posted a message on Terrem: An Indev Indie Game
First off (without touching the game itself) I love your support for a lot of different operating systems, something which is quite rare in vidya these days, I have to credit you on that. Second of all, you did say that so far it is a basic 2D Minecraft clone, which is alright for Alpha because I remember Minecraft having basically no goal when it was first launched in Alpha. Then it escalated to greater heights, was updated majorly over the course of two years and is now known by millions of people and is incredibly popular. Just trying to add some inspiration to make sure you keep this going, if something doesn't work, fix it, don't give up in developing it. Because, if you give it your all, it can go far.

    I'll be back with an edit once I've played around with the current build {Alpha v1.0_2}

I know it's going to take awhile to get everything together, but the main thing I have trouble with is ideas.
Well then I suppose any complete ripoff a Elder Scrolls game that is tuned down a lot would be great considering there are no actual worthwhile fantasy rpgs' on iPhone.

You also have to learn C++ or whatever language your going to be putting this on. Sound design, marketing, etc. Ideas aren't everything, it's a little bit of each.

OMG!! AN XBOX 360!?!?? no. Why would I wan't one When I have a computer that's better?? I personally see no point. Apart from the gift certificate. Plus, who plays WoW and wants an xbox? The majority are computer nerds.
Hey, I have an idea, how 'bout you sell it? There's this thing called money.
As for the contest, If I did enter I'd probably enter with a friend.

posted a message on Persona 4 Arena Region Lockout?
I have a pretty specific question here and it's about the (fairly new) fighting game named Persona 4 Arena. News has it that it is the first region locked game for PS3 and I live in this little south country called Australia. Since the game has already came out in August in North America and I don't feel like waiting another 6 or 7 months for it to come out in Australia I'm asking (since I realize for some games NA and Australia have the same region code) if I can just import the game from NA and play it on my Australian PS3.
    Is it possible?

I believe it's something to do with your Java version.
Just go ahead and download the latest normal version of Java and you should be fine, if not then the fault is most likely hidden somewhere else.

posted a message on How much ram does a server actually need ?
    Quote from Charly_ZA1022093

Our server will be hosted by a minecraft server host not on my PC. I just wanted to know how much RAM I should order.

I used to rent a server for 5 people and 756MB of RAM was doing fine for that amount.
So if I was you I would get that or 512MB if you're looking to save a bit.

The tiling is half-good, but texturing just isnt your thing, try something else for a hobby, like java or disconnecting your internet.

Well if I only have 1 fan, then I will to the best of my ability to re-edit the bad textures to something better and bring you an update as soon as physically possible.
I will have to work on the tiling too, obviously but it's all in due time.

As for Java I was never amazing at that, but I was definitely good.
I'm starting to take "disconnecting your internet" into consideration, are they job opportunities available for that kind of expertise, or no?

Okay, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. If you're not, and you are completely serious, then I'm going to tell you right now that your pack is completely terrible. There is not one good thing about it.

Please look at some tutorials first, and then try your hand at creating real textures, rather than scribbling random and absurd colours over pre-existing ones. There are plenty of tutorials here in Texture Discussion, so feel free to browse around.

Right, I'll try working on that, but then I have another person over here telling me it's perfect and the tiling is amazing.
    I'm genuinely confused.

It's beautiful! Don't change a thing! Honestly! Can you make a tutorial? :3

Thanks for your feedback, as for the tutorial, if I get enough demand for one, then in due time I will create it.

I've been trying to create a texture pack for a while now, but I've always came around not liking what I've seen, so now I'm actually trying to devote time to it.
So far I've only done grass, dirt, sand and wood, but I'm working on other textures.
Any feedback and suggestions are appreciated!

posted a message on Conan O'Brien To Play A Game...
    Quote from GuardTower

playing the other games may be funnier but its all about the publicity. having Conan play minecraft = more views = more people interested in playing minecraft = more minecraft sales = more houses to grief :megusta:

It's gotten up to the point where Minecraft has hit mainstream in the gaming industry and everyone knows about it. Minecraft doesn't actually need more sales at this moment, Notch(or rather Mojang) has already hit and gone beyond their supposed goal for this game.
