posted a message on Building Your Base in Hell = Bad Idea
Although I forgot the max distance, I want to say 25 blocks, there is a limit on how non-neutral mobs spawn.

Non-neutrals spawn around 25 blocks or so AWAY from you, so actually this adds a unique experience for returning to your base in hell. You still can manage your home, but still you have to be cautious.

No longer can you run inside and grab a bowl of mushroom stew and heal up; instead, you take a faceful of fire ball.

If you build an average base, bigger than 4x4x4, this could add a zesty addition to gameplay.

If ghast-fireballs are truly powerful at destroying blocks, this could add a sense of fear of having bases destroyed by returning home. Obsidian could have a more important role. I would say they are going to make living in hell..............well, HELL!

Remember those floating fire chomps from Super Mario Bros. 3? Here are the similarities:

1: Both float through the air.

2: Both have trailing appendages, underneath them.

3: Cubes and spheres are both basic 3D shapes.

    4: Both spit fireballs.

Just wanted to point it out.

Again Turtle, it's still no execuse to be rude. You might cause tension on the thread if you do.

Also, the fact that it's morning for you is no excuse either.

Just try to be more respectful to users on these forums when answering questions next time.

I will probably see if I can find a video hosting channel (one that can take the videos Fraps produces) sometime within these 2 weeks.

This is definitely not a promise.

They are usually epic. You need to go to bwana's server when I'm on. Here's another idea for your consumption: How about an underwater fortress? Like rapture? If you want, I could post a video.

posted a message on How did you discover Minecraft? was it worth it?
I was looking for games that had the ability to generate random worlds.

Reason? I recently found my gameboy, along with Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi's Journey.

Best catch 'em raise 'em game EVAR .

In that game, you could find magic keys. Depending on how strong your monsters where when you found the key, determined how difficult it would be. Each also had special names, such as blue, shiny, last, slime, cave, hell, etc. They denoted the type of monsters that could be found there, while blue, green, lord, last etc., determined the quality of monsters that lived there. (rarity)

Each world was randomly generated, and the quality was outstanding for a GBC game of it's time.

Moving on, I found Nizzotech's (Notch I presume) video on the random generation MineCraft produces.

    And now I am here.

Have you ever made a glass water tower with signs, the works etc. etc.? You could use a boat to quickly rise to the top of said tower, while looking at the beautiful world around you.

After that, I would build a glass waterslide, anyway you want, with occasional obsidian blocks on the side with torches on them.

At that point, I made an enourmous glass building, that had several glass floors (If you can't tell by this point, I LOvE glass.), and made little counters for me to vend food items for now reason. Each floor held a food category.

I connected the glass slide to the glass building, on the top. It ended (the slide) as a small sand beach with water.

    Hope that gave you ideas.

    Been suggested, would not work.

Also, notch said it will use craftable portals.

May you post a link to the thread? Only if it's quite similiar to mine. Again, this is an idea. I'm well aware of the craftable portals to access Hell. As for it not working, could you post a few reasons? (Most likely due to the coding, I'm sure.)

posted a message on My idea on hell's entrance
After reading many threads about the way one should access hell, I decided to share my own, which is a creation from other suggestions.

First off, Hell should be accessed via bedrock abyss holes, or more commonly known as, "The Void". Now, not only will it be difficult to find a void (not for some), you would need to pass criteria that resets each world you enter. The criteria can be vary, from many ideas. This is where you, the readers, come in.

After that, the mysterious looking spell that bounds the void from being accessed, would be lifted, and then you could begin your descent of about 300 blocks or so.

Here's an idea for the spell barrier (try to base your suggestion off this, please.)

Since I couldn't find a picture of the barrier I wanted to show (If you've played Dark Cloud 2, and have seen a star barrier, that's what I wanted to base it off), I will describe to the best of my ability.

It will envelope the void hole, and would have stars, smoke, glows of color, and lights that surround the space. Upon falling onto the spell, the player would be stopped, and be told what he/she needs to accomplish, before they are allowed access to Hell.

More ideas could be added, and thoughts will be viewed immediately.

posted a message on Booby Trapped Chests.
Chests that are booby-trapped have unique items, therefore regular chests would not wield such items as a booby-trapped chest does. Higher reward = greater risk. They could hold: TNT,Diamond, gold, and iron BLOCKS, mass amounts of arrows, large stacks of bookshelves, etc.
