    Your "particle": "blocks/wool" in your json file does the breaking block effect. Move your particle line above your "0": "blocks/wool_colored_white".

    And why are you telling the mdel file to find the texture "wool"? "Wool" does not exists, use "wool_colored_white" instead.

    hold on, you are naming the directory wrongly in your item's json folder, instead of "items", you are writing "item".

    And, what are you naming your item as? unlocalizedName and/or registryName?

    Add a string with the word "inventory" after the getRegistryName, of course, you will need a comma after getRegistryName

    MrCrayfish will not update the 1.7.10 version anytime soon, he said it during his Dev channel livestream that he will not update primarily due to the fact that he is used to the block models system in 1.8x and above.

    this tutorial teaches you how to create your own particles and event handlers. 15:30 is where the particle spawning code is, 19:50 is where the custom particle (custom texture on your particle) is.
