doesn't go through armour well. Fortunately, it can stun enemies for a little bit (it's stun time is increased if Iguana Tweaks is installed and it's config for stunning enemies is enabled), granting you an upper hand in combat.
Knockback changes: Knockback can now dismount enemies riding a mount. Whether said enemies are a skeleton riding a spider or another player riding a horse, they'll go flying without their precious mobs. Hilarious for jousting competitions when used with a frying pan.
as it says in the instructions: obsidian forge is multiblock, needs to be put on an obsidian base (atleast centre of 3x3) and with obsidian on 3 of its sides
I knew that, but I put the main Obsidian Forge recipe on the deep iron anvil (small), and hammered it with my Iron hammer, and it doesn't work. I was using Inferno coal instead of hellfire, is this the problem or do I have to make a steel hammer?
I can't seem to find any Mithril, but I found TONS of Deep Iron. I made a Deep Iron Anvil, and tried to make an Obsidian Forge, but that doesn't work. help?
Since there is no suggestion thread, "T-10a's New Stuff Post!"
Heater Shield: The iconic shield from Medieval times, acting as an all-rounder, it has an average block time, with an average damage resistance when blocking. This shield is lightweight enough to shield bash, and doing so knocks back enemies and deals some damage. Making one needs 2 Shield Rims (2 ingots worth of choice) Heater Shield Base (4 ingots of Choice) and Wood Shield Backing.
Tower Shield: A huge, towering (duh) shield, inspired by Ancient Roman 'Scutum' shields, it has a short blocking time but resists a lot of damage while doing so. This shield can be placed in a similar manner to the Frying Pan, and acts as 'Cover on the Go'. Making one needs 4 Shield Rims, 2 Heavy Plates, and 2 Wood Shield Backing.
Buckler: A small shield, originally designed for duels and self-defence, with a long blocking time but doesn't resist damage well. The buckler is light-weight enough that with a button press, you can easily switch between shield mode and the weapon's special right click ability, suited for use with a Rapier. Making one needs a Shield Rim, a Buckler Shield Base (2 Ingots of Choice) and Wood Shield Backing
Not quite sure how wielding them could go, maybe with a new 'Shield Slot' or going into an existing slot.
Exclusive(?) modifiers could be Resistance, Thorns.

Still, would be a cool support idea.

Okay, I wasn't aware of this on Twitter. Thanks for letting me know.
