posted a message on Anybody able to identify this extremely old texture pack?

I recently found an old screenshot of mine from 2010. It was one of the earliest screenshots I had ever taken, and I'm curious if there's a way to figure out what the texture pack was. It's unlikely but I figure i'd see if anybody can help me out, thanks.

posted a message on Looking for Keyboard and Monitor Reccomendations.
I've got disposable income lying around, and it's about time i replace my monitor and keyboard.

Budget wise, looking for a monitor ~$200, Looking for a keyboard ~$120

Cherry MX Brown, Black, Or Red are preferred on the keyboard. I've never had a mechanical so it'd be a first on this. LED backlighting would be nice too, but not required.

Basicially, if anyone has some experience with something similar or has some recoommendations, i'd really like some. I've pushed this off for a while because it's hard for me to make decisions without some trustable feedback.

No clear installation. Three types of downloads with no explanation of each. Tried all 3. causes crashing no matter what. Just wanting to use NEI. very dissapointed in how vague OP is, even if i very well might just not be understanding it.

i wouldnt prepare a build this early. prices could easily change and new things could come out. better to start thinking about this when the season hits.

Has OP confirmed if he needs monitor/mouse/etc aswell? he has windows 7 so i would assume he has other salvagable parts but he might be using them for a different computer

    He was just comparing prices.

i just figured i would mention there was more improvement room in case OP might've glanced at it and said "only $100 to not have to do work? i'll just get it prebuilt!"

If you are absolutely set on a prebuilt, go with this: http://www.cyberpowe...om/saved/1FC260

Does not include a monitor; you should buy it separately. Also keep an eye on that power supply. Corsair's CX series are better than the standard no name units, but only just.

Same build in PCPartPicker if you built it yourself: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1s43O

$100 less before rebates and discounts, $170 after. I'm kinda surprised the price difference wasn't greater.

the issue here is you just copied over the prebuilt. you couldve stuck in better parts (7950, etc) for a near price and better performance

4:3 allows for a lot more vertical space, making it better for web browsing, working on documents, etc..

Also because I just like the look of a sqaureish laptop.

    i, uh... what?

you know 16:9 or 16:10 is just as tall, if not taller?
just put your browser in a window and make it take up half the screen instead of all of it, same effect but with extra space on the side for other things.

    Budget: $1000 - $1800
System Usage: Gaming, Recording, and Livestreaming
Are you including monitor, peripherals, OS etc in your budget?: Yes i want a mouse, keyboard, monitor, camera, and headphones for commentarys.
Preferred Websites / Stores for parts: No
    Overclocking, yes or no?: Yes
SLI / Crossfire, yes or no?: Yes
Monitor Resolution (if upgrading, post the resolution of the monitor resolution you want):
    Other: I have a 1680x1050 but i want a second monitor so 1366x768 - 1920x1080
Why are you upgrading? My Pc went out and its about time for a new one.

Pre-Built if possible cause i really don't want to search for parts or software for it

    commentaries*

You don't have to search for parts, we generally use a website like pcpartpicker, which compiles the full list for you and links you to the retailers selling it. it's generally just hopping on newegg or amazon, putting the parts in your cart and ordering.
"software" is just putting in your OS disc, installing it and then using it like a normal computer.

with your budget we could easily whip up a nice build.

i know people who bought computers from cyberpower that ran well and had them for a year

obviously you have not seen a self built computer to see how it could run circles around your spoiled friend's prebuilt.

by the way, a year is a pretty bad lifespan, even for a prebuilt. i had an old 2009 prebuilt before i built my current one 2 weeks ago, that prebuilt last 4 years and my parents still use it today. of course it played everything on minimum and still lagged, whereas my current can go max settings on every game i own.

no, you came for advice on getting a good computer.
guess what buddy, i'm advising you to build one.

I TALKED HER INTO IT SHE WON'T ORDER 10 PARTS

you realise most online stores ship everything in a single box when ordered at once. with my build i only had 2 boxes, since i ordered half on amazon and half on newegg.

you came here for advice on getting a good computer, right?

i'm advising you to build it.

you will not find a true "extream" gaming prebuilt for a pretty price, especially $600

building is just popping things into place, i built my first 2 weeks ago and it was easy as hell. just watch a tutorial and do a little research. your parents wallet and yourself will be thanking us later.

hmmm... It seems pretty good. I like the graphics card alot. All the parts seem good too, however, i am clueless with mother boards and it has mixed reviews and a lot of cons. If someone could tell me more about motherboards and find a different one, i think i might have a good gaming rig.

your comments are concerning me. you're acting like you understand it but you're thumbing up some bad options. it looks like you're working with karlz so i guess it's alright now
