Come play survival at the Arglyx Runecraft server! Connect at mc.arglyx.com

We use the Runecraft plugin to extend the game. It allows you to make teleporters, trampolines, mountain-movers, super-charged picks, super-charged axes and much more. Oh, and it let's you web-swing like that guy spider man. and fly.

This is how our world looks like:

It is set in a custom ice biome world generated by the Hothgenerator. It's a hard survival map, it'll be difficult to get set up but when you do it comes with a sense of accomplishment.

Server is small, with 7-10 people on at peak times. (NA-Evenings) People playing prefer the semi-vanilla experience the server provides. We have people from age 12 to age 30 playing, both dudes, dudettes and those in the middle. Please respect this and don't discriminate against anyone.

Server has PVP enabled and allowed anywhere, so if you want to ensure your own survival, band together with friends.

We don't use a lot of plugins, and are quite happy with that. Our standard set for a few months now has been GriefPrevention for land claiming, BarterSigns to facilitate a trade-based economy and Runecraft for an extensive system of runic magic. GriefPrevention and BarterSigns are extremely easy to learn, and require very few commands. Runecraft however is a scholarly endeavor to learn thoroughly.

NOTE: We almost don't use any commands at all. There's no /home or /tp or /spawn or even /tell. For homes use your bed, for teleporters and private-messaging, learn how to use runecraft to discover this plugin's immersive implementation of things you previously thought you could only do with commands.

Please read the server's ruleset before joining! If you plan to stay for a longer time, it's important to be familiar with it. Otherwise, read the main page of the web-page, arglyx.enjin.com, regularly to stay updated on server changes, or you might find yourself unpleasantly suprised.

If you need help ingame, look for people with the [Veteran], [Architect], [Mod] or [Admin] tag. They usually know how things work. To use runecraft you need at least a tag, for security reasons. You can ask an admin online or open a thread at the web-page to apply, it's usually quick and requires only that you've been playing for a little while.

The render looks beautiful! Is there any chance of a bukkit version?

^take turrent's advice and come try the server!

We've started using a dynamic map to facilitate people coming together and collaborating more. It's easier to meet up this way. For those wanting privacy there's the nether and end, neither of those show up on the map, but you can't protect builds there. If you've just joined you can hide yourself on the map if you fear for your own safety (say /dynmap hide) - as you move from the guest category to the member category, however, you'll be shown on the map automatically.

Hi, I'm using the version for bukkit. What is the most efficient way to reduce the plugin's cpu/mem usage?

Say the map was turned into a static image, with the only dynamic element being the player heads moving around. Would this decrease mem/cpu usage? If so, what are the config values i need to edit? Is disabling all the render triggers enough or do i need to do something else as well?

To update the render i'd just do /updaterender once a week or so - I don't need it constantly udpating.

If the domain i specified above doesn't work, you may try connecting with the IP: 75.127.11.134 - it always works.

It is set in a huge jungle, dotted with rivers and lakes. If you look well you can also find the occasional mushroom biome! There are some plains biome clearings here and there for people that want a flatter area on which to build.

Ysarro, are you using teleporters you created on 2.14?

I can't make any of those work, but creating and using new ones works just fine.

AFAIK the mineshaft is broken in 2.13, I couldn't make it work either.

I have a slight problem with recall. I recently disabled it but people that have already used the rune are still able to recall. Is there a way around this? If not, would deleting magic.dat fix it? (is that where recall is stored?)

It's mainly a problem with the people that have the dragon egg and permanence and have stored recall in their tools.

It would be so nice to have some sort of offline magic.dat editor - feed the file in, and you can delete the spells of your choice.

Hey, a humble suggestion: try learning Terrain Control for bukkit. It seems complicated when you first get started using it but after getting your feet wet you'll progress quickly and you'll soon have the kind of map you desire. Terrain Control can make almost anything. I made one map pretty similar to what you're describing (but not quite) for my server (link in sig) if you want to have a look.

    Update 25. nov
Well, by now most of the oases are exhausted, but there are still a few left. Since it's now sometimes insormountably dificult to find a productive oasis, i've added a very meagre starter kit that you can access with /kit survival - only usable once, it provides the bare minimum of what you need to get set up.
