Air. It IS INDEED a block type, read the minepedia. It's over abundant, and weighs me down with gravity.

I'm really tired of how many people act like, "O NOEZ I'M DYING! I WILL NOW PUT IT ONZ PEACEFUL AND COMMENCE TEH HEALIN!"

Has Notch indicated permanent difficulty? If not, we should discuss this more in depth.

Also, the search bar is being a **** today, so their's my reason.

Does it crash instantly when you load MC? Or does it when the menu is on for about 5 seconds?

Don't know what to tell you. Just wait and hope someone else can. But, I might know a way.

Maybe this could solve your dilemma.

Step 1: Make sure you have played minecraft on the web site, at least once. I don't know if this works with the download, but try it now, on the website. Even if it crashes.

Step 2: (hope you have windows) Press the windows start button key and the r key simultaneously. (at the same time)

Step 3: A small window in the lower-left of your screen should pop up. If not, keep repeating step 2.

Step 4: In the box, type: %appdata% , then hit OK.

Step 5: In the results provided, look for a folder, called: .minecraft It should be at the top of the list.

Step 6: Delete the entire folder, which causes everything minecraft related to be deleted, including your worlds. ( I hope you weren't too attached to your worlds!) Don't worry, this doesn't delete your minecraft account. Your account is nice and safe, stored on the web with backups, and advanced security settings.

Step 7: Make sure you delete any Minecraft launchers you may have, and then head over to Minecraft.net.

Step 8:login and play alpha, at the website. (you're not playing the game, you're re-downloading it.)

Let me know if this helped.

Time to resort to the support section!

    The goal:

To find this texture pack, and let my eyes take in the beauty, in sheer awe.

    The dilemma:

I forgot what the texture pack's name was, and how many views it had. (to help)

    The solution:

If someone is nice enough to take the time from their lifes to help me, I would greatly appreciate it. My memory only recalls exactly what the first couple of pictures on the first page of the thread looked like, so the best way you can help is by posting them here! I've looked, and looked, but to no avail. Onto the picture details!

The pictures for this pack, were very close to the top of the page, and they showed blocks next to eachother with arrows, pointing to each of them, in black. It was a high quality texture pack, and the blocks looked like they were simpily placed into the pack, from real life! That type of quality.

Again, thanks for your time on this newbish question. Well, sorta noobish.

Assualt in this case means they have a series of attacks. I recently found 4 skeletons in a zombie spawner, that I leveled out for room. I simpily strafed around them, and then I finished off the winner with a smack of my diamond sword to the back of his skull.
I think he was just making fun of you as it's spelled "assault", not "assualt".

Ah. The grammer nazis strike again!

Notch says he's making them immune to fire, most likely so that this very thing doesn't happen.

Yes, but remember how he said they also explode, and demolish blocks around them?

That means Ghasts could still take damage from the sheer force of the fireball (since it explodes with strength comparable to what I think would be 3 TNT blocks.)

Since they would be immensely powerful, sit back and watch the fight of epicness.

You read it wrong, their fireballs have destructive properties along with flame properties.

That's what I meant. Ghasts would be immune to thier attack's fire. But thier fireballs are the equivalent to that of TNT. Therefore it should still do damage, but ghasts won't slowly roast from the fire.

Think of it as this; an incandescenary grenade not only produces a damaging explosion shock wave, but also creates patches of fire.

Only in this case, Ghasts are immune.

All it takes is one ghast to set a forest alight or send a single city spiraling into chaos. A mob that supposedly spits fire and breaks blocks would cause a ridiculous amount of damage outside of hell.

Hence why one should take the utmost of precautions of housing the portal. Case it in a tri-layered building of obsidian, with chambers for multiple iron doors.

If we can mine obsidian, perhaps a direct ghast fireball could destroy obsidian, so be careful.
