    Hey monster,

in the 1.11 pack, how come you dont have the quartz texture for pillars set to have the top and bottom pieces similar to the chiseled stone bricks, is that a metadata only thing you have in the 1.7 pack or could it be the standard in the 1.11 pack?

the latest optifine has shaders mod baked into it, there is no need for you to install another shaders mod

So there is no way to get the carpets in 1.8? Thanks for your response.

just open up one of the earlier pre-1.8 packs, find the correct ctm for the carpet, along with the necessary properties file, drag that into the latest pack's same folder.

the problem with the ctm and 1.8 is that with 1.8 a new feature was implemented to stop xray packs from being useful, now all blocks have a solid colour under the texture... which means the ctm for various things that has any sort of transparency has the solid colour showing instead of the transparency... rendering the nice look of carpets like the fur rug textures useless.

tldr: there is no way to stop that colour from being there.

monster, will the ctm carpets be coming back any time soon?, the default textures for carpets are pretty plain. I've just been retrieving the ctm from previous versions of conquest and putting them in the latest release.

did you remove some of the connected textures?
this pic is running optifine, graphics fancy, connected textures fancy and the carpet is in a Forrest biome

i hope you're planning on returning them in a later update, i love the connected textures for carpet and also love the chiseled stone pillar connected texture aswell

@Supersnaketate i know this is somewhat of a shitty solution but due to my frustration with 1.8 im probably not going to fix the mess mojang left me with. As it stands im sick of 1.8 wrecking everything i did for the pack so far i mght even go as far and remove the 1..8 compatible version of conquest till thereis a alternative i can use without buggy workarounds that limit my creative freedom like this

its bad news to innocent guys like yourself but i just cant accept what they did sry.

i understand completely, i am constantly angry for mojangs bad decisions, it seems like that dont care about the players, they just want to do their own thing and dont care if it ruins things for everybody else

    Quote from SpandexToaster»
So with this new 1.8 update, how do we insert the metadata blocks in creative? I know there was a formula for giving yourself certain metadata items, and another for placing the block at your feet or a specific point. Anyone know the two formulas or have they been changed?

if you read through the rest of the thread metadatas have been removed from 1.8, they are unaccessable now. if you really want them you're going to have to go back to 1.7.10

monster, can we please have a version of the pack without the 3d models for the leaves, i find them to be a little bit annoying.
could we also add in the 3d block models for the different variants of fences from that 3d model pack, i like the different types but would rather not require the addon pack just for them.
also i was wondering if we could have the brown wool carpet changed to be a wood tabletop rather than the brown animal skin, and please dont make it meta data exclusive, some of us still play survival without access to metadata.

get this one http://www.mcedit.net/changes/0.1.8build799.html works with blocks up to 1.8, but cause its a dev build it is recommended that you backup any worlds

"Metadata has been extracted out in Minecraft to IBlockState, which holds a list of properties instead of magic number metadata. DO NOT listen to the fearmongering, you can do EVERYTHING with block states you could previously with metadata."

    https://github.com/MinecraftForge/MinecraftForge/commit/53659fca065a600470734d81a168fbdde6ec631a

Apparently someone working on forge states that the new "block states" system can do everything the same as the metadata system, im not sure how it works but by the sound of it instead of blocks having a single number per metadata there is now an entire properties file that can be made for each block thus resource pack creators can now make a block specific in their pack in which has full properties naming it and defining what type of block, type of 3d model, textures etc...

but dont quote me on the validity of this stuff, im still just as confused with this new block states system as the rest of you and can only speculate as to how it works

Is that a world for all the meta-data blocks? If so, would you mind sharing it? I know anyone could simply make it, but with the vast quantity, I just feel obligated to ask! :)

download for it is gone now, the world was originally called 1.7 block world and was made specifically for dokucraft, but because it shows every type of block with metadata it works for conquest aswell

this is the page i originally found it, reddit is horrible to look at but if you scroll down a bit to a post that had a big lot of text and the download links for the world and texture pack, the world download link is the one i used, but now it comes to a 404, the world must've been removed now

Thanks @Supersnaketate for the command. I'm doing exactly what you said while using the reference sheet for Id and I get the message "There is no such item with ID..." (the ID I entered from the sheet).

    Exemple of used command: /setblock ~ ~ ~ 98:6

So what am I doing wrong? My Optifine is up to date I don't have any other mods installed and it's a fresh installation of Minecraft.

dont add the : just use a space
edit: just tried it out, realized that they dont use numbers anymore for blocks, so it looks like you'll have to find out the correct name of the block...
    and

Quote from Armani52561 »Metadata was removed in miencraft 1.8.

And I don't think it works very well on singleplayer.

If your on multipalyer, use the plugin metacycler if its your server. Otherwise, i don't know what to say.

must be correct cause ive tried a few thing's now to get a metadata block and nothing has worked, i thought they still had them in 1.8 cause of this

    "Internal block handling
    • Now internally use states instead of metadata
    • Metadata will still be used for a while
    • Block states of the block being looked at will now be displayed on the F3 menu - Examples: redstone, door
    • Internally, metadata no longer needs to be calculated out of the 4 bit data value, instead the values of specified properties can now be easily gotten and set
    "
and here's a screenshot of a meta data test world, as you can see the meta data blocks are missing

Quote from Balthizarlucien »I don't know if this has been asked as I do not have the time to read 100 pages of posts ( :P ) but, is there going to be a release of this pack with a higher resolution such as 64 or 128? I would be very interested in either if this is planned.

Sadly yes, as I said, it's kind of Mojangs fault. Because they decided to save some people a few fps they will take out metadata completely. They only care about redstoner's and survivalists, builders aren't in their mind very much.

Those people can just lower their resolution, get gamebooster, optifine, everything seemed to be fine. Instead of scrapping metadata for fps, why not just scrap those ****ty clouds.

from what i can understand of their drivel is that now there is no "multiple" textures for a block, but instead there are states, i.e off/on, have no idea what this actually means, im guessing that instead of selecting from multiple textures for a block you can set the block with the state that you want either on/off/open/closed/active/inactive etc..which in my mind is absolutely useless, why remove metadata at all, it doesn't affect fps at all... unless your computer is so bad that regular textures make it lag then that's the fault of the user
    Quote from Azelle»
I love this texture pack but can't figure out how to use the metadata or biomes. Can you use the metadata blocks if you are not on a server? If yes, please, how can you do that? I Googled and everything and can't find a guide anywhere on how to use Conquest if you don't play on a server.

to place a block in unmodded single/multiplayer use /setblock ~ ~ ~ <blockid> <Metadata> use monsters reference sheet to find out the data, it'll look along the lines of this 4:5 to put that into the command you would type /setblock ~ ~ ~ 4 5. the ~ will put the block right where your feet are or you can substitute them for co-ordinates

hi, if I understood correctly there is no way to use the metadata on 1.8.... Is there a way to install 1.7.10?? Is it available to download somewhere??? I do have a map (solo, on my computer, not on a server) would I be able to save that map and use it in 1.7.10.... The conquest metadata are making a very big difference when you play creatif..

there is metadata on 1.8 but they'll be phasing it out completely after 1.8.

to get 1.7.10 open minecraft's launcher, bottom left click "new profile", then select the version you want and rename the profile, save and then click the drop down menu to select that profile and play

a warning tho, going from 1.8 back to 1.7.10 your world will load correctly but all of the 1.8 blocks will be missing completely, if you dont want them to dissapear dont open the world in 1.7.10

Ok. Thank you for your time.
    As an apology: I found a bug - assets\mcpatcher\ctm\stone\andesite_refined\sides\block1.properties (line 8: metadata=7, correctly: metadata=6).

Quote from lillgrinn »Hm... I have this bug.

Please tell me how to fix it.

if you're referring to the jagged leaf textures that protrude out of the actual block, that is actually a 1.8 custom model, monster has added a bunch of models from an addon pack that another fan made, the leaves are like that. i personally find it ugly and annoying but i guess it adds a new depth of detail to trees... meh.

@kev12east yes you can use them in videos etc (they are for public use by the devs of stronghold)

    @JulixgMC/Flippylejeff should be fixed

@SirFriele thats a problem with the patcher you are using aka i sadly dont have control over it =(

    @TheDaftHatter your on 1.8 right?

@nebux i updated your download in the modsupport section btw =)
and you are doing a great job on the addon its looking very nice

@Bumper3D/Ahr_Ech as i havent come around to making my pack work with the latest release of mc with the new patcher (which is still under heavy development) i didnt have the time to make everything compatible so unless i post the new 1.8 (ctm compatible version of conquest (which will be seperate from the 1.7 one)) you will have to expect the pack to run into a high amounts of problems with ctm patching

sorry for the inconviniece but it cant be helped

@Paleoneos well there are some people tha took care of the modsupport (like nebux for better than wolves) but ofc its comunity driven and some other people have become inactive due to certain inconviniences so sadly i cant really point in a direction but maybe someone willing to help will show himself *hint hint* ;D
