You cannot fault the average American on their education in the field of politics. There's no real structure in the teachings of politics in schools here. The only way you can get the information you desire is from the internet, which is always a reliable source.
It's not that Americans are all stupid... There's just a big filter. We've been fed so much "anti-communism" **** for decades that our officials claim anything they don't like is "communist". Which is kinda funny, because the country itself is moving towards a perverted form of communism.
Now, I wouldn't say SOPA is giving power to the corporations, honestly. If the bill is passed, the final word goes down to the government. They decide if something goes against the law. The corporations would simply be pulling strings where they could.

Believe me, I'm aware. But I wasn't until very recently when I had a History teacher from Scotland. It's one of those things that we tend to do. Whatever we don't like, we label as "communist".
No. It is not Communism. Communism is good (though it's never been truly implemented). This bill is Fascist.
Communism, in theory, is great. The only issue is that there are people who believe that they should not have to work to be treated equally as someone else, or there are people who believe they should be treated better than others.
You also have the issues of power. Put too much power into an individual or a group's hands, and they tend to abuse it.
The sad part is, the US constitution was originally made the way it was so that if the government became ineffective, it could be overturned. Now, it seems the only way that would work is if there was another revolution, which I don't see happening until WoW or something like that is shut down.
But the fact in all this is that SOPA needs to be stopped, as well as all similar actions. You know, not many people even know what the hell SOPA is. Only the gamers I've asked know about it. Everyone else acts all stupid. But what really sucks, is while some people know what it is, a large amount don't even give a damn. I'm frustrated.

So how many out of the 3000000 care deeply enough about the physics of this game to be upset.
I'm raging so hard right now. So terribly that my ass clenched so hard that it completely ripped the backside of my pants. I can barely even type this. I had to get out my giant rage keyboard, with each key as big as a fist, so I can literally smash each letter into this post. That's how much I care. In fact, I should call the emergency service; I'm so angered that I am suffering from a loss of blood as my body strains to keep up with myself.
People who are already fans, likely already play Minecraft. If they already play Minecraft, they're doing so on a PC, which is by far the best platform to play any first person perspective game on. Why would any current fan (PC player) be disappointed that they can't play Minecraft on their console? To me, that's like saying "Dang... I sure wish I could play this game with clunky controls and have fewer customization options."
I don't think they have many existing fans clamoring to play on a console, so it's like hedging your bets. You get an extra platform to put your game on, but the extra money from the exclusivity contract is like a little insurance against the game being a flop on consoles.
Notch needs to hire some of these modders. I mean they are doing what SHOULD be done with the game in a FRACTION of the time it takes for him to do anything.
I mean for example that Kingdoms mod.. holy crap. Look at the effort and time put into that. Look at some of the other work.

Nope. They don't. I assure you their time sheets don't say that. If you mean that they take their work home, then you're correct. Programmers, like teachers, quite often find themselves working extra hours that they don't get paid for.
It is true that your average codemonkey works a 40 hour week however as you point out, kinda, its irrelevant. Your lead programmers and devs can work 10 hours one week and 70 hours another, often in the middle of the night with the aid of coke and candy. As you state, most of them never get paid for this extra time, nor do they get penalised for the slack times, this is how programming of this kind works.
