Alright, no problem. This does actually bring up a sort of opposite problem though. Cases where you want the exact opposite of a vertical stair, for when you are building with the vertislabs and have a need for a corner in a case like this...

    _0
    X|

Where the lines are verti slabs that are placed on the X block, and the 0 is thin air. If you wanted to place just a single little piece there.... well, you cant. Also, I would say, on your comment of having slabs form corners, don't. You usually want the slabs for some fine detail work, and that would go against that at times. I would say it would be better to use a different kind of block for each setup, so that YOU can choose what setup you get. If you tried to do it how you have your stairs(which work fine, considering you want stair connectivity, although it could use a little help for when you use all the stairs in a square and you want to get them to all link up). So effectively, having not only a stair block, but a sort of single row block as well, a single step of the stair.

I actually have house I made using your vertislabs, and I might want to show it off. They allow so much customization, and the half meter walls are great for patio/porch areas.

I am curious, did you catch the comment about vertical stairs I made earlier in the thread? It is something that would fit your mod set, and would be nice for building with. I know there are times I am using your verti slabs and come to the issue of how to do a corner with them when using them as a sort of wall. I end up having to, instead of doing a perfectly flush wall, have a small corner sticking out because I have to use a full block. Half meter thick walls are nice for when you are wanting to be able to see over the edge of it very easily, something that the normal blocks doesn't really allow.

I am running into an issue with Better Blocks and Rotation key. For some reason, all of my trees textures are getting messed up. Bad. They don't even look like trees anymore, except for the fact they have a bunch of leaves on top. I have pinned it down to this mod(I manually checked all of my mods individually for this bug). I am using MCForge 249, but I have seen this with as early as 240. Might you have an idea why this is happening?

EDIT: I now see that you had noticed this, but you should have said something in the original post, so that the people who check there for incompatabilities and the like so that we noticed you noticed it, or know the exact source of this without doing a full reset of our mods. It isn't a gamebreaking bug(but it is very annoying to have trees made out of.... something that I can't figure out). Oh well. You could have left the link up for the forge rotation key and just said to be wary of the fact it is very buggy(although the only bug I get with it is a graphical bug).

This mod should really be implemented into minecraft! Its awesome! I made a spotlight video of it :-)

Actually, from what I remember, it actually WAS a part of minecraft that got removed. No clue why though.

The only critiques I have of the mod are both originality, and the fact the sticks are placed on the right(You might as well place it on the left, so it can look like a handle to the object you are making while still in the crafting table)....

Just an idea, can you modify the stairs so you can place them "vertically". By vertically, I mean so that the step is perpendicular to the ground. For the sake of corners in walls and such.

I am curious. Your 2.0.4 update seemed to break it, while the 2.0.3 update worked fine.

On another note, I would say the elemental ores should have something other than just color to show what they are. A bit of shaping to represent its element. Would look better that way in my eyes. Also, if any of those are a wind based sword or water based, they are too thick. Wind and Water are usually considered graceful elements, and are usually depicted in weaponry as thinner, more fluid weapons. Also, what is that first one supposed to be?

Fixed it, but for some reason, all of my trees are messed up.

Anyone else had this problem, I only saw it with this mod installed.

the fact is, you saying you followed the video's instructions(we don't know which video, so we don't know what instructions you followed). We KNOW you had to have messed something up, for it, especially stand alone, works fine.

Did you get Modloader? Player API? Did you actually open up the smartmoving.zip file and get the CORRECT file from within there to put in the game?

If you have not really modded your file before, then you wouldn't know some things, and it is reasonable to not do it correctly.

    People still use 1.2.5?

Sure, I can build a 1.2.5 version for you :)

People still use 1.2.5 mostly for the sake of the really big mods that have not updated yet(Steve's carts, Red Power, little blocks, ExtrabiomesXL, Mo'Creatures, stuff like that).

Looks like a really nice mod, if you can get it done. Would probably be like Better than Wolves though, and incompatible with EVERYTHING. But it would, if completed, be one of the best mods out there.

I bookmarked it, and if you want a beta tester, I would have no problem with testing it for you. Wouldn't even bother my save setup, as I use magic launcher to keep separate minecraft folders completely independent, and I could easily set this one up to the side for testing stuff.

I could also, in addition to helping spot bugs, critique a few things(I am wanting to major in VGD, so I could very well help work on this for a very long time, if it turns out well).

I am actually interested in the mod, but just a question(I have 1.3.2 so I can't test it myself). Can the gears transmit redstone signals horizontally on the wall? Also, perhaps a wee bit more cost effective recipe?

Sigh..... I guess, for some reason, it has gotten exponentially harder to click the WIP Mods button, and to post the ideas over there. This is NOT a mod, it is just an IDEA for a mod/news on a incomplete mod. Guess what? Doesn't belong here. Belongs Here.

I don't think that the ratio of the weights would be a problem, just more the sake of HOW much you can hold. I am tempted to get it though, but would make even the most basic builds, early on, pretty tough. Perhaps add items that have negative weight as well? Trade out slots for more total weight you can hold, effectively. Would let you choose between holding a lot of small things, or a few big ones. Would also, on that notice, be effective on having more expensive solutions to dealing with the weight(perhaps other things that directly modify the weights of items, like a backpack reducing the weights of all held items be reduced by 25%?) that are more effective than the simple solutions.
