posted a message on Solar and Lunar events

So, I've been thinking about this suggestion for a while and I'm not sure if it's a great suggestion or not so I decided to post some basic info about the suggestion so people can tell me when it's good or bad.

So, night and day, they're almost the same with the difference being the spawn rate of monsters, it's almost very predictable of what would happen if it would turn to night or day or whatever, weather is nothing mostly but most of the things I say about weather is disasters, which are currently in a mod so I think it's pointless to add that, so:

    Solar events:

Drought: Spawn rate of passive mobs are reduced by 50%, hunger depletion is increased by 10%, undead mobs take as twice as damage from sunlight, random fires and crop growth is halted. Usually can occur in normal temperature biomes with a 2% chance every minecraft day, 5% when in hotter environments. Sun becomes orange. Lasts for 2 minecraft days.

Solar Eclipse: Light level decreases drastically, hostile mobs are faster, more resistant and stronger, fatigue, hostile mob spawn rate increased by 25%, 0.1% chance of occuring.

    Lunar events:

Lunar eclipse (blood moon): 0.01% chance of occuring within the night, you can't sleep, any mob can spawn regardless of biome or light level, hostile mob spawn rate increased by 50%, when blood moon ends, all hostile mobs die at dawn.

That's basically what I have in store currently, so if you like it then I appreciate it, if you think it's not good then that's better, but if you are just gonna hate on me then get out.

posted a message on Iron Golem update?

Umm... I have trouble reading your post so thank you WolfyMcWolf for posting the translation.

Controlling golems is too OP, having a ton of golems while controlling them all at once can bombard (figuratively) any person, even with diamond armor, even if they are attacking the golem or not.

Snowballs usually deal no damage so, having snow golems deal 2 health per snowball is OP, even if it shoots 1.5 second, natural regeneration can't keep up.

well i cant because i have a lock on my computer and it wont let me

You're probably referring why you can't add punctuation marks. Then why does your comment have exclamation points?

OMG FOR THE LAST TIME its just an idea im not serious about this an im sorry if im not the queen of England! using perfect grammar! and the snow golem only shoots 1 snow ball every 1.5 seconds or so so its not super op by the times im half health the snow golem is long gone and i didn't mean that the iron golem wouldn't attack zombies i mean it doesn't only attack zombies

PLEASE DO NOT POST MEAN POSTS

Mean post: HAHA, YOUR POST IS CANCER, GIVE ME THE BLEACH, NO SUPPORT, HAHAHHAHAHHSGDUYGUYFDGCBC.

Critizism: Your post is too OP because [reason] and [reason], also your idea is unnecessary because [reason]. No support

Critizism and being mean are 2 different things.

posted a message on Double Jumping in Minecraft

We don't really need this, we're not TF2 scouts or [Insert character that can double jump here].

It won't really change pvp that much since all players can double jump from now on.

Also that's why we have leaping, to increase our jump height, we really don't need a copycat of the leaping potion.

1 heart isn't really that much (for me) so it's probably too OP.

However since this is actually optional, I guess this is only good for certain maps where you need to double jump and because of that I'll give you

Eh, the idea is well... not unique, pretty much the same mobs with different abilities, I also don't like the names you give because they have numbers after them which makes it too immature. Also please save the paintball guns later, use it for flame wars.

I find this quiet a random suggestion, there's not really a reason behind it and doesn't have any major things it adds... And would be quiet OP because of the haste...

    No support

First of all I just edited my post because I forgot something in my post, sorry lol. Second I know it's OP that's why I added that it would be an uncommon plant.

posted a message on Nether Fruit/Flower/Plant

Still can't find fancy name though

Nether* plants are plants that are only found in the nether and are uncommon plants.

Breaking one will give 0-1 Nether* fruits.

Nether* fruits are harvested when you break a nether* plant and are supposed to be a small substitute for fire resistance potions. They also look like pomegranates but has flesh that looks like lava.

    Effects when eaten:

Nether* Fruit ingestion: Like fire resistance except only has a maximum effect time of 15 seconds

    Haste 1

    Nausea**

When the sum of the Nether* Fruit ingestion and the additional 5 seconds of the Nether* fruit is 16 or more you will be set on fire instead and have both haste and Nether Fruit ingestion effect gone.**

They add 5 seconds of the Nether* fruit ingestion effect and has a cooldown of 2 seconds before it can be eaten again and restores 4 hunger and 2.1 saturation (Like chorus fruits)

Nether* flowers can only be placed on soul sand regardless of light level.

Nether* plants and flowers behave exactly the same as Chorus flowers and plants. They are also just re-skins of Chorus flowers and plants.

I just feel like adding this suggestion because most of the time it takes only like 10 minutes before all my potions of fire resistance are gone. Also I just want to add plants in the nether as well for some reason :)

    Hope you like it.

    * - Still can't find fancy name

    ** - Probably a bad idea

posted a message on Nether Fruit

I still don't know how to call it. (Still looking for a fancy name)

Basically it's like the chorus plant except it is found in the nether.

There will be Nether* plants, Nether* flowers, and the fruit itself.

Eating the fruit will restore 4 hunger and 2.4 saturation (Like the chorus fruit).

    The effects when eaten are:

Nether* Fruit ingestion: exactly like fire resistance except it only has a maximum effect time of 30 seconds

    Haste

    Nausea**

In rare cases you will be set on fire instead

Each Nether* fruit you eat will give you an extra 5 seconds of Nether* fruit ingestion effect with a 2 second cooldown before eating it again.

Nether* flowers and nether* plants only grow on soul sand regardless of light level.

Nether* flowers and plants behave exactly the same as Chorus flowers and plants

    * - Still can't find fancy name

    ** - Probably not a great idea

    Quote from jdc997»

If dirt slabs were actually implemented in current Minecraft, the slab model can now be easily replaced for dirt slabs, allowing for the side grass texture to be panned down and have the grass texture on top. They could also be easily coded to have the "no grass growth" problem fixed. Don't use Alpha/Beta as an example for why something can't be implemented now.

You're using realism as a counter in a game like Minecraft? Your feet would sink into a whole wool block in real life as well. Should we remove those?

This is subjective, so I won't argue that, but remember that decoration blocks are optional.

I fail to see how this will make torches under stairs useless.

Anyway, I've always wanted more stairs and slabs. I Support.

"You're using realism as a counter in a game like Minecraft? Your feet would sink into a whole wool block in real life as well. Should we remove those?"
First of all, wool slabs and stairs are just illogical however I don't use realism as a counter too much, anything not real but logical (e.g. A three headed dragon that breaths fire, ice and acid is unrealistic but since it makes sense it's fine for me) is fine for me but something that is just illogical is an automatic partial or no support from me.

Eh, I just don't like stairs or slabs made from precious minerals. They just look too unpleasant to look at.

Some map creators put torches under stairs to make a light source without revealing it, I actually sometimes use that.

I never said we can't implement that. I just stated what Notch said about the dirt slabs however this would make mountains look more realistic and more pleasant.

    Quote from Will85237»

And melons don't have a "low food value"? They're useful for replenishing just a bit of hunger, but their saturation is worse than carrots or bread.

I have a barn filled with sheep, each colour of sheep in it's own section, separated from the others by fences. About one in three times that I visit them, a sheep has managed to visit another colour's section. Maybe I've packed them in too tightly (3 per 2x3 space), but it's made me lose my trust for anything with 4 legs in MC.

They have low food value but they do give a mediocre amount of food while most food only drop like 1 piece of their food.

Also never pack anything too tightly, I learned from that lesson lol.

Why should wood and stone/brick be our only items with which to craft these? Why cant we use those same crafting patterns with more stuff?

    Just think of it...

    • Wool slabs and stairs for properly flowing elegant pathways and staircases, not just plain wood stairs interspersed by carpets.
    • Iron/Gold/Lapis/Diamond/Emerald/Coal stairs and slabs could really grab the eye in a build project. (Not Redstone Block slabs/stairs, though - too easy to mess with wiring if misplaced)
    • Craft yourself some Dirt and Snow stairs/slabs to smooth out those rough hillsides leading up to your fancy mansion.
    • Make your home uniquely stylish with the fantasy-story beauty of a glass staircase!
    • Heck, why not Glowstone and Obsidian, to really get folks' attention? (You just KNOW a self-lighted walkway made of glowstone slabs and obsidian stairs would look awesome as hell!)

Really, the list goes on and on.

Sure, it's mostly aimed at the artistic sorts who want stuff to look good, rather than how most suggestions are aimed at making Survival mode
more challenging... but it's still worth looking into.

Frankly, it almost seems surprising that it wasn't already in the game.

It might be a bit tricky for texture-makers until they get used to how the stairs/slabs read the textures, but otherwise I see no more problems with texturing than there are for regular wood and stone ones already in the game.

    One more thing...
Allow me to clarify - the dirt/snow terrain-block slabs would be just a nice craftable bonus for adding an extra aesthetic flair to building. I'm not suggesting they be naturally-occuring features.

As for the iron/gold/etc. slabs/stairs, those would have the same texturing as the storage blocks, but would be made with the items, not the blocks - an iron slab would be made with three iron ingots in a line, lapis stairs would be made with three lapis ore in a stair-pattern, etc. That's all, just a craftable bonus for aesthetic purposes, same way the existing carpeting and such are.

    First of all, read this:
Before stone slabs were added to 0.26, Notch ran a test of dirt slabs. In the test they replaced dirt blocks, so that dirt surface without grass was half a block lower than grass. However it made a mess of the sides of cliffs and underground. They were never added to the actual game and were only mentioned once. They replaced all dirt blocks and did not grow grass on top.

Also wool stairs are just too unrealistic, your feet would sink in real life, also using wool for stairs is just too unrealistic as well.
Same goes for glass stairs and slabs. If your going to implement that shouldn't be there reinforced glass as well?

Iron, diamond, gold and emerald stairs are just too unpleasant to see, please not that.

Yes, make torches under stairs useless. Stairs are transparent blocks meaning that light will pass through them. Adding torches under them will make light.
