Using wooden planks to block up in a cave instead of using the plentiful cobblestone around me >_<

I know that feeling when there is a large tree and you need a lot of wood... it is painful to cut the whole thing down... So I suggest something we can do to break trees down instantly.

So if we hold shift and break a wooden block of the tree, it would break the blocks above the wooden block you broke, but the blocks below the wooden block you broke will not be broken. It breaks the leaves too.

So to make it not Over Powered... It will take a lot of your hunger down, depending on the size of tree. If it is a small tree it would not take as much hunger as the big tree. If the tree is very large, it would take nearly all your hunger down... and you can't sprint anymore.

This method will not work with trees that are built, it must be grown naturally or grown with a sapling.

I can see this work with making a tree farm, all you need to do is bring a lot of food.

About the wood not being 100% Straight! (Like Acacia Trees?)
Well it will detect if there is a leaf block or wooden block diagonal to itself, and then break it. Must be a part of the tree, or it will not break.

For the trees with a big stem (Like Dark Oak Trees?)
Wood block that is being broken will detect if there is a block next to it, or below it and will not break it. As for the blocks above it, it will break. This will also work diagonally too.

Doing this method will take away:
-1 tool durability per wood
-0.025 saturation for every block that falls
Also, if the tool doesn't have enough durability to break the whole tree, it will just break the one block you are breaking. It saves your axe from breaking.
