Again, I have the right stuff where it is meant to be. I have tried putting repair on the goggles and sword of the Zephyr, both of which wouldn't accept it.
And yes, I do have infusion enchanting researched.
As I have said, I am doing everything right. Nothing at all should be preventing it. It just doesn't work, plain and simple.
Are you guys trying to put Repair on something that already has Unbreaking? Doesn't work.
The enchanting table can put Unbreaking on top of Repair, if it rolls Repair first, but since infusion enchanting was implemented by Azanor himself he may have been able to block both permutations there.
You also can't put Treasure on combat foci, which really steams my cheese even though I know you can't legitimately get long-range Looting in vanilla either.
No, I have no unbreaking on it. I have tried it with a clean, unenchanted item, as well as lightly enchanted items.
Make sure you aren't trying to START the process with excess materials on pedestals. That won't work either. Adding more items once it's running has worked well for me, but the exact number and type of items on the nearby pedestals at the start is what the runic matrix uses to determine what recipe is being attempted (and their position may be a factor for the instability). Just as it won't start if there are items missing, it won't start if there are extra items either.
Nope, no extra materials on the pedestals, just the required ones. I have about 40 extra of each essencia in the jars though. Quite a few people on my server tried to trigger it, and none of us can do it. And yes, we ARE using the most recent version, before you ask.
Proper items on the surrounding pedestals? you might have something extra or are missing something. What enchant are you attempting?

It is a running joke/threat on the forums that mod authors always delay a release by one week for every time they are asked when it will be released. I believe the exact phrase usually used is... "I will release it one week after the last person has asked, or when it is ready, whichever comes second."
With the thaumostatic harness I don't carry around full jars. I pull the jar out, place it on the ground and fill it up with phials. Still annoying to refill but this makes much less inventory clutter.
You can also, if you don't mind wasting the jars (by the way, a jar holds more essencia than the phials can on both a price AND inventory efficiency basis), just make a bunch of jars of essencia and when one runs out, throw out the old jar, and put a new full one in (Jars stack if they have the exact same values). So it is more effective to just do that. You can even drop the old jars on the ground, if you want to reclaim them later.
Why? I mean, what "endgame" are you aiming for here? Azanor has stated in the past that Thaumcraft is "balanced" on the assumption that it is being used with Vanilla - which does work both ways: On the one hand, thaumcraft doesn't need to be "balanced" against mods like IC2 that provide power suits & ore doubling. On the other hand, if the "end game" is killing the wither and end dragon - whats left such that "limited flight time" is anything but an annoyance?
For me, this is the point that the game becomes, perhaps a bit more about building my castle in the sky. And, the ability to hover, with "low cost" is not unbalancing. Its a necessary reward.
The thing is, unless you literally just go afk while flying around, you should never have an issue with potentia. Seriously, you can very easily set up a charcoal farm via golems, and if you are "building your castle in the sky" as you put it, odds are you have a ton of materials on site, and in such a case, one of those "materials" would be a distilation area, or just several stacks of jars (it only takes 1-2 inventory slots to keep a 64 stack of Potentia jars, depending on if you are worried about keeping the "waste" jars or not).
Hell, I would consider the much slower block break speed when flying more annoying that the "cost" of flying in the thing.
EDIT: On to the thing that I actually came here for, that I forgot.... Can you purify a tainted node? I know you can purify the taint itself, but can the nodes be saved? I am asking because I REALLY want to "save" this 200+ vis node I found.... the thing is a titan of a node, but is tainted. Don't exactly want to place it in my base if I can't purify it, but if I can infact purify it, I want it really REALLY bad. Or would just keeping it in a safe zone of Etherial Blooms/Silverwood Pure nodes be enough to contain it to make the taint a non-issue?
What items have Exanimus because I have been exploring for over 3 hours and found nothing but 1 etheral essence... And I need a lot of it :/
Depends on how recent an update you are using. If you are using some of the most recent updates, you can find it on a lot of things that make sense. Specifically, Zombie Brains, Ghast Tears, Skulls/Heads of any variety, breaking Sinister Nodes which have it as one of the aspects within it, Wisp of that essence will drop it when killed, AND Mana Beans can all be a viable source of it.
Azanor, a critic about the infusion alter in the latest update..... Your instability effects and the punishment for them are a bit overkill now. Now you need nearly 10-20 more of whatever required essencia to be in the jars or else it can fail purely due to the instability effect knocking something off for a half second and you needing to replace it.
Can you please just add a grace period of like 5-10 seconds to replace the material before it starts boosting the price? As it is impossible to do it fast enough otherwise to prevent the price going up. Which sort of sucks when you are working with rare essencias.
The price going up in and of itself is fine, you should be punished for not being ready. Not for having to actually fix something the altar itself messes up.
lol, nice. Can't wait. Also.... I hope you didn't forget that affinities tab in the occulus. I would really like to see my affinities by more than just my traits in game (I know Lightning/Air affinity in my case due to one block step up plus 2.5 block jump height, but I want to know the exact % value).
Also, just what feels like a bug report for Lightning affinity, I can't seem to tell the MS bonus from it at all, despite my affinity saying I should have at least a 20% bonus due to having one block step up. I have been running besides friends quite often in our base, and I very often notice that I am not pulling ahead of them at all. The jumping boost from Air affinity is working fine, and the storm effect TOO fine, (I have gotten blown around inside my deep mountain base in the past...). Thinking of it, I also haven't noticed the Lightning rod effect of the Lightning affinity to much. Although I would swear lightning strikes around my base more often than usual.
Guys, I'll be dropping an update out sometime tomorrow. So once I have it set up, we are good to go.
And qqq, I REALLY hope you kept a backup of the world that was crashing, as it was a pure render crash, and had nothing to do with server stability. And I fixed it. As I told you to, by downgrading Forge to a lower version number(I said the exact number at the time, actually), but oh well.

Yea, this update broke some things I didn't see in my dev enviroment. So we will probably revert later. Anyway, that crash can be fixed by deleting old forge files in your versions folder in .minecraft. Delete all but the most recent one (.145) and you should work.
1. Forge version update. Be sure to update to the new Forge version provided in the download.
2. Thaumcraft, Biomes O Plenty, and Blood Magic have updated.
3. Hunger Overhaul food stack sizes multiplied by 3.
Note, server is having issues turning back on, we are waiting on qqq122 to get on to fix it. If issues like this are common... it could be annoying and make me go back to old hosting, but we will see.
This isn't true at all. The only time the spell aborts is if you right click the altar block during the creation process, in which case you get most of the materials back.
Odd, because that has happened to me. I literally watched a Nexus (from nearly 20 blocks away as I was rushing back with stuff I forgot) "shatter" the spell and drop all the stuff back on the ground. It has happened to several people on our server. Unless my block reach range has 20+ block range, pretty sure I did not right click that block.
