Bump for a brand new, way-overdue update!
My texture pack is now updated to Romecraft 16. This update includes a HUGE array of updated textures, a bunch of brand new textures, and even a few new Roman-themed models! This version is also an update to the newest version of Minecraft, version 1.10.2.

This looks excellent as always. Your steam systems are adequate. I once noted to you that I am currently restoring portions of an actual 1890's era steam warship. Well, I am still doing just that, but now I am working on several steam engines at once and have a pretty good grasp on steam technology! If you ever want to know about the real deal, I can go on about it for ages.
I also once noted that the main engines of my ship (being giant reciprocating steam types) were 100 tons. I was wrong - They are each 530 tons. Steam engines are really frickin' heavy!
Anyway, I sent you a pm about some Romecraft stuff, if you're interested in helping me out with some modding advice!
Good to see you still around.

it seems you missed my request
Sorry about that! I plan on porting to pocket edition myself at some point when the pack is more refined.
Thank you for the offer, however.

Hello again, my good friend! It's very good to have you visit again.
Mmm. 'Hybrid'? Well, in all honesty, that's what my 64x pack currently is, and calling it such would certainly be a more accurate description...I like it! I'm seriously going to think about the pros and cons regarding this. 'Hybrid' also conjures up just the right mood for my fantastical retro sci-fi theme pack. Thanks, StugAce.
Anyways, how's your restoration and museum work coming along?
Very well! Been there for 2 1/2 years now (about as long as I've done Romecraft actually, haha) and lots has been done to preserve and restore. Fresh paint all around and some new welded plates. Fun stuff!
As with hybrid texture packs, my armor has always been 32x32. I recently transferred that idea to decorative blocks and objects that would be more "precise" so to speak, such as rounded door handles on doors, neater grating for windows, etc. I still however make the textures have the -feel- of a 16x16.
Here's an example with my new columns.
The only thing I did was make my bottom shadowing and top lightening in 32x32, with the rest still using 16x16 pixels. Makes for a much neater column structure, so that the blocks actually look like column segments butted up to each other, while still looking like minecraft.

That's what I'm doing lately with Romecraft (16x/32x hybrid) - Makes for an interesting look, while still maintaining the minecraft theme. Also, excellent work as always Glimmar. I am still jealous of your ability.Posted in: Resource Packs

A Little about you: I am 22, and an avid history buff (and history major) in mainly industrial and military history, though I have a soft spot for the advancements of Ancient Roman architecture, technology, and military structures. I am a preservation technician and know an extensive bit on architecture and design. I am the creator of the texture pack Romecraft, which is fairly popular amongst a tight group of Roman fans such as myself, and I have created dozens and dozens of historically accurate structures, from small roman huts to a 1:1 Coliseum and Pantheon. I also own the server Romecraft:The Frontier, in which we do heavy Roman RP and themed building.
RolePlay Experience:Read above, I led the Romecraft RP server and have also written several fictional short stories on various subjects.
Have you Read the Rules: Yes sir.
Do you understand the Class System: Yes sir.
Tribe you wish to Join: Romans (of course)
Have you voted for us on minestatus: No, not sure what it is.
Have you applied the correct skin: I have a variety of Roman skins, I can adapt any of them to look more "ancient" than Ancient Rome if needed.
Have you signed up to our Forums: I have, though they confuse me somewhat on their layout (and lack of members?)

How popular is this server?
It's a fairly small community, since it is a rather specific theme. We have about 25-30 active members.

Hmm, do you wage war against other tribes such as other servers? This looks pretty amazing and i cant wait to join.
Not yet. We have had a slight dip in players since our earlier creation, and we had to ditch the barbarian faction due to too many people PvPing and not enough RP actually occurring. We may reincorporate a PvP aspect with more players, possibly in the form of Gladiator matches.

The Roman Empire, 24BCE...Emperor Augustus sent his Legions across the mountains, the plains, and the oceans, all in the Glory of Rome, and for the honor of his name. The vast empire of Rome spread across most of the known world, grasping every resource ever discovered and holding the civilized world as its own. Augustus still pushed on, civilizing the barbarians as he went, and discovering new lands and resources as he spearheaded the mysterious North. As he pierced deeper into the frontier, he discovered a world unlike any he had encountered before. The lands were lush, unsettled, and wild. Jungles spotted the land in some areas, while mysterious deserts filled others. Volcanic islands rich with resources were taken in name the name of Augustus, spearheaded by his namesake legion, Legio Augusta. Soon, however, a new evil showed its face - the Undead Horde. As mysterious as the land itself, the Undead began to arrive as the Romans began to settle. Quickly, the smaller settlements were overrun, Legions further West were destroyed, and Legio Augusta itself was badly damaged in battles against the demonic enemy. The Legion was ordered to hold its ground and to continue to fight back, establishing forts and harbors, later to be developed as civilized cities. As the fight drew on, Legio Augusta needed more troops, and a general call was made to all able men and women to settle and fight in the Frontier North...
Welcome to Romecraft: The Frontier, a heavy RP server based in Ancient Rome, founded by the creator of the Texture pack Romecraft. Our mission is to provide a server in which you can live and build in a Minecraft-spoof of Ancient Rome! With admin created missions, dungeons, and RP scenarios, we strive to provide the best Roman experience around. With plenty of building restrictions, though lenient, our server produces some of the best architects around, encouraging realistic structures based on and copied from real life examples found in all parts of the Ancient Roman Empire, from between 200 BCE to 150CE.
We here at Romecraft enforce a strong Roman RP setting, down to each admin and player-created building. Over time, we will post guides and advice on how to create basic Roman structures, and will encourage creative new twists on historic Roman architecture. If you are not a good builder, do not worry! We will help you develop your skills. Though there is a strong builder-oriented theme on this server, we still remain a survival server to greater invoke realism and RP situations.
Join the Legion! Though we have both SPQR (civilian) and Army factions, we mostly encourage the Legion. The Legion is for hardcore Roleplayers that want the fullest experience of the server, living in barracks, struggling against the Undead Horde, and striving for promotion and honor. The Legion forms new towns, in which Legionnaires and the SPQR can settle. Admin created missions allow greater Legionnairy rewards, while a point system based on development of towns/forts provides players with free daily supplies from the capital city of Augusta.
Exploration is still part of the server, no worries here. We are recently creating multiple worlds of varying development and themes to keep the user happy and refreshed. Custom, historic worlds are now being incorporated, with themed biomes, dense pine forests and rolling hills. These settings are perfect for the most hardcore of Roman roleplayers!
Join today! We'd be happy to accept you into the Romecraft family with the proper application. You can visit our forum HERE if you wish to fill out an application! Be warned, though, this takes the serious, mature sort of Roleplayer to play.
