    Just a quck note:
I don't have alot of time on weekdays because of school and all that, so I'll be making lots of textures on the weekends instead of one per day like I said. I'll be putting the pack up for download after it's at least usable(some item textures, title, all that stuff). And I would realllly like some people to submit textures! It will help out a lot. Making one texture for me takes about 30-45 minutes. I think of what I want it to look like, then spend a while making it just right. So you can help a lot!

You can open photoshop, paint.NET, etc. files in GIMP. Why must we use it?

Oh, I didn't know that. Guess you can use whatever you want as long as it supports transperancy. I'll change the rule thing to say that.

    MageCraft

    [WIP][32x]

Hello everybody! I have recently started making a 32x texture pack that I'm calling 'MageCraft'. Currently, it isn't much. But I have big plans.

    Block Textures Completed: 16
    Item Textures Completed: 0
    Mob Textures Completed: 0

It's going to take a long time, and I'll need some help. You guys can send me textures that you've made so you can help out a little!

The rules for sending me textures are:
    1. You may not use textures from other texturepacks, only ones that you have created yourselves.
    2. The textures must be 32x32.
    3. You must make the textures downloadable.
    4. Try to make them in the style of my textures. (terrain.png and items.png will be posted soon)
    5. You must make them using Gimp or some other image editor that supports transparency.
Now keep in mind that I won't take every texture that people submit. If you want to use a texture that someone has submitted, download it and paste it into the terrain.png (once the pack is done) in the spot where the texture that I (or a different user) made (use Gimp or Paint.net for this or it will mess up the transparent textures.)

    terrain.png so far:

Also, I appreciate suggestions on changes or ideas for my current textures. And keep in mind that I'm probably not the best artist, so don't judge me. My goal is to make at lease one texture per day.I'm just going to make textures when I feel like it. I'll try to do more if I have the time.

    Changelog:
    • v0.0.0: Started the pack. Created Stone, Dirt, Grass, and Plank textures.
    • v0.0.1: Added Half Slab textures. Added terrain.png to the post.
    • v0.0.2: Added Brick texture, changed the name from 'Inspired Textures' to 'MageCraft'.
    • v0.0.3: Added TNT, Cobweb, Rose, Flower, and Sappling textures.

These things aren't for the computer illiterate. Your browser has nothing to do with it.

When you reply to someone who is asking for help, dont tell them they're an idiot. Help them!
If you download a prerelease and it's ina zip, then make a folder called 'minecraft.jar' without the quotes, and put all the files in that. Then use the folder in place of your normal jar, and you're done. However, you can't force update. You have to manually delete the file in the bin.

I'm having some issues with Optifine. I run Ubuntu 11.4, and I've followed every instruction here. I'm running an unmodded, unpatched minecraft jar, when I delete the meta-inf folder and rty to execute the jar it wont work anymore. If I leave meta-inf there and copy all the optifine classes in I get a black screen after login and the game doesnt load.

I'd really like to get this working so I can try to boost minecraft.

Any ideas? I have a samsung r730 3gb of ram and an i3core

    Cheers!!

Use Risugami's Modloader, that might help. If not, then try backdating your mc to 1.7 and use that version of the mod and see if it works.

Awesome job on this mod man, makes my Minecraft run a whole lot faster. But I have an idea for something you could add. A toggle for the cave fog that appears when you're far underground, and toggle from the black, hellish void to what it used to be. Those bother me becasue I make lots of underground things like many other people. If you could do that it would be great! :biggrin.gif:

Hey guys, love your stuff, especially texturecraft. No suggestions though, love em as they are. But what I want to say is that I'm learning to javacode, and I might be interested in joining in a while, possibly a month when i'm experienced with java. :biggrin.gif:

Dude, awesome idea for Nethercraft. I've played around with it on 1.4, but why are you updating it for 1.4 when 1.5 has already come out? If there's a way to use it, IDK it. So could somebody tell me?
Oh, btw, I have an idea for nethercraft. On Netherdirt, there could be a form of nether grass that could be harvested for some form of nether wheat seeds. (If there will be any passive mobs, they could spawn commonly on it too?) I imagined it as having an orangish-yellow texture, keeping to the theme of 'fire and lava hellish world' of the Nether. That's my idea. :tongue.gif: Please, build on my idea. I think it's great! (but then again, thats my opinion, since I thought of it :tongue.gif:)

Really cool mod, but I was testing all the records on a test world, (with all the addons) and a lot of them seemed to not work. Some would even transform into other records when I took them out of the jukebox. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks! :biggrin.gif: :iapprove:

posted a message on [1.1] Piston patch - updated for 1.1
    Quote from Whirlpoolwas »
I think that crafting 2, 3 or 4 (3+1 or 2+2) would craft a piston block that is the respective amount long as the number you of pistons put together.

a double piston would have a piston that is 2 blocks long and its base would be 2 blocks long, 4 when extened.
a triple would be 3 blocks long, 6 when extended
a quad would be 4 blocks long, 8 when extended

Or make them magically retract into 1 block.

Thats a really cool idea, but the part about having the base change size depending on how many are crafted together just doesn't seem convenient for things possible with pistons of that length.
BTW, this also made me think that 4 pistons arranged into a square in the workbench would craft a large 2x2x2 piston, that would have an extention length of 2 block out in a 2x2 square. (possibly pushing obsidian, but not bedrock.)

    This is epic!!! Love it.
When I saw that you might make pistons push others, I thought that if both pistons are facing the same direction, when first piston pushes the second, it extends the second one as well. If i'm wrong, then please correct me. I just wanted to get things streight. (But if this wasn't what you were thinking of, then consider it! :biggrin.gif: It could be useful for making large trapdoors and such.)
