Fungswine is a mushroom pig variation. Fungswine is a pun on the word fungi and swine. You're probably saying it's quite pointless considering the fact that we have mooshrooms however fungswine have brown mushrooms instead.
They can be sheared for brown mushrooms. They're seen only in the mushroom island biome. You can ride them with saddles. They drop porkchops. Bottom line, they're basically pigs with a brown mushroom variation.

Artifact123 posted a message on Rename 'Moss Stone' and 'Stone Stairs'Title explains it all.Posted in: Suggestions
The current name doesn't make too much sense and are quite outdated.
'Moss Stone' becomes 'Mossy Cobblestone', because the community already calls it that and it's pretty much mossy cobblestone.
'Stone Stairs' becomes 'Cobblestone Stairs', because they ARE cobblestone stairs. -

Jaiguru posted a message on Wedge BlocksOne of the main things that frustrate me about this game is that it's really hard to build a structure that is not boxy in shape and still have it look good.. To get any variety of organic curves or build at a 45' angle you must do so on very large scales or it just ends up looking like a mess.Posted in: Suggestions
One possible solution to this is wedge blocks. These would be blocks that show a smooth face at 45' angles. Instead of having a staircase on it's side appearance, you could put them into your build to smooth off that surface. You could easily make octagonal shaped towers this way that look far more aesthetically pleasing for instance.
The trick with this would be that you would need a wedge variant of nearly every block. A guy can dream though, right? -

FrostDefrostRefrost posted a message on Explosive Turtle (Mine Turtles)I doubt much of you have seen asdfmovie (or maybe I am wrong), so I cam going to explain where this idea came from. There is a bit series of skits on YouTube named "asdfmovie". These basically include skits with stick figures. Last year, when "asdfmovie5" was released, there was a new joke named "Mine Turtle". Basically it was a turtle that was explosive. This lead up to about 3 skits deticated to the Mine Turtle (2 in asdfmovie5, 1 in asdfmovie6). I would find it really funny if Mojang added in Explosive Turtles as it sounds like something they would find funny.Posted in: Suggestions
You can't miss the Mine Turtle. It's as big as a half slab and it has a red glow. I would be half of a shorter bed that is green with a shell texture with a small head poking out of it's body. Why am I telling you this? Because it is really important; if you step on one, it will explode and leave a small crater, dealing you 4 damage (2 hearts). Don't worry, these would have a 0.1% chance of spawning. They also have 6 health (3 hearts)
These new Explosive Turtles would only spawn in Plains biomes during sunset and sunrise. Other times it has a 0.00001% chance of spawning in a forest biome. It would still spawn in Peaceful; if it couldn't then you might not be able to use TNT in peaceful.
So we've got 1 reference. What else? Well, when a turtle sees you, it will walk towards you. Also, if you don't interact with it within 5 seconds (enough time to run away), it will turn upside down in a jump and will explode itself. Punching the body will hurt it, however if you hit it's red button (in the middle of the body), it will explode. -

Ghost8909 posted a message on Nether coffee shopsWhy is everyone too stupid to realise it's NOT coffee? It's potions in a mug. I would suggest the title be redone as "Nether Coffee Shops (Potion Shops)" or something.Posted in: Suggestions

Yes! And while we're at it, why not a giant ghast on a coffee binge! It is one hundred thousand times more powerful than a normal ghast and spews boiling hot coffee all over the place which kills on touch!
Yes, yes. I see an idea that I don't quite like! LETS MAKE FUN OF IT!!!

Oh god... I gagged so hard when I saw the 4 upvotes the OP got for this. Did Spaceboot1 make another account or something?
Can people please stop being dicks to OP? Seriously. It's a suggestion thread, they made a suggestion. And you're calling OP's idea stupid? You think it's coffee. IT'S POTIONS. Who's the stupid one? The potion shop is modeled after a coffee shop, but doesn't literally sell coffee, people.
And I don't know who this "Spaceboot1" guy is, but I'm pretty sure I'm not him. -

Deraj posted a message on Will 1.7 have new NETHER biomes?Going on the 9 Circles theme, let's count them off, and see how they could be implemented: (These are quotes from the story, as far as I know, and then censored somewhat for sensitive readers... and because I actually want to continue being on these forums.)Posted in: Future Updates
Level 1 - Limbo
Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. [...] There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.
How to translate this into minecraft:
The river Acheron could be a new nether-only fluid, that causes a Wither effect upon being submerged in it. Black, green, whatever, but more than likely transparent. The seven-walled castle could be a new variation of a Nether Fortress, with some plantlife (New or old) inside. Probably Netherwort.
Level 2 - Winds
You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, [...]
How to translate into Minecraft: I honestly have no idea. No glowstone, lava or flame, to begin with. Adding whirlwinds would be inadvisable, but perhaps a new block to fling players that stand upon it for too long could be created? I'm thinking that there may be lots of broken-up terrain in here, too.
Level 3 - Acid Rain
In the third circle, you find yourself amidst eternal rain, maledict, cold, and heavy. The gluttons are punished here, lying in the filthy mixture of shadows and of putrid water. Because you consumed in excess, you meet your fate beneath the cold, dirty rain, amidst the other souls that there lay unhappily in the stinking mud. Cerebus, a canine monster cruel and uncouth with his three heads and red eyes, dwells in this level. He growls and tears at the damned with his teeth and claws.
How it could be implemented in Minecraft: Utilizing the new WitherWater, this could be translated into a sort of Nether Swamp, with new, dangerous Cerberous-like mobs. Possibly tamable, but unlikely. Also, these would be immune to Wither, because of their environment. For the rain, due to how rain works in Minecraft, it's unlikely that Acid Rain would make it in here, unless a new block that creates rain at the source was created, like a sort of cloud. But, again, unlikely, and very difficult, I think. Unless they're WitherWaterfalls.
Level 4 - Boulders
Just before the river Styx is the Fourth Level of Hell. Here, the prodigal and the avaricious suffer their punishment, as they roll weights back and forth against one another. You will share eternal damnation with others who either wasted and lived greedily and insatiably, or who stockpiled their fortunes, hoarding everything and sharing nothing. Plutus, the wolf-like demon of wealth, dwells here.
How it can be implemented:
The only think I can think of is creating a hell-wolf mob, and a living rock mob that charges at you like a ram to damage you. Not really worthy of their own biome.
Level 5 - Styx
The river Styx runs through this level of Hell, and in it are punished the wrathful and the gloomy. The former are forever lashing out at each other in anger, [...]. The latter are gurgling in the black mud, slothful and sullen, withdrawn from the world. Their lamentations bubble to the surface as they try to repeat a doleful hymn, though with unbroken words they cannot say it. Because you lived a cruel, vindictive and hateful life, you meet your fate in the Styx.
How it can be implemented: A Hell Swamp sub-biome. Lower the Witherwater one level, and have the new muck spawn on top of it. If you fall in, you'll be slowed like in cobweb or soulsand, and then sink into the witherwater below and die, unless you enderpearl out. May be a new fluid sitting on top of the witherwater, maybe not.
Level 6 - City of Dis
You approach Satan's wretched city where you behold a wide plain surrounded by iron walls. Before you are fields full of distress and torment terrible. Burning tombs are littered about the landscape. Inside these flaming sepulchers suffer the heretics, failing to believe in God and the afterlife, who make themselves audible by doleful sighs. You will join the wicked that lie here, and will be offered no respite. The three infernal Furies stained with blood, with limbs of women and hair of serpents, dwell in this circle of Hell.
How it can be implemented: To make it not an iron farm, the blocks of the city would not be iron, or be an altered iron that is useful only in decoration. It would be another alternate fortress, with no special spawns, as the pigmen and wither skeletons do the job nicely here. No Furies, as that isn't exactly kid-friendly. Maybe witches?
Level 7 - Forest of Suicides
Guarded by the Minotaur, who snarls in fury, and encircled within the river Phlegethon, filled with boiling blood, is the Seventh Level of Hell. The violent, the assasins, the tyrants, and the war-mongers lament their pitiless mischiefs in the river, while centaurs armed with bows and arrows shoot those who try to escape their punishment. [...] This level is also home to the wood of the suicides- stunted and gnarled trees with twisting branches and poisoned fruit. [...] In those branches the Harpies, foul birdlike creatures with human faces, make their nests. Beyond the wood is scorching sand where those who committed violence against God and nature are showered with flakes of fire that rain down against their bodies.
How it can be implemented: Ooookay, that got complicated. Rivers of boiling blood can be replaced with lava, and we already have skeletons (and perhaps implement pigmen?) with bows and arrows in the nether, as well as scorching sands (Soulsand, sort of) so the thing here is the woods. Perhaps a dead log block could be created, and a new black-colored wood, "Rotted Logs" and "Rotted Wood Planks" could do the job here. Or even Charred Logs and Charred Wood Planks, to implement some burning red? As for the fruit, poisoned apples may do the trick, or even a new Nether Fruit.
Level 8 - Malebolge
Many and varied sinners suffer eternally in the multi-leveled Malebolge, an ampitheatre-shaped pit of despair Wholly of stone and of an iron colour - aaaaand I'ma cut it off there, because that is MUCH too gruesome, and contributes nothing.
How it can be implemented: An amphitheatre of torture and pain? New fortress variation. Next!
Level 9 - Cocytus
This is the deepest level of hell, where the fallen angel Satan himself resides. His wings flap eternally, producing chilling cold winds that freeze the thick ice found in Cocytus. The three faces of Satan, black, red, and yellow, can be seen [...]. This place is furthest removed from the source of all light and warmth. Sinners here are frozen deep in the ice, faces out, eyes and mouths frozen shut. Traitors against God, country, family, and benefactors lament their sins in this frigid pit of despair.
How it can be implemented: The new Packed Ice block. As far as I know, it is Valid in the nether, and drops no water, so it doesn't risk breaking their 'No water in the Nether' rule. I'm not going to suggest Satan himself as a new boss, but perhaps 3 smaller mobs to match the colors, such as Wither Skeletons, Blazes, and Zombie Pigmen with their Golden Swords.
This would be a rare biome, but would provide players with a good place to farm for packed ice, if no crafting recipe is introduced.
In addition, new natural formations, like netherrack or glowstone columns that span the entire height of the nether could be added out in magma oceans, becoming thinner at the middle, and expanding at both the upper and lower connections. -

Habanero posted a message on I'm not happy that roses are gone. This is without a doubt the most ridiculous and trivial thing I've ever heard anyone complain about it...and trust me, I've seen a lot of silly update complaints. It's only a flower, and yet some people are acting as if the entire game has been destroyed. I've actually heard people threaten to never update again because of this. I mean, seriously? What on Earth...Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
The poppy that replaced the rose looks nearly identical, and it has the exact same function: decoration and dye. And, what's more, we now have three red flowers to choose from...but somehow that's not enough for some people.
And if it really bothers you that much, change the name back to "rose" in the language files and use the old rose texture. It's not difficult. -

Kitteh6660 posted a message on A more alienish world (Customizable world & night sky)Why not make the world a bit more interesting? You can set the planet. Traditional world still exists.Posted in: Suggestions
Ringed Planet: The rings are always visible on the sky and appears bright at night. This raises the minimum light level at night by 1. The style varies from faint small ring to wide Saturn-like rings.
Here's a video for example of what Earth would be like with rings. The video is not mine.
Multiple Suns and Moons: There may be one, two or three suns, depending on what you set.
Gas Giant: A visible Gas Giant in the sky. You can also see the other moons. There are 1-16 visible moons orbiting the planet. Sun is still visible. This replaces moon, but once again there are visible moons of different colours, shapes and sizes. The gas giant is always visible due to tidal locking. You get day/night cycle as the moon orbits the gas giant. Slightly erratic seasons and day/night cycle due to the orbital and rotational period of gas giant, coupled with the orbital period of the world you live on, but there might be a pattern. There is usually 64x16 texture, the 16x16 square is used. It's to simulate the rotation of gas giant.
An example.
Planets: There will be visible planets on the sky. They appear small but rarely, it may be big enough. There may be a transit, that is, when planet appears to move across the sun.
Galaxies: About the size of a star, they have unique texture and there are many small dots orbiting.
Most of the planets and galaxies are not visible during the day, but rarely, planet may stay visible. Gas Giants are usually visible even during the day.
Biomes Exclusivity: About 60% of the biomes are always available to all planet. The other 40% may or may not happen. There may even be exclusive biomes not found in normal Minecraft world! Imagine coming across weird stone arches that is actually natural.
They are all dependent on seed. To get the desired planet, there is Customize world button in More Options. From there, you can set the world.
Possible Presets
1a: Classic (1 sun, 1 moon, no visible planets, just stars)
1b: Classic+ (Like Classic, but has visible planets.)
2a: Ringed Normal Planet (Just like Classic but with visible rings.)
2b: Ringed Normal Planet+ (Like Ringed Normal Planet but with visible planets in night sky)
3: Habitable Moon (Visible Gas Giant, with moons that is random by seed. Sun may appear smaller, with the moon replaced with gas giants.)
4a: Multiple Suns (Two or three suns.)
4b: Multiple Moons (Two or more moons.)
5: Combination of 4a and 4b. (More than one sun and more than one moon)
6: Red Giant (Sun is a huge red square in the sky, sky is much darker. Star is visible even during the day.)
7: Insane (Most of the above combined, with all exclusive biomes included.)
Once again, the planets are still blocky. All of the visible suns, moons and gas giants are square as well.
For all of you who worry about "not fitting within Minecraft", this isn't space travel. It's to make the world a bit more of a fantasy. It's to bring extraterrestrial atmosphere into Minecraft.
Minecraft doesn't have to be exactly Earth. It can take on many forms.
In other words, make the night sky interesting! - To post a comment, please login.
