Does anyone besides me think that there should be stars on the banner snapshot?
I think that using a gold nugget to get a star is good for me, like when you use them nuggets to get the star effect with the fireworks. :3

Crumpetxxix posted a message on Charged Creeper in SurvivalHeh just read about that this morning. What I plan to do is attempt to trap and name a few creepers so they dont despawn. Cage them up outside in an open area with direct access to the sky. Pray ever day that I get a lightning storm (and never sleep away the rain) and by pure luck the lightning will hit one. Then build a universal mob farm which I will proceed to clog up and try to get the mobs as close as I can to 1 hit without killing them, and then bring the charged creeper in.Posted in: Survival Mode -

dirtminer6 posted a message on TabardsPosted in: SuggestionsWHATS A TABARD?This is a tabard:
Simple idea really.
On some servers you might be on a certain team. If your on a certain team, you'll probably want to...look like your team or have a feeling of "team pride" (or you probably just want to easlily be able to find other members of the team or maybe look cool or whatever...)
Anyways tabards would make it very easy to represent yourself to fellow server-goers. Here is how they would be crafted.
All tabards need 2 leather and 1 wool of any color.
This is how you craft a orange tabard...
and this is how you craft a brown tabard...
and a purple tabard.... I think you get the point. Tabards can be any color (as long as you have the dyes to make it that color of course.)
They can not be enchanted and do not give any perks (besides austhetics of course.)
They will have there own little slot beside ther armor slot and they do not stick to armor or anything so you can change tabards if you want to.
Once you make your tabard you will be able to choose a design for your tabard (for instance, maybe one design to choose from is a creepers head. If you choose it, a black outline of a creepers head will appear on the front or back of your tabard. I dunno how many designs the tabard creater would be able to choose from. 20 maybe? All having something to do with minecraft...)
If you want to change the design you have to go to a anvil and insert your tabard and some wool and you will be able to change the design.
You do not need armor on to have a tabard on.
Also should be available on survival mode, just in case you want to customize your looks.
Supporter ideas
MUSHROOMSOCK has come up with a couple ideas for tabard designs:
1.Creeper
2. Plain
3.Star.
4. Checkers
5.Moon
6. Cube
7,8,9,10,11. Tools.
12. Skull (Crossbones?)
13. Ore
14. Diamond
15. Cookie
16. Portal
17. Guardian Eye
18. +
19. Halved Vertically
20. Halved HorizontallyAnd here are some more design from undeadgaming606:
1. Gold Ingot
2. Iron Ingot
3. Lapis Lazuli
4. Emerald
5. Nether Quartz
6. Redstone
7. Ender Eye
8. Ender Pearl
9. Wither Skeleton Skull
10. Nether Star
Even more design ideas from stevecraftwood:
Emerald
Diamond Sword/Pickaxe crossed over a piece of diamond ore
Pig
Eye of Ender
Draconzis has a simple idea to make tabards not have a full slot, but share the chest piece slot.Snowbiome_chaos has come up with an idea to make it so that after you make your tabard, you can get any random thing (like a creeper head or a stick) and add it to your tabard via the crafting table for your design instead of picking one at the begining.
So theres my idea i hope you like and support it. Its nothing game breaking and adds a lot of character variety.
Updates:
Although still pretty new, it seems like this idea is pretty popular so far. Most people like this idea. Cool. Now i think something that would "win" over peoples support would be actual 3D models of tabards with different designs and colors. If someone is interested in making a 3D model of a couple tabards, PM me. Thanks!

NagaviperTheLord posted a message on Quivers, Arrows, and Bows, oh my! A post all about ranged equipmentPosted in: SuggestionsWelcome one and all to Sniper's Galore!
This suggestion is not a wishlist, at least in my opinion. I originally started it as a suggestion to bring the quiver back into Minecraft, but over months and years turned it into a suggestion to improve on ranged equipment. There may be some parts of the topic you support, and there may be others you are not too fond of. If you have any comments, please voice your opinion to help this suggestion grow!
1: The QuiverMost of us know what the quiver item is, was, or probably never will be- a removed item that stored arrows in it. While it may not seem very useful, it can cut down on inventory space for arrows, leaving you with an extra few slots. How would you craft this item?
If anyone has a better suggestion for the crafting recipe, I'd like to see it.
Picture of the quiver:
So there you have it. A quiver that can store arrows in it. To compensate for the fact that 64 arrows is a staggering amount, it'd be best if the stacks of arrows were limited to 16 arrows per stack, similar to eggs, snowballs, and ender pearls. This makes it more useful to carry the quiver because it can hold more than 16 arrows in its slots, freeing up 4-5 inventory slots for those who like to use bows. The quiver also alternates; this means that it shoots an arrow from the first slot, and moves to the second slot, then third, fourth, etc in a rotating pattern.
Picture of the quiver's slots:
2: New Arrows
These new arrows do not do more damage than the other. Rather, they have different effects that can be used to a player's advantage. Don't worry, there's no diamond arrows or emerald arrows or anything, but the arrows do have some different effects.
Slime Arrow
1. Slime Arrow. Crafted using an arrow and slimeball, duh. When the slime arrow is fired at an enemy, it releases small slime particles that do minuscule amounts of splash damage to any nearby enemies. There is also a 16% chance of a baby slime being spawned when this arrow is fired.
Fire Arrow
2. Fire Arrow. Now I know this seems useless with the flames enchantment, but hear me out. Crafted using coal in place of the flint on an arrow and a blaze rod in place of the stick. The crafting recipe may seem a little OP but its because of what this arrow is capable of doing, plus it fits with the theme. When fired, it lights victims on fire, but also creates light and can set fire to blocks. This arrow cannot be picked up, unike the enchanted version. When paired up with the enchantment, fire arrows drop trails of fire sparks which can harm the player. Yes, this arrow can harm the player when it contacts him/her. A good, but deadly, alternative to the enchantment.
I am going to redo this arrow soon, so most of the information will change.
Undead Arrow
3. Undead Arrow. Crafted using a bone in place of the stick on an arrow. When this arrow is fired, it has a life-steal effect based on how much damage the bow is capable of inflicting. A fully charged bow steals either 1/2 to 1 heart, and this adds up based on the power/punch enchantments present on the bow. This arrow is incapable of stealing more than 3 hearts.
I will be changing some stuff on this arrow soon, mainly the crafting recipe.
Razebomb Arrow
4. Razebomb Arrow. Crafted using gunpowder and an arrow. When it hits anything, it creates a minor explosion that does not destroy blocks. Like a creeper explosion but with mobGriefing turned false.
Blitz Arrow
5. Blitz Arrow. The crafting recipe for this one is sort of whack. It's a redstone in place of flint, gold ingot on one side and iron on other. Why is this? This is because gold and iron are conductors of electricity and redstone is "wire" in the game, so it fits together somewhat nicely in my opinion. 50% chance of striking victims with lightning. If lightning is not used, it will still make a thundering sound when it lands a hit. Watch out for the pigmen!
I might either change this arrow or remove it from this suggestion.
Pictures of different arrows in-game (taken from Hexxit)
From left to right: Blitz arrow, Fire arrow, Slime arrow, and Undead arrow
This is mostly concept art, it is not what I have in mind for the arrows.
3: New Bows and AccesoriesWell, this is the newest addition to my suggestion. I have ideas for new bows. Keep in mind, these bows are not strengthy or anything. They have different effects, for example, one of the bows has longer range, another one has arrow effects, another one has extra durability, and another one is more accurate. Here they are.
Long Bow (Undergoing Change)
1. Long Bow: Crafting recipe is below this description. This bow is more durable than the average, daily bow, which upon implementation the old bow will be re-named Short Bow. Why? This bow is not only more durable, but it also shoots farther. This means that the old bow's range will be lowered, to compensate for the new one. The long bow doesn't have any more of a damage tweak. Also since it is bigger and shoots farther, this bow takes a longer time to nock an arrow. Same enchantments as short bow.
Crafting recipe will change soon
Scoped Bow
2. Scoped Bow: The first thing you will need for this bow is a scope, which is crafted like so: By itself, the scope can be used for viewing far distances, such as beyond the render distance. You can start viewing things close up, like 50 blocks away. The more you scroll with your mouse wheel, the farther you can zoom. When the scope item is put with a bow, you can activate it with right click and that also activates your bow notch. While you zoom in, you are also nocking an arrow onto the bow. Crafting goes as such: By the way, compass is in place of scope.
Grapple Hook/Bow
3. Grapple Hook: This was once an arrow that I deleted because of negative response from the community. I decided that I liked it though, so I've brought it back. This bow is, frankly, not a bow. It's more of an extension or accesory like the scope. To make the grapple hook, you need to use an item called the harpoon or hook. It's crafted like so:
The harpoon/hook is almost like a fishing rod, but it actually does damage to its victim. Great for aquatic hunting, especially if fish are added and squids are changed. Back on topic though, when you attach a harpoon to a bow, you get the grapple hook. There is no recipe, just a bow and hook together. When you fire the grapple hook, it has two main functions- when it hits a mob or non-tile entity, if you use the scroll wheel, you can pull the entity to you. If, on the other hand, the hook lands on a block, you can move towards it like a real grapple hook. James-Bondy, I know, lol. Also this bow will have a faster firing rate.
Fishing rod is in place of harpoon
Pictures of differing sizes in short bow and long bow (taken from Hexxit)
Here's the short bow...
And there's the long bow. The size difference is noticeable if you look for it.

Thanks to everyone who commented for giving your feedback and ideas to help shape this suggestion! We've come a long way since I first posted this, and there's more to come in the future, including enchantments and some tweaks on current items.

Prologue:
There was darkness.
It was within this darkness, this void, that he ruled supreme. He did not know his name. He did not have one. He was simply Void. But where there is darkness, there is a torch. A glimmer of light.
Notch.
Notch and Void battled for a millennium. Finally, Notch managed to imprison Void deep within the darkness, sealed off from the world by a layer of material called Bedrock. Notch slowly created a world above this bedrock. He created trees, grass, lakes and rivers, stone and caves, ores and lava. He created pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, horses, wolves, ocelots, squid. But the world needed more then just small creatures and animals. He created the Minecraftian's, humanoid blocky men. They had incredible strength, and mined throughout the rocky caves and ravines of the world. They forged a great kingdom, ruled over by King Thoran. But Notch created others. He created the Testificate's, simple, peaceful folk, with a fond love of emeralds. Their villages collected a great deal of curious items over the years, and the people were well known as traders. Eventually, Notch decided to create yet another realm.
This realm would be deep below the vast void, but the core of the void, the center, the prison, would be contained within its crust. This realm was dubbed The Ether. It was a peaceful realm, with vast, cavernous structures of dirt and grass, and wonderful oceans. It was inhabited by the pigmen. They lived in harmony, in tribes scattered across the land. They traded and became good friends with the Minecraftian's, using portals crafted of obsidian to travel between the realms. Notch decided to create yet another realm, a realm that would allow his world to be complete. But he needed help. He created the Mojang Council, to assist him in overseeing the realm. He chose three senior members, Jeb, Dinnerbone, and Grumm. Together, they created The End. It marked the final realm, and the most curious. It was inhabited by the Farlander's, tall dark, green eyed creatures, incredibly smart. They visited the Overworld using three portals, located in underground strongholds deep below the earth. None of the other races knew of their existence.
Meanwhile, something had happened. King Thoran has been assassinated. Suddenly, the Minecraftian's were under siege. A dark force had risen. The Dark Lord of the Void, Herobrine. Lord Herobrine lay waste to the Minecraftian's, infecting them with a horrific plague, transforming them into zombies and skeletons. The son of King Thoran, Prince Ezerald, blamed the pigmen. The remaining forces of Minecraftian's lay waste to the pigmen empire. Unknown to them, the pigmen had heard of this 'Lord Herobrine', and had used vast gold deposits within lava chasms to amass great golden fortresses, and an army, the Golden Horde. These lava chasms had also contained the spawn of the Ghasts, enormous, white, squid-like creatures. The pigmen rode them into battle against the armies of the Minecraftian's. Lord Herobrine's corruption had all but obliterated his two greatest threats.
The remnants of the Minecraftian's fled the ether, and Herobrine descended down on the remaining pigmen, including Porcusaurum. His corruption knew no bounds, and Porcusaurum fell to the dark lures of power. The ghasts, fearing both Herobrine and the remaining humans, blasted open the lava chasms. The once brilliant world was burned into ashes. It became The Nether. The pigmen were resurrected as horrific beasts, the Zombie Pigmen. They had no master, and roamed the land in vicious packs and tribes. The golden fortesses, burned and blackened into dark red brick, became a symbol of Porcusaurum's power. He created guardians to watch over the fortress, Blazes. The tormented remains of the dead human soldiers became his elite soldiers, the Wither Skeletons. Herobrine had power, and most of all, domination.
But one dimension still resisted him. The armies of the Farlander's had barricaded their dimension's portals. But they were still within The Void. He created a beast, an Ender Drake, from the depth's of his realm. The Ender Dragon lay wastes to the cities of the Farlander's, all but obliterating them. The survivors became Endermen, and their eyes glowed purple with the power of the dragon. Notch oversaw what had happened, and he would not stand for it. He descended down to Herobrine's fortress within The Void, and battled him. Notch fought bravely, but Herobrine easily crushed him. Notch lay, dieing.
Meanwhile, a group of warriors, led by Jeb assaulted The Nether. Porcusaurum, seeing them attacking, knew it was time. He crushed a small, black skull, given to him by the dark lord. He was transformed, into a horrific creature, The Wither. The Wither lay waste to them, imprisoning the rest of the Mojang Council deep within The Nether. Back in the overworld, the Tesificate's barely survived, hiding within their houses during the night from the horrific hordes of zombies.
As Notch died, he had one, final image. Someone who would defeat Herobrine. Someone who would put an end to this madness. A savior.
Steve...
Chapter 1:
Awakening
I groaned, and slowly stood up. My head was spinning, and I wandered a few steps before once again collapsing, and drifting into darkness...
He was running. It was getting closer. He through his pickaxe into the ground. The sand began to crumble away. He leaped. He made the jump. He turned around, and he was there.
"There's no escape, Steve."
I jolted awake, again and stood up. I spun around. I was deep within a forest. The oak trees towered above me.
Where am I?
Who am I?
My name.... my name is Steve.
Somehow, on some primal, instinctive level I knew I needed food and shelter before nightfall. I walked up to a tree and stared up to it. "How am I ever going to chop you down?" I spoke to myself, resting a hand on the fine oak trunk. To my surprise, it cracked. I knocked on the trunk, and little cracks appeared all across it. I began to punch the tree down, and suddenly the block broke. A small, spinning replica of the wood landed on the ground. Suddenly it flew straight into my hand. I leaped back. "This sure is strange..." I thought to myself. I began to punch more trees, and before long I had a form of wooden workbench built, and some crude wood tools. "Now to work on a shelter" I said to myself. I set to work, punching and smashing.
I finally had a small wooden hut built. It was crude, but at least I had the time to gather a bit of cobblestone to make a furnace for warmth and light. I had also gathered some beef from some nearby cow's I had discovered, and also managed to herd them into a pen for breeding. The beef made some fine steak. I stared up at the sky, looking for the sun. It was beginning to set, and I knew it would be dark soon. I sighed, and lay down upon the soft grassy 'bed' I had made
"Squee!"
I bolted awake. Something was out there. I grabbed my crude wooden sword off of the workbench and stepped outside. The moonlight shone down upon the forest. A small baby animal, a pig, was running in terror from some.... thing. It wore similar clothes to myself, a light blue tee and indigo jeans, but that's about where the similarities ended. It has black, empty eyes, dark green skin and dark brown dirt hair. It was like....
A zombie.
I charged at the creature with his sword, and stabbed my weapon into its back. The sword splintered, but it was to be effective. The creature moaned and collapsed. I bent down and looted it for resources. Some pieces of rotting flesh, an and a carrot. I snatched up the carrot, and was about to turn around when the pig oinked. I turned around. It looked tired, and starving.
"You want this?"
I held it out, and the baby pig squealed in delight and followed him into the cabin. He leaped up into my bed and munched it right up. I lay down, and the pig curled up into my arms.
"Goodnight, Cubie." I said.
Chapter 2:
Creepers
"Rise and shine Cubie, we've got a big day ahead of us" I yawned. Cubie sat up with an oink, and leaped down onto the floor. I grabbed my makeshift stone sword off the workbench, and walked outside. I leaped up a tree to get a good look around the area. The forest stretched farther to the east, and there was a large range of mountains to the north. I turned south, and saw a sprawling beach, and wide open seas. Off to the west, the forest seemed to give way into open plains. I leaped back down and turned to Cubie.
"Ready to get going Cubie?" I asked.
"Oink!"
"Alright then, lets get moving. We're going to make for the West, towards those open plains, maybe we can find a settlement."
"Oink!"
I leaped onto Cubie's back, and we set off, my y small amount of belongings in a leather pack made from cow hide.
Several hours later...
"I think we're lost Cubie..." I said with a sigh.
We had absolutely no idea where we had gotten off to, and had ended up in the mountains. Together, we trekked over the last peak, and I spotted a horrific site.
Eight skeletal archers were marching four men into what looked like a temple or fortress, embedded into the mountainside. It was built out of stone brick, and carved into the main area was an enormous face, with large eyes, and a perpetual frown. Something about it was familiar, but he shook it out of his mind, and focused on the apparent prisoners.
"Let me go you monster!" one of them screamed.
"Now now then, lets not be hasty, we wouldn't want any unforunate 'accident's on the way to His Lordship, now would we" one of the archers said with a skeletal grin.
Upon closer inspection, the prisoners didn't look like normal people. Their heads were taller then normal, and their noses were enormous. Maybe the natives of this place? he thought to himself. The guards and the 'squidnose men' vanished into the fortress. I unsheathed my stone sword, and me and Cubie ran down the slope, and entered the fortress. Suddenly, I heard a noise behind my in the entryway.
Ssssssssss....
Chapter 3:
The Cubed One
Minecraftian skulls.
On the throne was a skeleton, adorned in shining golden armor. Next to the throne sat a spider, gnawing on the bones of some sort of animal, maybe a cow. The skeleton was clearly the ruler, some sort of lord or king. Suddenly, the large spruce doors at the entrance to the chamber swung open. The same eight skeletons from the entrance marched in, bows trained on the men. They marched right up to the king, where they bowed.
"Lord Calvariae" one of them said.
"I see you found the pestering Testificates meddling with His plans" he said with pleasure.
"Yes your Lordship. We caught them en route to the ancient temple"
"So then, you were trying to reclaim the lost blade? Still relying on that silly prophecy?"
"You fool!" one of them screamed. "The Cubed One will come, and you monstrous scum will burn in the Nether for all eternity!"
Lord Calvariae began to laugh. "The Cubed One? What do you think would become of your precious prophecy, if I had him in my clutches!"
My cage began to rattle, and swung down, hanging over the skeletal overlord. The Testificate's eyes went wide with shock and rage.
"You demon!" the same one who had spoken earlier screamed.
Lord Calvariae turned to his spider. "Dispose of him" he spoke.
The man screamed in pain as the spider leaped on him and picked him up with its monstrous fangs, then tossed him into the lava. The man's screams were cut silent.
"Douglas!" one of them screamed, this one in a green robe, unlike the other two, who wore brown robes.
"Now then, lets have some fun with your prophecy", Lord Calvariae chuckled, as all the skeletons in the room broke into an uproar of laughter."
Chapter 4:
Escape
"Its alright buddy, we'll get out of this"... I assured him
Somehow.... I thought to myself
"So, you're The Cubed One..." said Lord Cavariae. I expected you to be a bit more of a challenge. "Never met a Creeper before I see. Pathetic."
I barely heard him, too focused on trying to find a way to escape. Suddenly, I felt a clunk in my pocket, and lifted out an apple. It probably wouldn't work, I doubted it would work, but it was worth a shot...
I chucked the apple. It sailed through the air, and smashed into the rock wall, slipping straight into the lava. The skeletons broke into an uproar of laughter and their prisoners feeble attempts to escape.
The ground rumbled.
A few of the skeletons looked around warily.
The wall smashed open.
The throne room erupted into chaos. Four enormous golems made of iron ran through the breach in the wall, quickly dispatching some of the guards. Several Testificate's with bows and iron swords also ran in, at least nine. The skeletal overlord began firing off arrows, taking down three of the warriors. Several zombies leaped onto a golem, and it collapsed. In the mix of chaos, the villager in the green robes sliced the iron chains of my cage, causing it to smash open on the ground. He threw me an iron sword, and I barely had time to shout a "Thanks!" before he engaged in battle again, dual iron swords slicing through the mobs like clay. I charged Lord Calvariae, smashing his bow against the ground. He unsheathed a sword that appeared to be made of a form of quartz, and attempted to strike at me. Skeletons clearly aren't the best with swords, because it was easy to get inside his guard, and I struck him down, disarming him and grabbing his sword. He fled, leaping onto his spider and climbing through a gap in the ceiling. I put the iron sword on my back, and chopped up several more mobs. The mobs, without a leader, were easily defeated. We'd only lost three men and a golem, so it was easily a victory. The Testificate's turned towards me in awe.
"The Cubed One." the green robed villager spoke, and he bowed, as did the others.
"Look, I don't know what's going on or who the Cubed One is" he said. "I just woke up in this world about two days ago, and I have no idea what's going on."
"Come with us, to our village." the same villager said. "We will explain as much as we know. You must be hungry." he said, tossing me a piece of steak and a carrot. I handed Cubie the carrot, and ate up the steak. Outside, nine horses waited. Cubie was clearly tired, so I leaped on a chestnut horse with large white spots, and he climbed up with me. The horse winnied, and I looked at the nametag hanging around its neck.
"Emerald..." I muttered. "Its a good name."
The horse neighed appreciatively, and we set off, as the sunrise bathed the land in light.
Trivia:
*Cubie, and his relationship with Steve, is based off the music video Cube Land by Slamacow.
*Steve's voice sounds like Steve from ElementAnimation's videos, so its recommended to envision it like that, as does Herobrine's respectively.
