Come on Ammar, you are drunk. You can't just smash potions together on a big iron bench with a large hammer and somehow have them combine.
Maybe pour it in a cauldron instead.
You cant smash a book into a pickaxe, giving it special abilities too... But a use for cauldrons would be nice.

How about the moon is a 3d ball in the sky, and the sun is a 3d ball in the sky.
then they pass over eachother!
They would have to be cubes, otherwise it would take away the lovely blocky sun. I kind of want the sun and moon to stay the same, it's just the sun needs a second "phase."

Could the eclipse have an effect on zombies and other hostile mobs?
I didn't think about that. I just think it would protect them from the sun, but not making them spawn.

I support, but what about Lunar eclipses?
Lunar eclipses happen at night, and many people would confuse them for moon phases. I would like it, but it wouldn't really work well.

This would actually look really neat if it were put in. Thing is that it should happen in minecraft time not in real life time. But I totally support this. It should have some effect on some things. When the solar eclipse is happening, certain mobs or new mobs (never before seen) should spawn. Also, new locations or passage ways should be revealed. Since this only happens once a month Minecraft time it should be very special, Don't you think? I really support this and I believe it should be put into the game. You should need to add a little bit more to when the Eclipse happens that's all. If this isn't added into the game this would be a really nice mod.
That sounds neat, but I want it to be decorative, and not impact much gameplay. I like the idea of new mobs spawning though, but they should be rare.

I had an idea like this.
How about when the eclipses happen, the daytime lowers the brightness to 7, causing mobs to spawn?
or it can just stay for aesthetics
There could be partial eclipses and total eclipses, in where partial eclipses make no mobs spawn, but total eclipses make them spawn.
I might draw a picture of a partial eclipse later, and update the suggestion with the feedback.

how about in minecraft days one every 3 months (91-92 minecraft days)?
Then in real life, it would appear around every week or so. I kind of want them to be rare, so it can seem more realistic, and catch people by surprise, when they are least expecting it.

Interesting idea. I don't think all mobs should increase, but they should increase the chances of spawning with armor and weapons. Other than that, 1/2 support.

Jan 20, 2013In science class, we are learning about solar and lunar eclipses. I thought solar eclipses look really neat, and thought "How would they look in Minecraft?" Then again, Minecraft needs something to say "Wow" about. EDIT: Added a picture. EDIT: Updated and partial eclipse.Posted in: Suggestions
These could happen around twice a month in real time, or every year or so in Minecraft time. Solar eclipses are really rare in real life after all.
During an eclipse, hostile mobs don't spawn except for Endermen. They will be automatically hostile. They don't notice you until you are 32 blocks away, so they don't teleport to you and spam kill you. Also, any creepers that spawn underground will have a 10% chance of being charged. This will add a scary concept to eclipses as well as an amazing sight. Eclipses last for up to five minutes.
With the addition of eclipses, they would also have to make the moon very faintly visible during the day. They should make the moon have a different path, slower than the sun, and move in a different direction, and not from east to west.
Thoughts on the idea?

Jan 18, 2013StubbyEE posted a message on Does anyone else consider "Bane of Arthropods" a junk enchantment?I think it is a "junk" enchantment because as many others said, it's only effective against spiders and silverfish. Silverfish you barely find anyways, and spiders are a bit uncommon compared to zombies and skeletons.Posted in: Survival Mode

Jan 18, 2013When I was building, I noticed the underside of normal quartz blocks has the marble appearance. Double quartz slabs keep the tiled appearance underneath.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Left: Normal quartz block
Right: Double quartz slab
This can be useful for building, for those who want it to keep it's tiled appearance. I thought it was interesting, so I posted it here.
