I have; as far as I'm aware, it's a completely open server.

I've been trying to play the modpack on Twitch; Dungeons, Dragons, & Space Shuttles. I can boot up the game and get to the menu without too much trouble, albeit the loading time is a bit lengthy.
However, when attempting to connect to any DD&SS servers, the loading time is around 10+ minutes, and always ends with either the simple "Disconnected" screen, or an exception error "the connection was terminated by software on the host machine." It's a complete toss-up as to which error it will be, I can't seem to do anything to get only one of the two. They are the only two I get, though.
I've ensured that javaw.exe is permitted through my firewall, and permitted both javaw and Minecraft through my antivirus. I'm curious as to why I still see the 'software on the host machine' issue.
I have 8GB of RAM, and I can play nearly any other modpack just fine. I'm aware this one is a pretty intense one (250+ mods), though, and it's possible my computer might not be able to handle joining the server, but I wanted to make sure there's nothing else at stake here.
I often allocate 6GB of RAM to modded Minecraft. I've tried allocating 4, 6, and 8GB, all to no success. 6GB seems to be the most stable for me in terms of starting the game, as you'd expect.
If anyone has any advice or things to try, or is willing to tell me the cold hard truth that my computer just isn't made for it, do let me know. I'm running on a desktop and have never had this much of an issue before with modpacks, I even ran All the Mods 3 without much of a problem.
Thanks in advance!
If there's any other info or specs you need to know, please inform me and I'll post them. I'm usually not sure where to go about getting them.
