Well the problem was that the 1.8 newer versions literally just change their numbers and they really just copy paste what they said in the previous versions. They are adding a lot of new stuff including new limb movement.

So what you only see in mods and minecraft animations will now be a part of vanilla minecraft.

P.S:I'm not only exited about 1.9 I wonder for 2.0!

    The next update is 1.10

Did it happen to be my thread about a Minecraft sequel? I am going to wait until 1.9 releases to have an opinion, because they haven't shown much off besides a few pictures. This gap has also been the largest gap in an update, at 300 days since 1.8. I'll try to stay off of Minecraft until it releases, so I can come back excited. Hopefully it makes Minecraft better.

    Quote from archibalde1»

Well all in all the problem is trollers, they ruin everything, but there is a new game that is going to eat minecraft soon, agario. In my school the Miknecraft got burried under new games and things like that, but then again the minecraft got up to the stage, youtugers brought it and also big ass servers like Hive Mineplex Hypixel Minecade(not so big as the previous ones but still)And really Minecraft will go up and down untill it hits the bottom and doesn't die off.O\Then the small communities will start growing just like the dinosaurs, they die we grow.

There is a chance that Minecraft might get shutted down completely cause of hackers.

    Now goodbye!

Trollers aren't that bad. But I never thought about a new game taking Mineraft's popularity. Sure Agar.io is very addiciting but I'm not sure it will distract "the annoying kids" for long. And there's no way Minecraft could be taken down by hackers completely. Only individual servers.

This is very redundant. However, people have been asking for a friending feature since multiplayer was added. I believe Mojang said they would add it eventually, but they never have. In fact, they haven't been doing much community-wise anyways. No mod support, friending feature, CraftBukkit was a mess, etc. I'll keep hoping.

posted a message on Minecraft community becoming worse.

The absolute worst part of the community now, is that some people actually think it's a good idea to make a YouTube channel dedicated to Minecraft. 6 years after it comes out. I've given rants on YouTubers before, but no one will subscribe to anymore Minecraft YouTubers (especially ones under 14) 6 years after the game came out, and 4 years since the "glory days" of Minecraft on YouTube.

posted a message on Why a Minecraft Sequel Is Needed

So, you say the game is getting boring, and for the sequel you only suggest a better engine and better graphics?

    Quote from MongrelJV»

So better graphics, without any mention to the change in gameplay would somehow make you interested again?

That seems a bit silly no?

Seems that I apparently have to edit the OP and give my ideas for what could be added. I specifically said that I didn't want to go into details since it would take too long to explain new features of Minecraft, things that deserve to go into the Suggestions forum. I wanted a better engine, not better graphics, and that new engine would be built to accommodate new updates and features that Mojang adds.

As long as they run well on lower end PC's(Or can be turned off without making the game look terrible), they are fine. I have a good PC, but there are many people who have much less powerful machines.

Yes, I have a lower-end laptop. I can play Minecraft decently, but nothing too intensive.

I can see the point behind a sequel so that the game engine can be rewritten, the original code wasn't intended for a game with such a large player base and a complete rewrite of the game engine would fix this. However I do not understand why it should have realistic graphics, yes, Minecraft has low res textures and no proper shadow engine, but if you really want higher res textures you install a texturepack, if you want better shadows and lighting you install the GLSL Shaders mod(Yes, I know it's resource intensive). There is also a significant problem with realistic graphics, lower end PCs already have problems running Minecraft, looking at the performance hit GLSL Shaders causes, with realistic graphics they might not be able to run the game at all, an engine rewrite would help, but it probably won't fix all of it. Also you propose changing the game to run on Unity or something else instead of Java, many modders wouldn't want to port their mods to an entirely new language, mods are a large part of Minecraft's popularity and without mods, Minecraft 2 would lose quite a few players who would otherwise migrate over. So I support this but only the engine rewrite, not realistic graphics or changing what the game runs on.

I never said realistic textures. I said realistic water and lighting. Things that makes games look 100% better and could be done in a new engine.

Ahhh, I see. That is very weird. Maybe go to this website and get a free domain for the IP, which you can set as the public IP. There are also tutorials on YouTube to get a server domain,

posted a message on Terasology- A Free Game Like Minecraft That Could Use Some Support

Hey, everyone. I recently found a game much like Minecraft (which is where it gets its inspiration from) that looks a lot like Minecraft's early classic mode. It is very early in development but is being updated constantly. The only problem is that the community is very small. In fact, there hasn't even been a video on it in the last month. It looks like it could use a community. It is open source, and you can download it or play on your browser. The only problem is that it takes a good computer to run.

The head programmer replies to your threads on the forum, so he will read your suggestions (unlike Mojang on the Minecraft forums...). If you think something would be good in Minecraft, ask for it to be added to Terasology.

    Here is the main website

You're looking for IPv4. Just look up on Google "What is my IP?" and you should see it right there.

The one thing I'd like to see from Beta in modern Minecraft is the diversity of what the biomes would look like. Now they all look the same.

I wouldn't say they look the same, but they feel the same. I can't believe the only biome specific mobs are just the tameable ones (horses and cats). And it would also be extremely easy to add sound effects of each biome (like bugs and tropical birds in the jungle, bird chirps in forests, wind in plains, sizzling noises in the desert, etc.). Overall, I feel Minecraft updates aren't happening often enough.

It's not that the community is getting worse, but that more young kids are joining before they understand what life is like.
